Numerical solutions for jump-diffusions with regime switching

This paper is devoted to numerical solutions for a class of jump-diffusions with regime switching. After briefly reviewing the notion of jump-diffusions with regime switching, finite-difference procedures are constructed. Under simple conditions, it is proved that the algorithm converges to the desired limit by means of a martingale problem formulation. Numerical experiments are carried out to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm.     

Cup and cap products in intersection (co)homology

We construct cup and cap products in intersection (co)homology with field coefficients. The existence of the cap product allows us to give a new proof of Poincaré duality in intersection (co)homology which is similar in spirit to the usual proof for ordinary (co)homology of manifolds.     

Solvability and continuous dependence results for second order nonlinear evolution inclusions with a Volterra-type operator

The paper deals with second order nonlinear evolution inclusions and their applications. We study evolution inclusions involving a Volterra-type integral operator, which are considered within the framework of an evolution triple of spaces. First, we deliver a result on the unique solvability of the Cauchy problem for the inclusion by combining a surjectivity result for multivalued pseudomonotone operators and the Banach contraction principle. Next, we provide a theorem on the continuous dependence of the solution to the inclusion with respect to the operators involved in the problem. Finally, we consider a dynamic frictional contact problem of viscoelasticity for materials with long memory and indicate how the result on evolution inclusion is applicable to the model of the contact problem.

We study “large” nonnegative solutions for a class of quasilinear equations model of which is We give a sufficient condition on the exponents and for the removability of isolated singularities.     

Well‐posedness of fractional integro‐differential equations in vector‐valued functional spaces

We study the well‐posedness of the fractional differential equations with infinite delay on Lebesgue–Bochner spaces and Besov spaces , where A and B are closed linear operators on a Banach space X satisfying ,  and . Under suitable assumptions on the kernels a and b, we completely characterize the well‐posedness of in the above vector‐valued function spaces on by using known operator‐valued Fourier multiplier theorems. We also give concrete examples where our abstract results may be applied.     

Reasoning about proof and knowledge

In previous work [15], we presented a hierarchy of classical modal systems, along with algebraic semantics, for the reasoning about intuitionistic truth, belief and knowledge. Deviating from Gödel's interpretation of IPC in S4, our modal systems contain IPC in the way established in [13]. The modal operator can be viewed as a predicate for intuitionistic truth, i.e. proof. Epistemic principles are partially adopted from Intuitionistic Epistemic Logic IEL [4]. In the present paper, we show that the S5-style systems of our hierarchy correspond to an extended Brouwer–Heyting–Kolmogorov interpretation and are complete w.r.t. a relational semantics based on intuitionistic general frames. In this sense, our S5-style logics are adequate and complete systems for the reasoning about proof combined with belief or knowledge. The proposed relational semantics is a uniform framework in which also IEL can be modeled. Verification-based intuitionistic knowledge formalized in IEL turns out to be a special case of the kind of knowledge described by our S5-style systems.     

Properties of G-martingales with finite variation and the application to G-Sobolev spaces

As is known, if $B={\left(B_t\right)}_{t\in [0,T]}$ is a $G$-Brownian motion, a process of form ${\int }_0^t{\eta }_{s}d{〈B〉}_s?{\int }_0^{t}2G\left({\eta }_s\right)ds$, $\eta \in M_G^1(0,T)$, is a non-increasing $G$-martingale. In this paper, we shall show that a non-increasing $G$-martingale cannot be form of ${\int }_0^t{\eta }_{s}ds$ or ${\int }_0^t{\gamma }_{s}d{〈B〉}_s$, $\eta ,\gamma \in M_G^1(0,T)$, which implies that the decomposition for generalized $G$-Itô processes is unique: For arbitrary $\zeta \in H_G^1(0,T)$, $\eta \in M_G^1(0,T)$ and non-increasing $G$-martingales $K,L$, if ${\int }_0^t{\zeta }_{s}d{B}_s+{\int }_0^t{\eta }_{s}ds+K_t=L_t,t\in [0,T],$then we have $\eta \equiv 0$, $\zeta \equiv 0$ and$K_t=L_t$. As an application, we give a characterization to the $G$-Sobolev spaces introduced in Peng and Song (2015).     

Schatten properties,nuclearity and minimality of phase shift invariant spaces

We extend Feichtinger's minimality property on the smallest non-trivial time-frequency shift invariant Banach space, to the quasi-Banach case. Analogous properties are deduced for certain matrix spaces.We use these results to prove that the pseudo-differential operator $\mathrm{Op}(a)$ is a Schatten-q operator from $M^{\infty }$ to $M^p$ and r-nuclear operator from $M^{\infty }$ to $M^r$ when $a\in M^r$ for suitable p, q and r in $(0,\infty ]$.     

Existence for evolutionary problems with linear growth by stability methods

We establish that solutions to the Cauchy–Dirichlet problem

for functionals $f:\mathrm{\Omega }\times {\mathbb{R}}^{N\times n}\to [0,\infty )$ of linear growth can be obtained as limits of solutions to flows with p-growth in the limit $p\downarrow 1$. The result can be interpreted on the one hand as a stability result. On the other hand it provides an existence result for general flows with linear growth.
