The complexation of triprolidine hydrochloride (TRP) and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) in deuterium oxide was investigated by 400 MHz 1^H NMR spectroscopy. The 800 MHz 2D ROESY data revealed that two 1 :1 and one 2 : 1 β-CD-TRP inclusion complexes were formed. Both aromatic moieties (p-tolyl and pyridyl ring) has entered into the β-CD cavity, confirming the existence of two different equilibria for 1 : 1 inclusion complexes in which p-tolyl ring of the guest is more tightly held by the host cavity. The ROE intermolecular interactions provided the plausible structures of these 1 : 1 and 2 : 1 stoichiometric inclusion complexes of β-CD-triprolidine hydrochloride in solu- tion.  相似文献

As a continuation of our previous investigation, interactions between cyclodextrin (β-CD), γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) and alkyl trimethylammonium bromides in aqueous solutions have been studied with titration calorimetry and 1H NMR at 298.15 K. The results are discussed in terms of the amphiphilic interaction of CD with surfactants and the iceberg structure formed by water molecules existing around the hydrophobic tail of surfactant molecules. The stoichiometry of the β-CD–surfactant system is 1:1 whereas that of the γ-CD–surfactant system is 1:2. The corresponding formation enthalpy (negative) of the complexes of the two systems decreases with an increase in the number of carbon atoms (n) in hydrophobic chain of surfactant molecule, C n H2n+1, whereas the entropy increases with the enlargement of n.  相似文献

Rhodamine B-ethylenediamine--cyclodextrins (RhB--CDen) and rhodamine B--cyclodextrins (RhB--CD) can form inclusive complexes with many guest molecules, a reaction which can be used as a nucleic acid probe. In this paper, the most stable conformations of RhB--CDen and RhB--CD have been determined by fluorescence experiments and analyzed by molecular modeling simulation. The interaction between RhB--CDen and two guest molecules, 1-borneol and cyclohexanol, has also been investigated. The results showed that RhB--CDen has a stronger interaction with 1-borneol than with cyclohexanol. Borneol could push the three aromatic-rings of rhodamine B out of the CD cavity, while the cyclohexanol could not. The interactive sites of host and guest are also presented.  相似文献

A series of water-soluble cyclophanes, made by connecting two diarylmethane units and two bridging chains via four nitrogens, were found to provide hydrophobic cavities of definite shape and size for forming inclusion complexes with various organic compounds in aqueous solution. Some chemical modifications of these cyclophanes are described. This paper is dedicated to Professor D. J. Cram to celebrate his honor in receiving the 1987 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.  相似文献

The vapor absorbency of the series of alcohols methanol, ethanol, 1‐propanol, 1‐butanol, and 1‐pentanol was characterized on the single‐crystal adsorbents [MII2(bza)4(pyz)]n (bza=benzoate, pyz=pyrazine, M=Rh ( 1 ), Cu ( 2 )). The crystal structures of all the alcohol inclusions were determined by single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography at 90 K. The crystal‐phase transition induced by guest adsorption occurred in the inclusion crystals except for 1‐propanol. A hydrogen‐bonded dimer of adsorbed alcohol was found in the methanol‐ and ethanol‐inclusion crystals, which is similar to a previous observation in 2 ?2EtOH (S. Takamizawa, T. Saito, T. Akatsuka, E. Nakata, Inorg. Chem. 2005 , 44, 1421–1424). In contrast, an isolated monomer was present in the channel for 1‐propanol, 1‐butanol, and 1‐pentanol inclusions. All adsorbed alcohols were stabilized by hydrophilic and/or hydrophobic interactions between host and guest. From the combined results of microscopic determination (crystal structure) and macroscopic observation (gas‐adsorption property), the observed transition induced by gas adsorption is explained by stepwise inclusion into the individual cavities, which is called the “step‐loading effect.” Alcohol/water separation was attempted by a pervaporation technique with microcrystals of 2 dispersed in a poly(dimethylsiloxane) membrane. In the alcohol/water separation, the membrane showed effective separation ability and gave separation factors (alcohol/water) of 5.6 and 4.7 for methanol and ethanol at room temperature, respectively.  相似文献

