Since searching for the global minimum on the potential energy surface of a cluster is very difficult, many geometry optimization methods have been proposed, in which initial geometries are randomly generated and subsequently improved with different algorithms. In this study, a size‐guided multi‐seed heuristic method is developed and applied to benzene clusters. It produces initial configurations of the cluster with n molecules from the lowest‐energy configurations of the cluster with n − 1 molecules (seeds). The initial geometries are further optimized with the geometrical perturbations previously used for molecular clusters. These steps are repeated until the size n satisfies a predefined one. The method locates putative global minima of benzene clusters with up to 65 molecules. The performance of the method is discussed using the computational cost, rates to locate the global minima, and energies of initial geometries. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The stuffed fullerene structures of medium-sized SiN ( ) clusters have been systemically studied using the all-electron density functional theory with gradient correction. For each cluster size, fullerene cages with different topologies and filled by different number of atoms were constructed and optimized to find the lowest-energy structure. The core atoms filled in the fullerene cages tend to form cage-like structures that resemble structural character of bulk diamond fragments. The size-dependent physical properties such as binding energies, electronic gaps, and ionization potentials have been discussed. Si45 exhibits relatively higher stability that can be associated with the low chemical reactivity observed by experiment.  相似文献

Advances to the distributed, multi-core and fully cross-platform QuBiLS-MIDAS software v2.0 ( http://tomocomd.com/qubils-midas ) are reported in this article since the v1.0 release. The QuBiLS-MIDAS software is the only one that computes atom-pair and alignment-free geometrical MDs (3D-MDs) from several distance metrics other than the Euclidean distance, as well as alignment-free 3D-MDs that codify structural information regarding the relations among three and four atoms of a molecule. The most recent features added to the QuBiLS-MIDAS software v2.0 are related (a) to the calculation of atomic weightings from indices based on the vertex-degree invariant (e.g., Alikhanidi index); (b) to consider central chirality during the molecular encoding; (c) to use measures based on clustering methods and statistical functions to codify structural information among more than two atoms; (d) to the use of a novel method based on fuzzy membership functions to spherically truncate inter-atomic relations; and (e) to the use of weighted and fuzzy aggregation operators to compute global 3D-MDs according to the importance and/or interrelation of the atoms of a molecule during the molecular encoding. Moreover, a novel module to compute QuBiLS-MIDAS 3D-MDs from their headings was also developed. This module can be used either by the graphical user interface or by means of the software library. By using the library, both the predictive models built with the QuBiLS-MIDAS 3D-MDs and the QuBiLS-MIDAS 3D-MDs calculation can be embedded in other tools. A set of predefined QuBiLS-MIDAS 3D-MDs with high information content and low redundancy on a set comprised of 20,469 compounds is also provided to be employed in further cheminformatics tasks. This set of predefined 3D-MDs evidenced better performance than all the universe of Dragon (v5.5) and PaDEL 0D-to-3D MDs in variability studies, whereas a linear independence study proved that these QuBiLS-MIDAS 3D-MDs codify chemical information orthogonal to the Dragon 0D-to-3D MDs. This set of predefined 3D-MDs would be periodically updated as long as new results be achieved. In general, this report highlights our continued efforts to provide a better tool for a most suitable characterization of compounds, and in this way, to contribute to obtaining better outcomes in future applications.  相似文献

Geometrical methods of feature extraction from ear images in order to perform human identification are presented. Geometrical approach is motivated by the actual procedures used by police and forensic experts (so-called ear otoscopy). In their work, geometrical features of ears such as size, height, width, and shapes of earlobe are useful and valid proofs of identity. The contribution of the article is development of the new and original methods of geometrical feature extraction from 2D ear images. Four novel algorithms of ear feature extraction from contour images are described in detail. Moreover, identification results obtained for each of the methods, based on the distance of feature vectors in the feature space, are presented.  相似文献

Based on unequidistant B-spline function, generalized spline subdomain displacement mode of rotational shell is obtained by taking double-direction interpolation of spline. The elastoplastic constitutive equation of shells is established by using the endochronic theory.According to the initial deflection theory of shells, the elastoplastic stress analysis of cylindrical shells with flat strip geometrical imperfection is studied. Numerical results show that the geometrical imperfection has a great effect on the stress distribution of shells.  相似文献

In this paper we present two-color pump and probe spectroscopy on Na2F, the smallest of the non-stoichiometric sodium-fluoride clusters (NanFn-1), in molecular beams by employing femtosecond laser pulses. The molecules were pumped into the first excited state by one photonic transition and consecutively ionized from there by the second photon. We resolved the wavepacket oscillatory motion involving periodical structural rearrangements in the first excited state of Na2F with a period of 185 fs. The time-resolved experiments show that sodium fluoride clusters provide interesting features which can be manipulated in optimal control experiments.  相似文献

The stability against fragmentation and possible relaxation of the lowest excited states of the Na5F4 cluster (representative of cubic non stoechiometric clusters with an excess sodium atom, also called sodium-tail) is investigated by means of one-electron pseudopotential calculations with particular reference to photoabsorption processes from the ground state. Whereas the equilibrium configuration of the ground state has C3v symmetry, the doubly degenerate 12E excited state is affected by a conical intersection and a Jahn-Teller effect associated with the rotation of the sodium tail around the C3-axis. This yields a “Mexican hat" topology for the lowest sheet with three equivalent Cs minima. Alternatively the 22A1 state has a minimum retaining the C3v symmetry. The dissociation paths of the cluster along the C3-axis into respectively Na4F4 + Na and Na4F3 + NaF are also investigated. Among the former paths, the excited states are found adiabatically stable with respect to the products. However in the A1 symmetry, fragmentation into NaF exhibits an interesting avoided crossing between configurations correlated respectively with Na4F3 + + NaF- and Na4F3 + NaF. Such interaction, similar to the well-known charge exchange processes in elementary molecules might induce non adiabatic predissociation of the 22A1 state. This mechanism is invoked to explain the differences between R2PI and depletion spectra, correlated with the dissociation or relaxation of the excited states.
