We study experimentally the impact of a plastic bead on a rotating wall made of steel (velocity Ω; radial position x0). The results show that the restitution coefficient is directly function of the impact velocity x0Ω and is invariant by changing frame reference. The influence of the height of release of the particle on its angular velocity after impact is also studied. We observe an increase of the angular velocity with height followed by a saturation. We propose an interpretation for this evolution considering that the particle may roll without sliding during all the impact. We report molecular dynamics simulation of crystallization of model alkane systems conducted under constant pressure conditions. We have studied crystallization of n-eicosane (C20H42) and n-hexacontane (C60 H122) under quiescent and shearing conditions. We find preshearing before subjecting the melt to quiescent crystallization enhances the crystallization of higher molecular weight hexacontane, whereas, for low molecular weight eicosane, no significant change can be detected. For both alkanes applying steady planar shear significantly speeds up the crystallization. The crystal growth rate increases with the shear rate. However, we find that the critical shear rate above which the crystallization is enhanced, is inversely proportional to the size of the chains. In all cases the Weissenberg numbers of the sheared systems are moderate. We estimate them to be in the range of 0.01–10. Our quiescent simulations for eicosane predict crystallization temperature and lattice parameters of the crystalline phase in good agreement with experimental measurements. We have compared an order parameter used in the simulations against one analogous to that used in dilatometry experiments. Using this order parameter as a measure of crystallinity we predict the crystal growth rate of n-eicosane to be a maximum at ∼300 K in good agreement with experiments. Fitting crystallization growth data to Avrami's model we have calculated Avrami growth functions and exponents for many cases. For quiescent crystallization of n-eicosane we found the Avrami exponent calculated using our order parameter for defining degree of crystallinity, agrees well with that obtained in the experiments. For C60 the crystallization process is very slow at quiescent conditions; however preshearing enhances the crystal growth.  相似文献

The complete solution for the pressure and the velocity field up to O(De) of a dilute suspension of neutrally buoyant, non-Brownian rigid spheres suspended in an unbounded, weakly viscoelastic matrix fluid, where is the solid volume fraction and De is the Deborah number of the matrix fluid, is presented. The spheres are subjected to an arbitrary linear velocity profile at infinity. The analytical solution is used for the prediction of the bulk stress, and specifically for the calculation of the first and the second normal stress differences in simple shear and uniaxial elongational flows. A comparison of the results with available values reported in the literature is also offered. The final expressions for the bulk normal stress differences in shear and uniaxial elongational flow fully agree with those reported earlier by Greco et al., J. Non-Newton. 制备了一系列具有不同界面状态的聚丙烯 (PP) 硫酸钡 (BaSO4)复合体 .PP BaSO4的界面分别用硅烷、硬脂酸、马来酸酐接枝聚丙烯 (PP g MAH)改性 .研究表明 ,填充体系的熔体粘度和熔体弹性均高于基体 .以硅烷和PP g MAH进行界面改性后 ,PP BaSO4的界面相互作用加强 ,导致复合体系中的熔体粘度和熔体弹性进一步提高 ,同时BaSO4对PP的成核活性提高 .填料用硬脂酸处理后 ,硬脂酸能够在填料粒子表面上形成一个包覆层 ,使粒子与PP的亲和性改善 .同时该包覆层具有润滑作用 ,使得复合体系的熔体粘度和熔体弹性下降 ,并使得该体系中BaSO4的成核活性低于硅烷和处理的体系 .本文探讨了由复合体系的熔体粘度定量比较填充复合体系中聚合物 填料界面相互作用的方法 ,讨论了界面改性对复合体系流变性质和结晶行为影响的机理  相似文献

研究了Fe-Al-Mg型混合金属氢氧化物(简称MMH)/钠质蒙脱土(简称MT)分散体系的触变性,发现在不同MMH/MT质量比(R)条件下,分散体系可分别呈现正触变性和负触变性.在所研究的R范围(0~0.091)内,随R增大,体系的触变性发生正触变性-复合触变性-负触变性的转化.考察了高速剪切分散后,测定粘度变化前的静置时间(ts)和测定粘度时的剪切速率(DL)对触变性的影响.探讨了各种触变性产生的原因,提出了“分散粒子-空间连续网络结构-密实聚集体”和“分散粒子-密实聚集体-密实聚集体簇”机理,较合理地解释了观察到的复合触变现象.  相似文献

A slight rearrangement of the classical Cox and Merz rule suggests that the shear stress value of steady shear flow, , and complex modulus value of small amplitude oscillatory shear, G ∗ (ω) = (G′2 + G″2)1/2, are equivalent in many respects. Small changes of material structure, which express themselves most sensitively in the steady shear stress, τ, show equally pronounced in linear viscoelastic data when plotting these with G ∗  as one of the variables. An example is given to demonstrate this phenomenon: viscosity data that cover about three decades in frequency get stretched out over about nine decades in G ∗  while maintaining steep gradients in a transition region. This suggests a more effective way of exploiting the Cox–Merz rule when it is valid and exploring reasons for lack of validity when it is not. The τ −G ∗  equivalence could also further the understanding of the steady shear normal stress function as proposed by Laun.  相似文献
