Intensity Distribution and Phase Vortices of Speckle Fields Generated by Multi-Aperture Random Scattering Screens

The intensity distribution and phase vortices of the speckle fields generated by multi-aperture random scattering screens are simulated, and it is found that the vortices exhibit layer-like structures and the dislocation phenomena occur in the local phase patterns produced by the two-pinhole aperture, whose phase distributions appear as striped structures. For three- or four-pinhole aperture, there are many circular bright spots appearing in the speckle grains, and there is one vortex between the neighboring circular bright spots. The positive and negative phase vortex lattices appear in the phase distributions, and the regions circled by the isothetic phase lines form irregular quadrilaterals or hexagons. Moreover, the relative positions of the vortices or bright spots can be adjusted by changing those of the pinhole apertures.     

Lifetimes of High Spin States in an Odd-Proton Nucleus 129Cs

Lifetimes of high spin states in 129Cs axe measured using the Doppler shift attenuation method. The high spin states of 129 Cs axe populated following the fusion evaporation reaction 124 Sn（UB, 6n）129 Cs at a beam energy of 65 MeV. The reduced transition probabilities B（E2） and the transition quadrupole moments Qt in the negativeand positive-paxity bands are deduced. The experimental results indicate that the Qt values of the negative parity band are smaller than those of the positive parity bands, probably due to different γ-deformation driving effects of different proton orbitals. The Qt values exhibit a considerable increase near the band crossing region in these bands. This behavior demonstrates that nuclear shape changing results from the neutron or proton alignments. The signature splitting of the πh11/2 and πg7/2 bands shows the opposite changing trend after backbending due to the h11~2 neutron and h11/2 proton alignments, respectively.     

Intensity Spatial Profile Analysis of a Gaussian Laser Beam at Its Waist Using an Optical Fiber System

In many applications, it is important to know the waist of a laser beam. However, it is impossible to measure it directly because the intensity is high at the waist. We have used an optical fiber-scan system to characterize the Gauss/an intensity profile of a focused femtosecond laser beam. The measurement system employs a single-mode optical fiber that is fixed on a motorized three-dimensional translation stage to collect the laser energy and the other end is connected to an optical power meter to measure the intensity profile. Using the measure data and geometry formulas, one can calculate the beam waist and far-field divergence angle of a laser beam. The measured beam waist size is essentially consistent with the result of theoretical fit.     

羧基丁苯-纳米氧化硅复合粉末增韧聚苯乙烯的研究

用直接分散聚合法制备了羧基丁苯-纳米氧化硅杂化胶乳,经喷雾干燥得到的羧基丁苯-纳米氧化硅复合粉末通过本体-悬浮聚合和熔融共混法制备了高抗冲聚苯乙烯.结果表明,本体/悬浮聚合法中预聚转化率的控制与复合粉末的加入量有关,当加入的复合粉末的质量分数为0.05时,冲击强度可提高5倍,也高于熔融共混法所制备的改性聚苯乙烯.本体/悬浮聚合法制备的改性聚苯乙烯的热分解温度（Td）高于熔融共混法改性的,且Td随复合粉末加入量的增加而提高,但改性聚苯乙烯的刚性有一定程度的降低,而对材料的玻璃化转变温度影响不大.     

SCATTERING OF THE HARMONIC STRESS WAVE BY CRACKS IN FUNCTIONALLY GRADED PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIALS

The present paper considers the scattering of the time harmonic stress wave by a single crack and two collinear cracks in functionally graded piezoelectric material （FGPM）. It is assumed that the properties of the FGPM vary continuously as an exponential function. By using the Fourier transform and defining the jumps of displacements and electric potential components across the crack surface as the unknown functions, two pairs of dual integral equations are derived. To solve the dual integral equations, the jumps of the displacement and electric potential components across the crack surface are expanded in a series of Jacobi polynomials. Numerical examples are provided to show the influences of material properties on the dynamic stress and the electric displacement intensity factors.     

A STUDY OF RESIDUAL STRENGTH OF SISAL TEXTILE REINFORCED VINYL ESTER

In this study, the residual strength of sisal textile reinforced vinyl ester resin is studied using specimens with a central hole. Two kinds of chemicals, silane and permanganate, are used to treat sisal fibre surfaces. The effects of fibre surface treatments on the residual strength of sisal fibre reinforced composites with different central hole sizes are analysed. Optical microscopy （OM） surveys provide sound evidence for the relationship between residual strength properties and fracture morphologies of sisal textile reinforced vinyl ester. Several theoretical models used to predict the residual strength of laminated composites are briefly reviewed. Point stress criterion （PSC） and average stress criterion （ASC） models are used to analyze the mechanical properties of sisal textile reinforced polymers with a central hole in this research. Material constant, characteristic length （d0 or lc）, is obtained and used to analyze the mechanical behavior of the composites. The residual strength of the composites predicted by PSC and ASC models is in good agreement with the experimental results..
