Closo-BnHn−2(CO)2 (n = 5–12), isolobal analogues of closo-C2Bn−2Hn, have been investigated at the B3LYP/6-311+G**density functional level of theory. The most stable isomers of closo-BnHn−2(CO)2 are similar to those of closo-C2Bn−2Hn in geometric patterns apart from closo-B6H4(CO)2, and closo-BnHn−2(CO)2 is much less strained than closo-C2Bn−2Hn. Energetic analysis identifies closo-B6H4(CO)2, closo-B12H10(CO)2 and closo-B10H8(CO)2 to be most stable, of which the latter two cages have been prepared experimentally. On the basis of the negative and rather large nucleus independent chemical shifts (NICS), closo-BnHn−2(CO)2 are aromatic. To aid further experimental study, the CO stretching frequencies have been computed.  相似文献

3J(C,H) coupling constants via a sulfur atom in two series of compounds, both including a sulfide, a sulfoxide and a sulfone, were detected experimentally and calculated by quantum mechanical methods. In the first series (1-3) the coupling between a hydrogen, bonded to an sp3 carbon, and an sp2 carbon is treated; the second series (4-6) deals with the coupling between a hydrogen, bonded to an sp3 carbon, and an sp3 carbon. Different pulse sequences (broadband HMBC, SelJres, 1D HSQMBC, J-HMBC-2, selective J-resolved long-range experiment and IMPEACH-MBC) proved to be useful in determining the long-range 3J(C,H) coupling constants. However, the dynamic behaviour of two of the compounds (4 and 6) led to weighted averages of the two coupling constants expected (concerning equatorial and axial positions of the corresponding hydrogens). DFT calculations proved to be useful to calculate not only the 3J(C,H) coupling constants but also the different contributions of FC, PSO, DSO and SD terms; the calculation of the Fermi contact term (FC) was found to be sufficient for the correct estimation of 3J(C,H) coupling constants.  相似文献

A barium-containing crown ether bridged chiral heterotrinuclear salen Zn(II) complex BaZn2L(ClO4)2, where L is a folded dinuclear chiral (R,R)-salen ligand, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, UV-vis, IR, circular dichroism (CD) spectra, and mass spectra. As a folded dinuclear chiral host, its recognition with achiral guests (imidazole derivatives), rigid bidentate guest (1,4-diazobicyclo[2,2,2]octane, DABCO) and chiral guests (amino acid methyl esters) was investigated by means of UV-vis spectrophotometric titration, CD spectra. The association constants of D-amino acid methyl esters are found to be higher than those of their L-enantiomer. The sandwich-type binding of BaZn2L(ClO4)2-DABCO supramolecular assembly was specially studied via 1H NMR titration and 1H ROESY. To understand the recognition on molecular level, density functional theory (DFT) calculations on B3LYP/LanL2DZ were performed on the minimal energy conformations of host, guests, and host-guest complexes. The minimal energy conformations were obtained by molecular mechanics (MM) optimization and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. The results of single point energy, HOMO energy, and charges transfer were analyzed. The results of theoretical calculations are in good agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

The modeling of reactivity in an ionic liquid is examined with DFT and DFT/MM calculations on the S(N)2 intramolecular rearrangement of the Z-phenylhydrazone of 3-benzoyl-5-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole into 4-benzoylamino-2,5-diphenyl-1,2,3-triazole induced by amines. Experimental research has shown that the reaction occurs in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, and in conventional organic solvents such as acetonitrile with comparable rates. The structure for the reactants, transition states and products for the rate-determining step are optimized, and the energy barrier is computed in three different environments: gas phase, water solvent, and ionic liquid. The results are encouraging in describing the energy barrier in the ionic liquid. A simple model is formulated to explain the effect of the solvent in this particular process, and a procedure to study theoretically the reactivity in an ionic liquid is proposed.  相似文献

