Wigner function and density operator of the photon-subtracted squeezed thermal state

By using the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators, the normal ordered density operator of the photon-subtracted squeezed thermal state (PSSTS) is derived. Then the corresponding Wigner function is presented by using the coherent state representation of the Wigner operator. The nonclassical properties of the PSSTS are discussed based on the negativity of the Wigner function.     

New optical field operator expansion in number state representation

By virtue of the Weyl ordering method,we find a new formalism of optical field operator expansion in number state representation.Miscellaneous optical fields’(coherent state,squeezed field,Wigner operator,etc.) new expansions are therefore exhibited.Some new generating functions of special polynomials are derived herewith.     

Squeezing entangled state of two particles with unequal masses

For two unequal-mass particles, we construct the entangled state representation and then derive the corresponding squeezing operator. This squeezing operator has a natural realization in the entangled state representation, which exhibits the intrinsic relation between squeezing and quantum entanglement. This squeezing operator involves both two-mode squeezing and the direct product of two single-mode squeezings. The maximum squeezing occurs when the two particles possess equal mass. When two particles' mass difference becomes large, the component of the two single-mode squeezings becomes dominant.     

New useful special function in quantum optics theory

By virtue of the operator Hermite polynomial method [Fan H Y and Zhan D H 2014 Chin. Phys. B 23 060301] we find a new special function which is useful in quantum optics theory, whose expansion involves both power-series and Hermite polynomials, i.e.,min(m,n)∑l-0n!m!(-1)l l!(n-l)!(m-l)!/Hn-l(x)ym-l≡■n,m(x,y).By virtue of the operator Hermite polynomial method and the technique of integration within ordered product of operators(IWOP) we derive its generating function. The circumstance in which this new special function appears and is applicable is considered.     

Oscillation behaviour in the photon-number distribution of squeezed coherent states

From the normally ordered form of the density operator of a squeezed coherent state(SCS),we directly derive the compact expression of the SCS’s photon-number distribution(PND).Besides the known oscillation characteristics,we find that the PND is a periodic function with a period of π and extremely sensitive to phase.If the squeezing is strong enough,and the compound phase which is relevant to the complex squeezing and displacement parameters are assigned appropriate values,different oscillation behaviours in PND for even and odd photon numbers appear,respectively.     

New approach for obtaining the time-evolution law of chaotic light field in damping—gaining process

A new approach for studying the time-evolution law of chaotic light field in damping-gaining coexisting process is presented. The new differential equation for determining the parameter of the density operator ρ(t) is derived and the solution of f′ for damping and gaining processes are studied separately. Our approach is direct and the result is concise since it is not necessarily for us to know the Kraus operators in advance.     

Normal coordinate in harmonic crystal obtained by virtue of the classical correspondence of the invariant eigen-operator

Noticing that the equation frac d²O_ndt²={H_c,{H_c,O_n}} =λO_n with double-Poisson bracket, where O_n is normal coordinate, H_c is classical Hamiltonian, is the classical correspondence of the invariant eigen-operator equation (2004 Phys. Lett. A. 321 75), we can find normal coordinates in harmonic crystal by virtue of the invariant eigen-operator method.     

New transformation of Wigner operator in phase space quantum mechanics for the two-mode entangled case

As a natural and important extension of Fan's paper (Fan Hong-Yi 2010 Chin. Phys. B 19 040305) by employing the formula of operators' Weyl ordering expansion and the bipartite entangled state representation this paper finds a new two-fold complex integration transformation about the Wigner operator Δ ( μ,v ) (in its entangled form) in phase space quantum mechanics, and its inverse transformation. In this way, some operator ordering problems regarding to ( a₁⁺-a₂) and (a₁+a₂⁺) can be solved and the contents of phase space quantum mechanics can be enriched, where a_i,a_i⁺ are bosonic creation and annihilation operators, respectively.     

Nonlinear two-mode squeezing obtained by analysing two-mode exponential quadrature operators in entangled state representation

By analysing the properties of two-mode quadratures in an entangled state representation (ESR) we derive from ESR some complicated exponential quadrature operators for nonlinear two-mode squeezing, which directly leads to wave function of the nonlinear squeezed state in ESR.     

Quantum Mechanical Version for Bessel Beam＇s Propagation in ABCD Optical System

By introducing the entangled state representation and the two-mode Fresnel operator we provide quantum mechanical version for Bessel beam＇s classical propagation in ABCD optical system. This provides the opportunity of studying various classical Fresnel transformations in the context of quantum optics.
