Quark-hadron duality in electron-pion scattering

We explore the relationship between exclusive and inclusive electromagnetic scattering from the pion, focusing on the transition region at intermediate Q². Combining Drell-Yan data on the leading twist quark distribution in the pion with a model for the resonance region at large x, we calculate QCD moments of the pion structure function over a range of Q², and quantify the role of higher twist corrections. Using a parameterization of the pion elastic form factor and phenomenological models for the π↦ρ transition form factor, we further test the extent to which local duality may be valid for the pion. Duality in algebra and topology

We apply ideas from commutative algebra, and Morita theory to algebraic topology using ring spectra. This allows us to prove new duality results in algebra and topology, and to view (1) Poincaré duality for manifolds, (2) Gorenstein duality for commutative rings, (3) Benson–Carlson duality for cohomology rings of finite groups, (4) Poincaré duality for groups and (5) Gross–Hopkins duality in chromatic stable homotopy theory as examples of a single phenomenon.     

Lorentz-Compton佯谬与一个双赢判决性散射实验设计

On Duality for a Class of Quasiconcave Multiplicative Programs

Multiplicative programs are a difficult class of nonconvex programs that have received increasing attention because of their many applications. However, given their nonconvex nature, few theoretical results are available. In this paper, we study a particular case of these programs which involves the maximization of a quasiconcave function over a linear constraint set. Using results from conjugate function theory and generalized geometric programming, we derive a complete duality theory. The results are further specialized to linear multiplicative programming.     

A New Quantum Analog of the Brauer Algebra

We introduce a new algebra depending on two nonzero complex parameters z and q such that its specialization at z=q ⁿ and q=1 coincides the Brauer algebra. We show that the action of the new algebra commutes with the representation of the twisted deformation of the enveloping algebra U(o _n) in the tensor power of the vector representation.     

A new proof for Rockafellar's characterization of maximal monotone operators

We provide a new and short proof for Rockafellar's characterization of maximal monotone operators in reflexive Banach spaces based on S. Fitzpatrick's function and a technique used by R. S. Burachik and B. F. Svaiter for proving their result on the representation of a maximal monotone operator by convex functions.

     

T-duality in Affine NA Toda Models

The construction of non-Abelian affine Toda models is discussed in terms of its underlying Lie algebraic structure. It is shown that a subclass of such non-conformal two-dimensional integrable models naturally leads to the construction of a pair of actions, which share the same spectra and are related by canonical transformations.     

Asymptotic properties of the fenchel dual functional and applications to decomposition problems

We study dual functionals which have two fundamental properties. Firstly, they have a good asymptotical behavior. Secondly, to each dual sequence of subgradients converging to zero, one can associate a primal sequence which converges to an optimal solution of the primal problem. Furthermore, minimal conditions for the convergence of the Gauss-Seidel methods are given and applied to such kinds of functionals.     

Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra structures on Hochschild cohomology of generalized Weyl algebras

We devote to the calculation of Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra structures on the Hochschild cohomology of skew Calabi–Yau generalized Weyl algebras. We first establish a Van den Bergh duality at the level of complex. Then based on the results of Solotar et al., we apply Kowalzig and Krähmer's method to the Hochschild homology of generalized Weyl algebras, and translate the homological information into cohomological one by virtue of the Van den Bergh duality, obtaining the desired Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra structures. Finally, we apply our results to quantum weighted projective lines and Podleś quantum spheres, and the Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra structures for them are described completely.
