In this paper, the p-version hybrid/mixed finite element formulation using the Hu–Washizu principle is presented. The shape functions are assumed to be hierarchical for the displacement variables. The stresses and the strains are interpolated using Legendre polynomials so that the computation of the stiffness matrix will be simplified. For 2-D problems, the higher-order hierarchical shape functions start following the 8-node, quadrilateral shape functions. The geometry mapping of each element is also performed using an 8-node parametric mapping. Numerical examples for a plate with a circular hole and circular inclusion are included. 相似文献

We study infinitesimal properties of nonsmooth (nondifferentiable) functions on smooth manifolds. The eigenvalue function of a matrix on the manifold of symmetric matrices gives a natural example of such a nonsmooth function.
A subdifferential calculus for lower semicontinuous functions is developed here for studying constrained optimization problems, nonclassical problems of calculus of variations, and generalized solutions of first-order partial differential equations on manifolds. We also establish criteria for monotonicity and invariance of functions and sets with respect to solutions of differential inclusions.

In this paper limiting distribution functions of field and density fluctuations are explicitly and rigorously computed for the different phases of the Bose gas. Several Gaussian and non-Gaussian distribution functions are obtained and the dependence on boundary conditions is explicitly derived. The model under consideration is the free Bose gas subjected to attractive boundary conditions, such boundary conditions yield a gap in the spectrum. The presence of a spectral gap and the method of the coupled thermodynamic limits are the new aspects of this work, leading to new scaling exponents and new fluctuation distribution functions. 相似文献

We introduce and study a Hopf algebra containing the descent algebra as a sub-Hopf-algebra. It has the main algebraic properties of the descent algebra, and more: it is a sub-Hopf-algebra of the direct sum of the symmetric group algebras; it is closed under the corresponding inner product; it is cocommutative, so it is an enveloping algebra; it contains all Lie idempotents of the symmetric group algebras. Low-temperature heat capacity of the coordination compound of nickel(II) nitrate with 4-amine-1,2,4-triazole was measured in the temperature range from 11 to 317 K using a computerized vacuum adiabatic calorimeter. The thermodynamic functions have been derived from the smoothed experimental data over the whole temperature interval covered and at standard conditions. At 298.15 K, the heat capacity is 574.7±1.2 J K-1 mol-1, the entropy is 599.2±1.2 J K-1 mol-1, the enthalpy is 91070±200 J mol-1, and the reduced Gibbs energy is 293.7±1.2 J K-1 mol-1. The results on Cp(T) were compared with those for Cu(NH2trz)3(NO3)2·0.5H2O. It was revealed that the slope of the curve dCp/dT (T) changes essentially for both compounds at 110-120 K. It implies that additional degrees of freedom appear in the heat capacity at these temperatures.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date. 相似文献

In design optimization and parameter identification, the objective, or response function(s) are typically linked to the actually independent variables through equality constraints, which we will refer to as state equations. Our key assumption is that it is impossible to form and factor the corresponding constraint Jacobian, but one has instead some fixed-point algorithm for computing a feasible state, given any reasonable value of the independent variables. Assuming that this iteration is eventually contractive, we will show how reduced gradients (Jacobians) and Hessians (in other words, the total derivatives) of the response(s) with respect to the independent variables can be obtained via algorithmic, or automatic, differentiation (AD). In our approach the actual application of the so-called reverse, or adjoint differentiation mode is kept local to each iteration step. Consequently, the memory requirement is typically not unduly enlarged. The resulting approximating Lagrange multipliers are used to compute estimates of the reduced function values that can be shown to converge twice as fast as the underlying state space iteration. By a combination with the forward mode of AD, one can also obtain extra-accurate directional derivatives of the reduced functions as well as feasible state space directions and the corresponding reduced or projected Hessians of the Lagrangian. Our approach is verified by test calculations on an aircraft wing with two responses, namely, the lift and drag coefficient, and two variables, namely, the angle of attack and the Mach number. The state is a 2-dimensional flow field defined as solution of the discretized Euler equation under transonic conditions. 相似文献
