A series of linear polydimethylsiloxane of different molecular weight and with reduced polydispersity were prepared by partial fractionation of commercial products. The rheological functions, i.e. zero shear viscosity (η0), first and second normal stress coefficients (Ψ10 and Ψ20), of the materials were experimentally measured by conventional rotational rheometers and by a rotation rod apparatus. The relationships between molecular structure (molecular weight and polydispersity index) and rheological functions are presented and discussed on the basis of equations proposed in the literature. Zero shear viscosity data conform to the well-known dependence on a power 3.5 of molecular weight. However, a consistently stronger influence of molecular weight over Ψ10 and Ψ20 is found. The influence of polydispersity over Ψ10 is also analyzed.  相似文献

This work provides mathematical and numerical analyses for a spring–mass system, in which Signorini–type contact conditions and Coulomb’s friction law with thermal effects are taken into consideration. The motion of a mass attached to a viscoelastic (Kelvin–Voigt type) nonlinear spring is described by a generalized Duffing equation. Signorini contact conditions are understood as extended complementarity conditions (CCs), where convolution is incorporated, allowing to consider thermal aspects of an obstacle. We prove the existence of global weak solutions for the highly nonlinear differential equation system with all the conditions, based on the regularized differential equation and the normal compliance condition with the standard mollifier. In addition, we investigate what side effects produce higher singularities of contact forces in dynamic contact problems, which is also supported by numerical evidences. Numerical schemes are proposed and then several groups of data are selected for the display of our numerical simulations.  相似文献

Theoretical study of double-layered porous Rayleigh-step bearings with second-order fluid as lubricant is presented. An approximate method for the solutions of the governing fluid film equations for a porous region is proposed. The expressions for the pressure distribution, load capacity and frictional coefficient are obtained in compact form. Calculations of the dimensionless load capacity, frictional force and frictional coefficients are presented for specific values of the material parameters. It is found that the double porous layer yields an increase in the load capacity and ensures decrease in frictional force at the porous lining as compared with the conventional porous Rayleigh-step bearings. The maximum dimensionless load-carrying capacity is found to occur at a slightly larger step ratio as compared with the conventional porous Rayleigh-step bearings.  相似文献

The use of a finite mixture of normal distributions in model-based clustering allows us to capture non-Gaussian data clusters. However, identifying the clusters from the normal components is challenging and in general either achieved by imposing constraints on the model or by using post-processing procedures. Within the Bayesian framework, we propose a different approach based on sparse finite mixtures to achieve identifiability. We specify a hierarchical prior, where the hyperparameters are carefully selected such that they are reflective of the cluster structure aimed at. In addition, this prior allows us to estimate the model using standard MCMC sampling methods. In combination with a post-processing approach which resolves the label switching issue and results in an identified model, our approach allows us to simultaneously (1) determine the number of clusters, (2) flexibly approximate the cluster distributions in a semiparametric way using finite mixtures of normals and (3) identify cluster-specific parameters and classify observations. The proposed approach is illustrated in two simulation studies and on benchmark datasets. Supplementary materials for this article are available online.  相似文献

在文[1]基础上,提出一种仅知道派生线性系统零实部特征值时求解非线性系统非半单分叉NormalForm的方法.通过适当的分类,将要求解的线性代数方程组分为若干相互独立的方程组.将所求系数向量按字典序列排列后,各独立方程组的系数矩阵是上三角矩阵.在非共振情形,各系数向量可按反字典序列递推求出.在共振情形,根据文中的二个定理,巧妙地由一简单的常数矩阵的最大秩子矩阵,定位其系数矩阵的满秩子矩阵,解决了这类方程组的降维简化.通过消元法,把简化后的方程化成类似于半单分叉NormalForm求解过程中方程的形式,其解法也类似.该方法非常易于在计算机代数软件平台上程序化.  相似文献

Railway wheelset experiences the problem of hunting above a critical speed, which is a kind of self-excited oscillation. At the critical speed, it is known that the system undergoes a subcritical Hopf bifurcation. Therefore, for clarifying the nonlinear characteristics of hunting it is very important to detect, for example, the nonlinear forces in the wheelset due to the creep forces acting between the wheels and rails, and the nonlinear component of the resorting forces by the suspensions. However, it is impossible to determine each force quantitatively. In the present paper, it is first shown, by using the center manifold theory and the method of normal form, that the nonlinear characteristics of the bifurcation in a wheelset model with two degrees of freedom are governed by a single parameter, hence each nonlinear force need not be detected when examining the nonlinear characteristics. Also, a method of determining the governing parameter from experimentally observed radiuses of the unstable limit cycle is proposed. Next, we experimentally investigate the variation of the parameter due to the presence of linear spring suspensions in the lateral direction and discuss the variation of the nonlinear characteristics of the hunting motion, which depends on the lateral stiffness. As a result, the improvement of the stability of the wheelset against the disturbance by the linear spring suspensions is clarified.  相似文献

