一种分子形成的多层L-B膜由于相邻层的分子取向相反而使非线性极化抵消,总的X~(2)=0.本文用光学二次谐波方法确定了带有不同极性基团的L-B单分子层的有效非线性系数的大小和符号,对有效非线性系数符号相反的两种单分子层交替组装,使相邻单分子层的非线性极化相互叠加,得到了具有较大二阶非线性系数的组装L-B膜.  相似文献

Experiments were performed on ultrathin (ca. 35 nm thick) Langmuir-Blodgett films of a double-bond-containing material (vinyl tetracosanoate). The melting/flow point of this deposited material, before and afterin situ polymerization by means of electron beams, was determined by using a Mettler FP5/52 hot stage in conjunction with a polarizing microscope. The melting/flow point observed in the deposited films was found to be higher than the bulk melting point as determined by the capillary method or differential scanning calorimetry. This apparent violation of the principle that a given substance's melting point becomes lower as the sample becomes thinner is explained in terms of the fact that the thin-film process observed is really a combination of two processes, initial melting and subsequent de-wetting, whereas the bulk process involves melting alone.  相似文献

We studied surface organization of lipophilic guanosine derivatives with one, two and three alkanoyl tails in thin films on water surface and in Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films transferred onto freshly cleaved mica substrate. The derivative with one alkanoyl group exhibits irreversible pressure-area isotherms and ribbon-like LB film structures. The derivatives with two and three side groups show reversible isotherms with similar critical surface pressures, while their LB film structures are quite different. The derivative with two tails forms films with flat terraces of micrometer size, while the derivative with three tails exhibits irregular thread-shaped assemblies. These observations demonstrate that molecular assembly of LB films of guanosine derivatives can be effectively manipulated by altering the number of attached lipophilic groups.  相似文献

Four compounds, N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-p-phenylene diamine, N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-benzidine, 4,4'-bis(dimethylamino)azobenzene and bis(4-dimethylaminophenylimino)sulfur (BAPIS) were examined electrochemically and spectroscopically. Each was shown to be a fairly good donor forming in its first oxidation state a radical-cation. The latter two materials surprisingly exhibited only single one-electron oxidations. Conformational flexibility about the -NSN- unit was studied by NMR spectroscopy and ab initio molecular orbital theory. The experimental ΔG* for a cis-trans to trans-cis interconversion in BAPIS was found to be 11.9 kcal/mole.

The four donors all form 1:1 adducts with TCNQ. The compaction resistances of the complexes have been measured as a function of temperature. Of the four, (BAPIS)(TCNQ) appears to be a one-dimensional material. The other three complexes behave as typical mixed stack organic semiconductors.  相似文献

This paper reports on the interest for developing thin scintillating films deposited on various substrates for scintillation purposes. The first part will present some advantages of films for fundamental studies. Mainly they are helpful (when deposited on CaF 2 ) for spectroscopic measurements when absorption coefficient is very high (as for CeF 3 ) or when excitation energies are near the fundamental absorption edge. When deposited on silicon substrate, photoelectron spectroscopy may be performed without any charging effects. The second part describes applications using film shaped scintillators, like high resolution X-ray imaging.  相似文献

The synthesis of combinatorial Bi2−xSbxSe3 thin films by arrested precipitation technique (APT) using triethanolamine-bismuth, triethanolamine-antimony and sodium selenosulphite as sources of Bi3+, Sb3+ and Se2−, respectively is investigated on commercial glass substrates. The growth mechanism of film formation, composition and surface morphology of the as deposited films were studied as a function of preparative parameters and bath composition. The films were monophasic, polycrystalline and covered the surface of the substrate completely. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis gave coherent elemental composition indicating single phase BiSbSe3 was made. The good results obtained for Bi2−xSbxSe3 thin films revealed that arrested precipitation technique is best suited for the deposition of large area thin films on conducting/nonconducting substrates to produce materials for device applications.  相似文献

Molecular depth profiling and three-dimensional imaging using cluster projectiles and SIMS have become a prominent tool for organic and biological materials characterization. To further explore the fundamental features of cluster bombardment of organic materials, especially depth resolution and differential sputtering, we have developed a reproducible and robust model system consisting of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) multilayer films. Molecular depth profiles were acquired, using a 40-keV C60+ probe, with LB films chemically alternating between barium arachidate and barium dimyristoyl phosphatidate. The chemical structures were successfully resolved as a function of depth. The molecular ion signals were better preserved when the experiment was performed under cryogenic conditions than at room temperature. A novel method was used to convert the scale of fluence into depth which facilitated quantitative measurement of the interface width. Furthermore, the LB films were imaged as a function of depth. The reconstruction of the SIMS images correctly represented the original chemical structure of the film. It also provided useful information about interface mixing and edge effects during sputtering.  相似文献

Abstract

The effect of ion-plasma deposition on the structure of high-carbon films (at. %) Fe–(20–84) % С, Co–(5–52) % С, Ni–(7–61) % С was investigated. The lattice periods and crystallite sizes of nonequilibrium phases in the as-deposited state and after heating are determined. The temperatures of the beginning and end of the decay of metastable phases during heating at a constant speed are established. The transition from an amorphous to an equilibrium crystalline state in Fe–C films passes through the stage of formation and subsequent decomposition of an intermediate, metastable hcp phase of variable composition. The electrical and hysteretic magnetic properties of the films were measured in the as-deposited state and after heat treatment. The compositions and conditions for producing films with low values of the temperature coefficient of electrical resistance and high coercive force are established. Thus, high-carbon films of Ni–61% C in the as-depoteted state and Fe–69% C films after heating to 900?K are characterized by small TCR values (± 10?6 К?1) over a wide temperature range.  相似文献

A series of water soluble, surface-active ionic liquids (SAILs), namely, 1-alkyl-3-methyl imidazolium chlorides ([Cn-mim]Cl) and their mixtures with palmitic acid (PA) are investigated in Langmuir monolayers and Langmuir–Blodgett films. It is inferred from the surface pressure-area isotherms that C16-mim-IL mixes non-ideally with PA and stabilizes the binary mixed films. In addition, the residence of mim-IL at the water surface is enhanced as a function of the increasing alkyl side chain length. Generally, the compressional moduli values decrease upon increasing the content of the mim-ILs over a wide range of compositions. Furthermore, film relaxation measurements indicate that the IL component is selectively excluded from the mixed films upon achieving a certain target pressure. Brewster angle microscope images demonstrate minimal changes on the PA domains in the presence of either C4- and C8-mim-ILs, whereas presence of the hexadecyl counterpart results in the formation of condensed sheets. Atomic force microscopy imaging of deposited films show the formation of propeller-like aggregates when C8- or C16-mim-IL is present in the mixed films.  相似文献
