The analysis of mineral contents in space foods is needed to obtain an information on a comprehensive elemental composition as well as the investigation on the effects of human nutrition and health based on the dietary intake of mineral elements. Recently, six items of new Korean space foods (KSFs) such as kimchi, bibimbap, bulgogi, a ramen, a mulberry beverage and a fruit punch which was developed by the KAERI, and the contents of more than 15 elements in the samples were examined by using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). Five biological certified reference materials, NIST SRM were used for analytical quality control. The results were compared with those of common Korean foods reported, and these results will be applied toward the identification of irradiated foods.  相似文献

A behavioral response paradigm was used to measure masked underwater hearing thresholds in a bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) and a white whale (Delphinapterus leucas) before and after exposure to single underwater impulsive sounds produced from a seismic watergun. Pre- and postexposure thresholds were compared to determine if a temporary shift in masked hearing thresholds (MTTS), defined as a 6-dB or larger increase in postexposure thresholds, occurred. Hearing thresholds were measured at 0.4, 4, and 30 kHz. MTTSs of 7 and 6 dB were observed in the white whale at 0.4 and 30 kHz, respectively, approximately 2 min following exposure to single impulses with peak pressures of 160 kPa, peak-to-peak pressures of 226 dB re 1 microPa, and total energy fluxes of 186 dB re 1 microPa2 x s. Thresholds returned to within 2 dB of the preexposure value approximately 4 min after exposure. No MTTS was observed in the dolphin at the highest exposure conditions: 207 kPa peak pressure, 228 dB re 1 microPa peak-to-peak pressure, and 188 dB re 1 microPa2 x s total energy flux.  相似文献

Auditory filter shapes were estimated in two bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and one white whale (Delphinapterus leucas) using a behavioral response paradigm and notched noise. Masked thresholds were measured at 20 and 30 kHz. Masking noise was centered at the test tone and had a bandwidth of 1.5 times the tone frequency. Half-notch width to center frequency ratios were 0, 0.125, 0.25, 0.375, and 0.5. Noise spectral density levels were 90 and 105 dB re: 1 microPa2/Hz. Filter shapes were approximated using a roex(p,r) function; the parameters p and r were found by fitting the integral of the roex(p,r) function to the measured threshold data. Mean equivalent rectangular bandwidths (ERBs) calculated from the filter shapes were 11.8 and 17.1% of the center frequency at 20 and 30 kHz, respectively, for the dolphins and 9.1 and 15.3% of the center frequency at 20 and 30 kHz, respectively, for the white whale. Filter shapes were broader at 30 kHz and 105 dB re: 1 microPa2/Hz masking noise. The results are in general agreement with previous estimates of ERBs in Tursiops obtained with a behavioral response paradigm.  相似文献

Quadrupole magnetic flow sorting (QMS) is being adapted from the separation of suspensions of single cells (<15 μm) to the isolation of pancreatic islets (150–350 μm) for transplant. To achieve this goal, the critical QMS components have been modeled and engineered to optimize the separation process. A flow channel has been designed, manufactured, and tested. The quadrupole magnet assembly has been designed and verified by finite element analysis. Pumps have been selected and verified by test. Test data generated from the pumps and flow channel demonstrate that the fabricated channel and peristaltic pumps fulfill the requirements of successful QMS separation.  相似文献

We present a general method to analyze Colemann-Weinberg potentials in the orbit space, which is applicable to any irreducible representation. As an example, the structure of the SU(5) Coleman-Weinberg potential with scalars asigned to the adjoint representation is analyzed in complete detail, which confirms the general conclusion reached by Breit, Gupta and Zaks, and Moss that the phase transition in the new inflationary scenario of the early universe is problematic. We show that the disease found in the SU(5) case is common to all SU(N) (N > 3) and SO(2 N) (N ≠ 4,8) adjoints, and that the adjoints of SO(8) and exceptional groups are immune from the 1 disease.  相似文献

A small capacity (100 g.s−1) pilot system is described for presentation of powders and fine aggregates at high velocity, to an electron beam. Electron beam dose rate is continuously monitored in real time, while the thickness of the fluidized bed used to pneumatically transport the product can be monitored and controlled using beta-gauge techniques. Using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) techniques, alanine power mixed with the product is used for precise determination of dose delivered to the powder stream. Thin film dosimeters transported in the bed are also used for dose determination. Results with a variety of products are presented using both dose rate and velocity as the independent variables. Lethality data for the bioburdens present in several powdered foodstuffs are discussed.  相似文献

A behavioral response paradigm was used to measure hearing thresholds in bottlenose dolphins before and after exposure to 3 kHz tones with sound exposure levels (SELs) from 100 to 203 dB re 1 microPa2 s. Experiments were conducted in a relatively quiet pool with ambient noise levels below 55 dB re 1 microPa2/Hz at frequencies above 1 kHz. Experiments 1 and 2 featured 1-s exposures with hearing tested at 4.5 and 3 kHz, respectively. Experiment 3 featured 2-, 4-, and 8-s exposures with hearing tested at 4.5 kHz. For experiment 2, there were no significant differences between control and exposure sessions. For experiments 1 and 3, exposures with SEL=197 dB re 1 microPa2 s and SEL > or = 195 dB re 1 microPa2 s, respectively, resulted in significantly higher TTS4 than control sessions. For experiment 3 at SEL= 195 dB re 1 microPa2 s, the mean TTS4 was 2.8 dB. These data are consistent with prior studies of TTS in dolphins exposed to pure tones and octave band noise and suggest that a SEL of 195 dB re 1 microPa2 s is a reasonable threshold for the onset of TTS in dolphins and white whales exposed to midfrequency tones.  相似文献

From the stem bark of Albizzia julibrissin DURAZZ (Leguminosae), two new phenolic glycosides (albibrissinosides A and B) were isolated. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis. The bonding and self-assembly of a chirally organized monolayer of alanine on the Cu(110) surface has been investigated using reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy, low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). This multitechnique approach has enabled an in-depth understanding of the hierarchy of chirality transfer: from a single adsorbed molecule, to size-defined chiral clusters, and then to an overall chiral assembly. The data have indicated that the alanine is in its anionic form, bound to the copper surface through the oxygens of the ionized carboxylate group and the nitrogen of the neutral amino group. Importantly, the methyl group is held away from the surface, resulting in direct chirality transfer into the footprint of the adsorbed alanine molecules, with the local adsorption motif for S-alanine being the mirror image of that created for R-alanine. STM has shown that S-alanine molecules self-organize to form size-defined chiral clusters of six or eight molecules at the surface, interspersed with chiral channels of bare metal. Together, these clusters and channels further self-assemble into a chiral array with one unique chiral domain sustained across the entire surface. A similar chiral assembly, but with the mirror organization, has been observed for R-alanine. Structural models for the individual clusters are proposed, and in conjunction with LEED data, overall models for these chiral phases of both S- and R-alanine have been constructed. Overall, this adsorption system has been found to be both strongly chemisorbed and capable of extensive intermolecular H-bonding, causing stresses that lead not only to the chiral self-organization of molecules but also to a specific self-organization of the empty chiral channels and spaces that intersperse the structure which, in turn, chirally assemble across macroscopic length scales to give a surface with global organizational chirality.  相似文献
