The influence of the reactive diluents on properties of epoxy-thiokol adhesive compositions

The influence of mono- and diglycidyl diluents on the adhesion, deformation strength, and dynamic mechanical properties of the adhesive composition based on a product previously prepared by the thioetherification reaction between epoxy resin and liquid thiokol has been investigated. It has been shown that the introduction of the diluents into the composition leads to an increase in the tensile strength, failure strain, and the work of fracture of the material at a moderate change in the adhesion strength. The magnitude of the effect depends on the chemical nature of the diluent.     

The Effect of a Geometrical Parameter on the Deformation of a Hinged Flexible Noncircular Cylindrical Shell

The exact analytical solution of a nonlinear boundary-value problem is used to study the effect of a generalized geometric parameter, which characterizes thickness and curvature, on the subcritical and postcritical deformation of a hinged infinite noncircular cylindrical shell. The load on the shell is nonuniformly distributed over its cross section. The deflection of the shell is plotted for various values of the geometric parameter

Solution of the problem of the stress state of noncircular cylindrical shells of variable thickness

A procedure is proposed for solving two-dimensional boundary-value problems on the stress-strain state of open and closed noncircular cylindrical shells of variable thickness under surface loads.
