We present artificial boundary conditions for the numerical simulation of compressible flows using high-order accurate discretizations with the discontinuous Galerkin (DG) finite element method. The construction of the proposed boundary conditions is based on characteristic analysis and applied for boundaries with arbitrary shape and orientation. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed boundary treatment enables to convect out of the computational domain complex flow features with little distortion. In addition, it is shown that small-amplitude acoustic disturbances could be convected out of the computational domain, with no significant deterioration of the overall accuracy of the method. Furthermore, it was found that application of the proposed boundary treatment for viscous flow over a cylinder yields superior performance compared to simple extrapolation methods.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of geometry on the ground-state ordering of artificially frustrated magnetic rectangular and triangular lattices by Monte Carlo method. By varying the vertical lattice spacing while keeping the horizontal one fixed, we show that when the ratio of vertical to horizontal lattice spacing, labeled by η, is less than 1.82, the ground state of the rectangular lattice presents long-range antiferromagnetic order and for η?1.82 the ground state changes to long-range mixed ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic order. For the frustrated triangular lattice, the short-range ordered state as well as two long-range ordered ground states occurs transiently at η=0.87 and 2, where the energies of the two ground states with long-range order are approximately equal. In addition, the level of frustration of both frustrated lattices is found to be largely relevant to the ratio η.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel discrete artificial bee colony (DABC) algorithm for solving the multi-objective flexible job shop scheduling problem with maintenance activities. Performance criteria considered are the maximum completion time so called makespan, the total workload of machines and the workload of the critical machine. Unlike the original ABC algorithm, the proposed DABC algorithm presents a unique solution representation where a food source is represented by two discrete vectors and tabu search (TS) is applied to each food source to generate neighboring food sources for the employed bees, onlooker bees, and scout bees. An efficient initialization scheme is introduced to construct the initial population with a certain level of quality and diversity. A self-adaptive strategy is adopted to enable the DABC algorithm with learning ability for producing neighboring solutions in different promising regions whereas an external Pareto archive set is designed to record the non-dominated solutions found so far. Furthermore, a novel decoding method is also presented to tackle maintenance activities in schedules generated. The proposed DABC algorithm is tested on a set of the well-known benchmark instances from the existing literature. Through a detailed analysis of experimental results, the highly effective and efficient performance of the proposed DABC algorithm is shown against the best performing algorithms from the literature.  相似文献

Four rapid and low-cost vanguard analytical systems (NIR and UV-vis spectroscopy, a headspace-mass based artificial nose and a voltammetric artificial tongue), together with chemometric pattern recognition techniques, were applied and compared in addressing a food authentication problem: the distinction between wine samples from the same Italian oenological region, according to the grape variety.Specifically, 59 certified samples belonging to the Barbera d’Alba and Dolcetto d’Alba appellations and collected from the same vintage (2007) were analysed.The instrumental responses, after proper data pre-processing, were used as fingerprints of the characteristics of the samples: the results from principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis were discussed, comparing the capability of the four analytical strategies in addressing the problem studied.  相似文献

Bone adaptation models are often solved in the forward direction, meaning that the response of bone to a given set of loads is determined by running a bone tissue adaptation model. The model is generally solved using a numerical technique such as the finite element model. Conversely, one may be interested in the loads that have resulted in a given state of bone. This is the inverse of the former problem. Even though the inverse problem has several applications, it has not received as much attention as the forward problem, partly because solving the inverse problem is more difficult. A nonlinear system identification technique is needed for solving the inverse problem. In this study, we use artificial neural networks for prediction of tissue adaptation loads from a given density distribution of trabecular bone. It is shown that the proposed method can successfully identify the loading parameters from the density distribution of the tissue. Two important challenges for all load prediction algorithms are the non-uniqueness of the solution of the inverse problem and the inaccuracies in the measurement of the morphology of the tissue. Both challenges are studied, and it is shown that the load prediction technique proposed in this paper can overcome both.  相似文献

A slab optical waveguide (SOWG) has been used for study of adsorption of both methylene blue (MB) and new methylene blue (NMB) in liquid-solid interface. Adsorption characteristics of MB and NMB on both bare SOWG and silanized SOWG by octadecyltrichlorosilane (ODS) were compared. The simultaneous determinations of both MB and NMB were explored by flow injection SOWG spectrophotometric analysis and artificial neural networks (ANNs) for the first time. Concentrations of MB and NMB were estimated simultaneously with the ANNs. Results obtained with SOWG were compared with those got by conventional UV-visible spectrophotometry.  相似文献

Predictive performances of a number of modeling paradigms (namely, linear models, log-linear structures, classical ratios and artificial neural networks) are compared with regard to the problem of modeling a number of the most outstanding accounting ratio relations. This work investigates the structure of a diffusion flame in terms of lengthscales, scalar dissipation, and flame orientation by using large eddy simulation. This has been performed for a turbulent, non-premixed, piloted methane/air jet flame (Flame D) at a Reynolds-number of 22,400. A steady flamelet model, which was represented by artificial neural networks, yields species mass fractions, density, and viscosity as a function of the mixture fraction. This will be shown to suffice to simulate such flames. To allow to examine scalar dissipation, a grid of 1.97 × 106 nodes was applied that resolves more than 75% of the turbulent kinetic energy. The accuracy of the results is assessed by varying the grid-resolution and by comparison to experimental data by Barlow, Frank, Karpetis, Schneider (Sandia, Darmstadt), and others. The numerical procedure solves the filtered, incompressible transport equations for mass, momentum, and mixture fraction. For subgrid closure, an eddy viscosity/diffusivity approach is applied, relying on the dynamic Germano model. Artificial turbulent inflow velocities were generated to feature proper one- and two-point statistics. The results obtained for both the one- and two-point statistics were found in good agreement to the experimental data. The PDF of the flame orientation shows the tilting of the flame fronts towards the centerline. Finally, the steady flamelet approach was found to be sufficient for this type of flame unless slowly reacting species are of interest.  相似文献

Differential evolution (DE) is generally considered as a reliable, accurate, robust and fast optimization technique. DE has been successfully applied to solve a wide range of numerical optimization problems. However, the user is required to set the values of the control parameters of DE for each problem. Such parameter tuning is a time consuming task. In this paper, a self-adaptive DE (SDE) algorithm which eliminates the need for manual tuning of control parameters is empirically analyzed. The performance of SDE is investigated and compared with other well-known approaches. The experiments conducted show that SDE generally outperform other DE algorithms in all the benchmark functions. Moreover, the performance of SDE using the ring neighborhood topology is investigated.  相似文献