Summary Compared to the similar pressure-distribution cone-and-plate apparatus of Adams and Lodge (4), the new apparatus' improvements include: temperature control of the cone (as well as the plate); increased stiffening of the frame; four (not three) pressuremeasuring holes in the cone/plate region; inclusion of a pressure-measuring hole on the axis under the cone truncation; exclusive use of a vertical free liquid boundary at the cone rim (without a sea of liquid). Temperature control of the rotating cone and of the fixed plate leads to acceptable temperature uniformity in the test liquid for working temperatures within 10°C or 20°C of ambient; the corresponding interval is about 1°C if the cone temperature control is abandoned. Pressure gradients measured using a Newtonian liquid agree with those calculated using Walters' eq. (3). For a viscoelastic liquid, after subtracting inertial contributions, pressure distributions measured at a given shear rate in the cone/plate region do not change when the gap angle is changed from 2° to 3°, showing that the effects of secondary flow are negligible. Values ofN 3 =N 1 + 2N 2 obtained from the gradients of these distributions are believed to be in error by not more than ±1 Pa, in favorable cases. The present most useful ranges are: 10 to 5000 Pa forN 3; 0.1 to 200 sec–1 for shear rate; up to 5 Pa s for viscosity; and 5 to 40°C for temperature. As an application, it is shown that adding 0.1% of a high molecular weight polyisobutylene to a 2% polyisobutylene solution doublesN 3 and has no detectable effect on the viscosity measured at low shear rates with a Ferranti-Shirley viscometer.
Zusammenfassung Im Vergleich zu dem ähnlichen Kegel-Platte-Gerät von Adams und Lodge (4) zur Messung der Druckverteilung wurden an dem neuen Gerät die folgenden Verbesserungen vorgenommen: Temperaturregelung an Kegel und Platte, Versteifung des Rahmens, vier (anstatt drei) Druckmeßlöcher im Kegel-Platte-Bereich, ein zusätzliches Druckmeßloch auf der Achse unter der Kegelstumpf-Deckfläche, ausschließliche Verwendung einer vertikalen freien Grenzfläche der Flüssigkeit am Kegelrand (ohne umgebenden Flüssigkeitssee). Die Temperaturregelung des rotierenden Kegels und der festen Platte führt zu einer ausreichenden Temperaturgleichförmigkeit in der Testflüssigkeit für Betriebstemperaturen, die höchstens um 10–20°C von der Umgebungstemperatur abweichen. Dieses Intervall beträgt dagegen nur etwa 1°C, wenn auf die Temperaturregelung am Kegel verzichtet wird. Für newtonsche Flüssigkeiten entsprechen die gemessenen Druckgradienten den mittels der Gleichung von Walters (3) berechneten. Für viskoelastische Flüssigkeiten zeigen sich bei der Änderung des Spaltwinkels von 2° auf 3° nach Abzug der Trägheitsbeiträge keine Änderungen der bei einer bestimmten Schergeschwindigkeit gemessenen Druckverteilung. Dies zeigt, daß Sekundärströmungseffekte vernachlässigbar sind. Es darf angenommen werden, daß die Werte vonN 3 =N 1 + 2N 2, die man aus den Gradienten dieser Verteilungen erhält, unter günstigen Umständen mit einem Fehler von nicht mehr als ±1 Pa behaftet sind. Gegenwärtig liegen die günstigsten Bereiche bei 10 bis 5000 Pa fürN 3, 0,1 bis 200 s–1 für die Schergeschwindigkeit, unterhalb von 5 Pa s für die Viskosität und 5 bis 40°C für die Temperatur. Als Anwendung wird gezeigt, daß ein Zusatz von 0,1% hochmolekularen Polyisobutylens zu einer 2%igen Polyisobutylenlösung den Wert vonN 3 verdoppelt, aber keinen erkennbaren Einfluß auf die (bei geringen Schergeschwindigkeiten mit einem Ferranti-Shirley-Viskosimeter gemessen) Viskosität hat.

The normal phase HPLC behavior of a bare zirconia column was studied at temperatures up to 200 °C using a hexane mobile phase. The use of elevated column temperatures significantly decreased the retention of twenty five aromatic model compounds according to the van't Hoff equation (>30-fold decrease for some compounds). Large improvements in peak shape, efficiency (>2.2-fold), aromatic group-type selectivity, and column re-equilibration times (>5-fold) were obtained at elevated temperatures. The thermal decomposition of two polar nitrogen compounds (indole and carbazole) was observed in a hexane/dichloromethane mobile phase at temperatures greater than 100 °C. The first order decomposition of carbazole was studied in further detail.  相似文献

A stationary phase based on poly(1-vinylimidazole)-grafted silica has been prepared by the surface radical chain-transfer reaction. The stationary phase was characterized by infrared spectra, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Chromatographic characteristics of the stationary phase were investigated in normal-phase HPLC. The results showed that both weak polar compounds (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, dialkyl phthalates) and polar compounds (anilines, phenols) could be successfully separated on this stationary phase, implying better separation performance than blank silica and conventional aminopropyl-bonded silica under the same conditions. The excellent performance can be attributed to multiple interactions between surface modifier and the analytes that might include dipole, hydrogen bonding, H-π, electrostatic and inductive interactions.  相似文献
