Tandem Synthesis of Tetrasubstituted NH Pyrroles from Simple Nitriles

An efficient tandem route to obtain tetrasubstituted NH pyrroles in a one-pot manner has been developed, staring from simple nitriles, ethyl bromoacetates, and zinc. This reaction involves oxidative dimerization of the zinc bromide complex of β-enaminoesters using cerium ammonium nitrate (CAN) as an oxidant, affording 2,3,4,5-tetrasubstituted pyrroles in yields up to 91%.     

Superbase‐catalyzed domino 3H‐pyrroles synthesis from ketoximes and acetylene: DFT study vs experiment

Elimination of vinyl alcohol from 5‐vinyloxypyrrolines in the presence of superbases (final step of domino 3H‐pyrroles synthesis from ketoximes and acetylene) is studied computationally at different levels of theory in DMSO solution (PCM). The sequences of transformations starting from nucleophilic addition of hydroxide ion to carbon‐carbon or carbon‐nitrogen double bonds are proposed as possible mechanisms. Unusual reactivity of 2,5‐dimethylphenyl substituted 5‐vinyloxypyrroline is explained within these mechanisms.

Microwave-Assisted Method for Synthesis of 1,3-Disubstituted Pyrroles

1,3-Disubstituted pyrroles were prepared by a microwave-assisted reaction of pyrrolidine and aldehydes in toluene as well as in solvent-free conditions. Reactions were completed in a few minutes in the solvent-free condition but a long time (up to 30 min) was necessary to complete reactions in toluene. Yields of products depended considerably on the aldehyde used.     

Far-Red Dibenzo[a,j]Perylene-8,16-Dione Dyes as Fluorescent Enzyme Substrates and Tags for Biomolecules

The synthesis of fluorescent 2,10-derivatives of the title chromophore are described. The substituents contain amino-reactive N-hydroxysuccinimde ester and thiol-reactive iodoacetamide groups for attachment to biomolecules. A phosphate derivative was also prepared as an enzyme substrate.     

Regeneration of Carbonyl Compounds from Oximes and Hydrazones Using Peroxymonosulfate on Silica gel under Solvent-free Conditions

In an environmentally benign solvent-free system, oximes and hydrazones are rapidly transformed into parent carbonyl compounds using peroxymonosulfate on silica gel under microwave irradiation in good to excellent yields.     

Efficient Synthesis of 3‐Pyrrolylquinolines via an 1,3‐Dipolar Cycloaddition/Oxidation Sequence

The synthesis of some new functionalized quinolyl derivatives relies on the 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition of an azomethine ylide, generated from sarcosine and paraformaldehyde, to quinolyl α,β‐unsaturated esters, followed by oxidation of the pyrrolidinyl moiety to pyrrole with activated MnO₂.     

Synthesis of enantiopure furo[2,3-b]pyrroles

A simple method for the preparation of enantiopure furo[2,3-b]pyrroles, a rare class of concave bicyclic nitrogen and oxygen heterocycle, in promising yield has been developed. The 3-substituted pyrrolidinediones prepared from (2S,3S)-tetrahydro-3-hydroxy-5-oxo-2,3-furandicarboxylic acid (Garcinia acid) have been cyclized diastereo as well as enantioselectively to furo[2,3-b]pyrroles. The cyclization follows Baldwin’s rule.     

An efficient and convenient synthesis of pentasubstituted pyrroles from alkyl acetoacetates,dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates,and amines

A simple and efficient synthesis of pentasubstituted pyrroles has been developed using a one-pot, two-step reaction. The synthesis of a series of 4-hydroxypenta-1,3-diene-tricarboxylates from alkyl acetoacetates and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in the presence of K₂CO₃, followed by cyclization with amines, gave the corresponding pyrroles in excellent yields.