The electronic absorption and emission spectra of large molecules reflect the extent and timescale of electron-vibration coupling and therefore the extent and timescale of relaxation/reorganization in response to a perturbation. In this paper, we present a comparison of the calculated absorption and emission spectra of NADH in liver alcohol dehydrogenase (LADH), using quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical methods, in which we vary the QM component. Specifically, we have looked at the influence of basis set (STO-3G, 3-21G*, 6-31G*, CC-pVDZ, and 6-311G**), as well as the influence of applying the DFT TD-B3LYP and ab initio TD-HF and CIS methods to the calculation of absorption/emission spectra and the reorganization energy (Stokes shift). The ab initio TD-HF and CIS methods reproduce the experimentally determined Stokes shift and spectral profiles to a high level of agreement, while the TD-B3LYP method significantly underestimates the Stokes shift, by 45%. We comment on the origin of this problem and suggest that ab initio methods may be naturally more suited to predicting molecular behavior away from equilibrium geometries.  相似文献

The Hexagallane [Ga6{SiMe(SiMe3)2}6] and the closo‐Hexagallanate [Ga6{Si(CMe3)3}4 (CH2C6H5)2]2— — the Transition to an Unusual precloso‐Cluster The closo hexagallanate [Ga6R4(CH2Ph)2]2— (R = SitBu3) as well as the hexagallane Ga6R6 (R = SiMe(SiMe3)2) with only six cluster electron pairs were isolated from reactions of “GaI” with the corresponding silanides. The structure of the latter is derived from an octahedron by a Jahn‐Teller‐distortion and is different from the capped trigonal bipyramidal one expected by the Wade‐Mingos rules. Both compounds were characterized by X‐ray crystallography. The bonding is discussed with simplified Ga6H6 and Ga6H62— models via DFT methods.  相似文献

The new 11-vertex nido-diphosphaborane, 7,9-Ph2-nido-7,9-P2B9H9, has been synthesized by the reaction of Me4N+[nido-B9H12] with PhPCl2 in the presence of NaH. A single crystal X-ray diffraction determination and DFT/GIAO/NMR methods have both established that the compound has an open cage structure containing the phosphorus atoms in non-adjacent positions on the open face.  相似文献

The differences between the molecular structures of the PCP-pincer complex [RuCl{C6H3(CH2P(C6H5)2)2-2,6}(PPh3)] ([RuCl(PCPH)(PPh3)], 1) and its tetrakis-pentafluorophenyl substituted analogue [RuCl{C6H3(CH2P(C6F5)2)2-2,6}(PPh3)] ([RuCl(PCPF20)(PPh3)], 2) have been rationalised by performing calculations on the cations [Ru(PCPH)(PPh3)]+ (1cat) and [Ru(PCPF20)(PPh3)]+ (2cat). The molecular interactions between the chloride ligand and the axial rings, as found in 1 and 2, respectively, have been studied computationally in the model systems [(C6X5PH2)2Cl] (X = H, F). The calculations on 2cat show that in 2 it is most likely the attractive electrostatic interaction between the chloride ligand and the fluorinated phenyl rings that forces the Cipso atom to occupy an axial position rather than an equatorial one in the observed (X-ray of 2) square pyramidal arrangement. In 1, however, repulsive steric hindrance forces the PPh3 ligand to take the apical position. The applicability of the TD-DFT method for the calculation of the electronic spectra of the PCP-pincer compounds 1 and 2 has been tested. The results indicate that the excitation energies calculated for both complexes are in a reasonable agreement with the experimental absorption maxima. However, for 1, all the calculated transition energies are underestimated.  相似文献

The reactions of [Co2(CO)8] with E(SiMe3)2 (E = Se, Te) in CH2Cl2 result in the formation of the compounds [Co4Se2(CO)10]> ( 1 ) and [Co4Te2(CO)11] ( 2 ), respectively. Both cluster complexes have similar molecular structures in which the cobalt atoms form four‐membered rings with μ4‐bridging chalcogen atoms (Se and Te) above and below the plane of the metal atoms and the carbonyl ligands as either terminal or μ2‐bridging ligands. DFT‐calculations for both compounds have been carried out in order to obtain some more information about their electronic distribution. In the presence of the phosphine Ph2PC≡CPPh2 (dppa), the reaction of [Co2(CO)8] with Se(SiMe3)2 leads to the formation of [Co8Se4(CO)16(μ‐dppa)2] ( 3 ). During the reaction two molecules of [Co2(CO)8] have been added to the acetylene groups of the dppa ligands, whilst the remaining cobalt atoms coordinate to the phosphorus atoms of the phosphine. In this compounds the selenium atoms act as μ3‐ligands, bridging the metal atoms bonded to the phosphorus with those bonded to the acetylene groups.  相似文献
