Eco-friendly synthesis of 2-substituted-2,3-dihydro-4(1H)-quinazolinones in water

2-Substituted-2,3-dihydro-4(1H)-quinazolinones were synthesized in high yield by condensation of 2-anthranilamide with aromatic aldehydes or ketones in refluxing water without catalyst.This protocol has advantages of high yield,simple work-up and environmental friendly procedure.     

Effects of cosolvent on formation and morphology of microspheres in precipitation polymerization of divinylbenzene in supercritical carbon dioxide

Precipitation polymerizations of divinylbenzene(DVB) in pure supercritical carbon dioxide,and parallel runs with presence of a cosolvent were carried out.The results showed that use of acetone as the cosolvent contributed greatly to the formation of the monodisperse microspheres.PDVB microspheres,with obviously higher uniformity than reported up to date,were achieved using 6-7 mL of acetone in a reactor of 50 mL with DVB concentration of 0.4 mol/L under 16 MPa,a much lower pressure than previously reported without use of cosolvent.     

Crystal structure of β-cyclodextrin-4-chlorobenzoic acid complex:Unusual C-Cl…π interaction between 4-chlorobenzoic acids in β-cyclodextrin dimer

The inclusion complex ofβ-cyclodextrin（β-CD） with 4-chlorobenzoic acid was synthesized and its crystal structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction under cryogenic condition.The complex contains twoβ-CDs,two 4-chlorobenzoic acids and twenty-nine water molecules in the asymmetric unit,and can be formulated as 2(C₄₂H₇₀O₃₅)·2（C₇H₅O₂Cl）·29（H₂O）.In the crystal lattice,twoβ-CDs form a face-to-face dimer jointed together through hydrogen bonding between the secondary hydroxyl groups ofβ-CDs.Two 4-chlorobenzoic acid molecules which contact by C-Cl…πinteractions are included in theβ-CD dimer cavity.Theβ-CD dimers are arranged in brickwork-like pattern along the crystallographic a-axis.The effect of guest molecule length on the inclusion geometry was discussed by comparative study of someβ-CD complexes containing similar guests.     

Simple preparation and catalytic properties of ZnO for ozonation degradation of phenol in water

ZnO particles about 200 nm were prepared through a facile hydrothermal method.Compared with single ozonation,the degradation efficiency of phenol increased about 23.7%and the degradation efficiency of intermediates improved about four times in the presence of ZnO at 298 K.In addition,the catalyst had good stability in the ozonation process.The influence of temperature was investigated and it was found that the better catalysis efficiency could be obtained at lower temperature.     

Determination of diastereoisomeric alkaloids in urine by capillary electrophoresis with electrochemiluminescence detection

A new and simple capillary electrophoresis with electrochemiluminescence detection was developed for the separation and the quantification of a pair of diastereoisomenc alkaloids（ephedrine and pseudoephedrine）.The limits of detection（S/N = 3） were 4.5×10^-8 mol/L for ephedrine and 5.2×10^-8 mol/L for pseudoephedrine,respectively.The RSDs of migration time and peak area were less than 1.3 and 2.5%（n = 5）,respectively.The applicability of the propose method was illustrated in the determination of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine in human urine,ephedrine in nasal drops,and the monitoring of pharmacokinetics for pseudoephedrine.     

Kinetic study of oxidative coupling of methane over Mn and/or W promoted Na_2SO_4/SiO_2 catalysts

A comprehensive kinetic model for oxidative coupling of methane(OCM)over Mn and/or W promoted Na2SO4/SiO2 catalysts was developed based on a micro-catalytic reactor data.The methane conversion and ethylene,ethane,carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide selectivities were obtained in a wide operating condition range of 750 - 825-C,CH4/O2=2.5 - 10 and contact time=267 - 472 kg s m-3.Reaction networks of six models with different rate equation types were compared together.The kinetic rate parameters of each reaction network were estimated using linear regression or genetic algorithm optimization method(GA).A reaction network suggested by Stansch et al.for OCM was found to be the best one and was further used in this work.The suggested model could predict the experimental results of OCM reaction within a deviation range of ± 20%.     

A DFT theoretical study of CH_4 dissociation on gold-alloyed Ni(111)surface

A density-functional theory(DFT)method has been conducted to systematically investigate the adsorption of CHx(x=0～4)as well as the dissociation of CHx(x=1～4)on(111)facets of gold-alloyed Ni surface.The results have been compared with those obtained on pure Ni(111)surface.It shows that the adsorption energies of CHx(x=1～3)are lower,and the reaction barriers of CH4 dissociation are higher in the first and the fourth steps on gold-alloyed Ni(111)compared with those on pure Ni(111).In particular,the rate-determining step for CH4 dissociation is considered as the first step of dehydrogenation on gold-alloyed Ni(111),while it is the fourth step of dehydrogenation on pure Ni(111).Furthermore,the activation barrier in rate-determining step is higher by 0.41 eV on gold-alloyed Ni(111)than that on pure Ni(111).From above results,it can be concluded that carbon is not easy to form on gold-alloyed Ni(111)compared with that on pure Ni(111).     

Preparation and Characterization of Ordered Ladder Like Polyphenylsilsesquioxane via Two-step Sol-gel Method

Soluble and ordered ladder like polyphenylsilsesquioxane was synthesized by a two-step sol-gel method including hydrolysis and polycondensation. The procedure was monitored by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and the presence of the ladder like structure was confirmed by X-ray techniques. 29Si NMR analysis shows a very narrow half peak width(δ<4) at δ -78.866 of the main chain unit C6H5SiO3/2 of polyphenylsilsesquioxane, indicating that the polyphenylsilsesquioxane has ordered ladder like structures ...     

Photonic Bandgap Properties of Atom-lattice Photonic Crystals in Polymer

The present paper covers the various photonic crystals(PhCs) structures mimicking real atom-lattice structures in electronic crystals by using the femtosecond laser-induced two-photon photopolymerization of SU-8 resin. The bandgap properties were investigated by varying the crystal orientations in <111>, <110> and <100> of diamond-lattice PhCs. Synthesis, Structure and Luminescent Property of a Zinc(Ⅱ) Coordination Polymer Incorporating Flexible Cyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexacarboxylate Ligand

The hydrothermal reaction of Zn(NO3)2·4H2O, cyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexacarboxylic acid hydrate (H6LI·H2O, cis-conformation LI: a,e,a,e,a,e) and 2,2'-bpy yielded a new coordination polymer [Zn2(H2LII)(2,2'-bpy)]·2H2O(trans-conformation LII: e,e,e,e,e,e), which was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR and XRPD(X-ray powder diffraction). This complex crystallized in the triclinic system, with P1 space group and parameters a=0.66922(5) nm, b=0.97291(8) nm, c=1.22184(9) nm, ...