A series of calixarene carboxylic acid derivatives were synthesized for the extraction of amino acids. A calix[6]arene carboxylic acid derivative showed the highest extractability to the target tryptophan ester. The main driving forcefor the complexation was the interaction between the ammonium cation of the aminoacid and the oxygen atoms of the host molecule. Stripping of amino acids was alsoaccomplished by contacting the organic solution with a fresh acidic solution. Basedon slope and Job method analyses, it was confirmed that the calix[6]arene formsa 1 : 1 complex with the amino acid ester. The structure of the complex between the calix[6]arene and the amino acid was investigated by 1H-NMR and CD spectra. The calix[6]arene includes a guest molecule in the cavity, and the inclusion induces the asymmetrization of the host molecule. This host compound functions as a novel recognition tool for amino acids.  相似文献

Novel molecular clips with anthracene sidewalls (1 a-c) were synthesized; they form stable host-guest complexes with a variety of electron-deficient aromatic and quinoid molecules. According to single-crystal structure analyses of clip 1 c and 1,2,4,5-tetracyanobenzene (TCNB) complex 14@1 b, the clips' anthracene sidewalls have to be compressed substantially during the complex formation to provide attractive pi-pi interactions between the aromatic guest molecule and the two anthracene sidewalls in the complex. The compression and expansion of aromatic sidewalls are calculated by molecular mechanics to be low-energy processes, so the energy required for compression of the anthracene sidewalls during complex formation is apparently overcompensated by the gain in energy resulting from the attractive pi-pi interactions. The finding that complexes of the clips 1 a-c are more stable than those of the corresponding clips 2 a-c can be explained in terms of the larger van der Waals contact surfaces of the anthracene sidewalls in 1 a-c (relative to the naphthalene sidewalls in 2 a-c). Color changes resulting from charge-transfer (CT) bands are observed in complex formation by 1 a-c: from colorless to red or purple with TCNB (14), and from yellow to green with 2,4,7-trinitro-9-fluorenone TNF (17). Independently, the host 1 b and guest 14 fluoresce from their respective excited singlet states, whilst in the complex 14@1 b the charge-transfer state quenches the higher-energy singlet states of the two components, and as a result luminescence is only observed from this new CT state. To the best of our knowledge, complex 14@1 b is the first example of CT luminescence from a host-guest complex. The binding constant determined for the formation of the TCNB complex 14@1 b from a UV/Vis titration experiment (Ka = 12 400 m(-1)) agrees well with the value (K(a) = 12 800 m(-1)) obtained by 1H NMR titration.  相似文献

The structure elucidation of a new zinc phosphate [Co(II)(en)(3)][Zn(4)(H(2)PO(4))(3)(HPO(4))(2)(PO(4))(2 H(2)O)(2)] (1) reveals that the racemic cobalt complex templates the zinc phosphate framework in such a way that the local C(2) point symmetry of the structural motif of the inorganic framework conforms with that of the cobalt complex pairing with it, in essence transferring its chirality to the inorganic host. An analysis of hydrogen bonding between the guest molecules and the inorganic host framework reveals that hydrogen bonding is responsible for the stereospecific structural arrangement. Upon examining previously reported chiral metal-complex-templated structures of metal phosphates, it is revealed that such hydrogen bonding is the common origin for inducing chirality transfer in metal-phosphate frameworks templated with chiral metal complexes. Host 1 was designed and synthesized as a fluorescent sensor for 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate (BPG, 3). The design features a tris-functionalized triethylbenzene core to preorganize binding groups. The three cationic moieties, a tetra-N-oxide bipyridine-europium complex and two ammonium groups, were included to complement the three anionic functionalities on the guest. Beyond acting as a binding site, the europium complex was used to signal binding of the guest through modification of the charge transfer emission. A 1:1 complex with BPG was determined in 50 % methanol/acetonitrile with a K(a) of 6.7 x 10(5) mol(-1) by monitoring the reduction of the fluorescence signal upon guest addition. In the titration of related glycolytic intermediates lacking a second phosphate (4-6) into host 1, 2:1 host to guest binding was observed. Similarly, control compound 2, which lacks the ammonium groups, binds BPG and 4-6 in a 2:1 fashion. Also, phenylphosphate 7 binds to host 1 in a 1:1 stoichiometry with a K(a) over three times less than 3.  相似文献
