On completely irreducible operators

Let T be a bounded linear operator on Hilbert space H, M an invariant subspace of T. If there exists another invariant subspace N of T such that H = M + N and M ∩ N = 0, then M is said to be a completely reduced subspace of T. If T has a nontrivial completely reduced subspace, then T is said to be completely reducible; otherwise T is said to be completely irreducible. In the present paper we briefly sum up works on completely irreducible operators that have been done by the Functional Analysis Seminar of Jilin University in the past ten years and more. The paper contains four sections. In section 1 the background of completely irreducible operators is given in detail. Section 2 shows which operator in some well-known classes of operators, for example, weighted shifts, Toeplitz operators, etc., is completely irreducible. In section 3 it is proved that every bounded linear operator on the Hilbert space can be approximated by the finite direct sum of completely irreducible operators. It is clear that a completely irreducible operator is a rather suitable analogue of Jordan blocks in L(H), the set of all bounded linear operators on Hilbert space H. In section 4 several questions concerning completely irreducible operators are discussed and it is shown that some properties of completely irreducible operators are different from properties of unicellular operators. __________ Translated from Acta Sci. Unified approach to photo-and electro-production of mesons with arbitrary spins

A new approach to identify the independent amplitudes along with their partial wave multipole expansions, for photo-and electro-production is suggested, which is generally applicable to mesons with arbitrary spin-parity. These amplitudes facilitate direct identification of different resonance contributions.

本文证明了可分无穷维 Hilbert空间上每个有界线性算子均可写成两个强不可约算子之和 .这回答了文献 [9]中提出一个公开问题     

亚直不可约DQrC-环

在文[1]中我们引进了DQ_rC-环,本文给出了忠实的与不忠实的DQ_rC-环为亚直不可约环的充分必要条件.由于DQ_rC-环是比DQC-环更广泛的环类,所以本文推广了W.Burgess等人在DQC-环方面相应的工作.     

良序套张量积的代数中的强不可约算子

设Ｈ为复的可分无限维Ｈｉｌｂｅｒｔ空间，称有界线性算子Ｔ为强不可约的，如果与Ｔ可交换的幂等算子只有０和Ｉ．王宗尧、蒋春澜、纪有清等人证明了在任何一个套的套代数中都存在大量的强不可约算子，并且找到了它们的酉轨道闭包．本文考虑有限个套的张量积的代数中强不可约算子的存在性问题。证明了：对复平面上任何一个连通完备集σ、总存在一个对角算子Ｎ和它的一个范数可以任意小的紧摄动Ｔ＝Ｘ＋Ｋ，使得Ｔ是一个强不可约算子、Ｔ在有限个良序套的张量积的代数中，并且σ（Ｔ）＝σｌｒｅ（Ｔ）＝σ（Ｎ）＝σｌｒｅ（Ｎ）＝σ进一步，文章还对具有单点谱的算子和良序套与正交补为良序套的张量积的代数进行了讨论，得到了一些结果．     

Irreducible Representations of Wreath Products of Association Schemes

The wreath product of finite association schemes is a natural generalization of the notion of the wreath product of finite permutation groups. We determine all irreducible representations (the Jacobson radical) of a wreath product of two finite association schemes over an algebraically closed field in terms of the irreducible representations (Jacobson radicals) of the two factors involved.     

Lattice path combinatorics and asymptotics of multiplicities of weights in tensor powers

We give asymptotic formulas for the multiplicities of weights and irreducible summands in high-tensor powers V_λ^⊗N of an irreducible representation V_λ of a compact connected Lie group G. The weights are allowed to depend on N, and we obtain several regimes of pointwise asymptotics, ranging from a central limit region to a large deviations region. We use a complex steepest descent method that applies to general asymptotic counting problems for lattice paths with steps in a convex polytope.     

On the spectral picture of an irreducible subnormal operator II

In this paper we show that the spectral picture of an irreducible subnormal operator may be arbitrarily prescribed subject only to certain natural necessary conditions. This completes work begun by the second author.

     

Homomorphic images of finite subdirectly irreducible unary algebras

We prove that a finite unary algebra with at least two operation symbols is a homomorphic image of a (finite) subdirectly irreducible algebra if and only if the intersection of all its subalgebras which have at least two elements is nonempty. Algorithms for finding proper essential surfaces in 3-manifolds

In this paper, we present an algorithm which, for a given compact orientable irreducible boundary irreducible 3-manifold M, verifies whether M contains an essential orientable surface (possibly, with boundary), whose genus is at most N. The algorithm is based on Haken’s theory of normal surfaces, and on a trick suggested by Jaco and consisting in estimating the mean length of boundary curves in an unknown essential surface of a given genus in the given manifold.
