Normal mode calculation of A-type zeolite was carried out with the potential energy functions obtained from the constraint method. Mass-weighted cartesian coordinates and the pseudo-lattice method were used. The assignments of IR absorption bands were made with the calculated normal modes, by using the calculated absorption intensities of the modes and the degrees of contribution of the internal coordinates to the modes. The force constants of internal coordinate motions within the framework were also calculated and are compared with the empirical values. 相似文献

In this work, we consider two frictionless contact problems between an elastic-piezoelectric body and an obstacle. The linear elastic-piezoelectric constitutive law is employed to model the piezoelectric material and either the Signorini condition (if the obstacle is rigid) or the normal compliance condition (if the obstacle is deformable) are used to model the contact. The variational formulations are derived in a form of a coupled system for the displacement and electric potential fields. An existence and uniqueness result is recalled. Then, a discrete scheme is introduced based on the finite element method to approximate the spatial variable. Error estimates are derived on the approximate solutions and, as a consequence, the linear convergence of the algorithm is deduced under suitable regularity conditions. We consider the approximation of a bone remodeling model with the Signorini contact conditions by a contact problem with normal compliant obstacle, when the obstacle's deformability coefficient converges to zero (that is, the obstacle's stiffness tends to infinity). The variational problem is a coupled system composed of a nonlinear variational equation (in the case of normal compliance contact conditions) or a variational inequality (for the case of Signorini's contact conditions), for the mechanical displacement field, and a first-order ordinary differential equation for the bone remodeling function. A theoretical result, which states the convergence of the contact problem with normal compliance contact law to the Signorini problem, is then proved. The shear-induced isotropic-to-nematic phase transition of side chain liquid-crystalline polymers is studied theoretically. A modification of the previous models of main-chain liquid crystals to the case of side chain liquid-crystalline polymers is proposed. Orientational and rheological properties of the model are studied in plane-shear flow. We study the computational complexity of basic decision problems of 3-dimensional topology, such as to determine whether a
triangulated 3-manifold is irreducible, prime, ∂-irreducible, or homeomorphic to a given 3-manifold M. For example, we prove that the problem to recognize whether a triangulated 3-manifold is homeomorphic to a 3-sphere, or
to a 2-sphere bundle over a circle, or to a real projective 3-space, or to a handlebody of genus g, is decidable in nondeterministic polynomial time (NP) of size of the triangulation. We also show that the problem to determine whether a triangulated orientable 3-manifold is
irreducible (or prime) is in PSPACE and whether it is ∂-irreducible is in coNP. The proofs improve and extend arguments of prior author’s article on the recognition problem for the 3-sphere.

In this paper a general technique for the analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems with periodic-quasiperiodic coefficients
is developed. For such systems the coefficients of the linear terms are periodic with frequency ω while the coefficients of
the nonlinear terms contain frequencies that are incommensurate with ω. No restrictions are placed on the size of the periodic
terms appearing in the linear part of system equation. Application of Lyapunov-Floquet transformation produces a dynamically
equivalent system in which the linear part is time-invariant and the time varying coefficients of the nonlinear terms are
quasiperiodic. Then a series of quasiperiodic near-identity transformations are applied to reduce the system equation to a
normal form. In the process a quasiperiodic homological equation and the corresponding ‘solvability condition’ are obtained.
Various resonance conditions are discussed and examples are included to show practical significance of the method. Results
obtained from the quasiperiodic time-dependent normal form theory are compared with the numerical solutions. A close agreement is found. 相似文献

The steering forces on an undriven, angled wheel mounting a 6-16 8PR tire were measured on a wheel test carriage at zero camber angle and at 1.5 km/h forward speed in a soil bin with sandy clay loam soil. The lateral force developed was found to be a function of slip angle, normal load, and inflation pressure for a particular soil condition. An exponential relationship could estimate the coefficient of lateral force of the 6-16 tire. The coefficients of this equation were found to be linearly related to inflation pressure. Rolling resistance of the wheel tested was found to be a function of slip angle, normal load, and inflation pressure for the soil condition tested. A linear relationship existed between the rolling resistance and slip angle, where the coefficients were found to be a function of inflation pressure and normal load. The generalized equations developed in the present study for estimating coefficients of lateral force and rolling resistance by taking both the tire and operating parameters into account, were found to be reasonably good by looking at the high coefficient of determination between experimental and estimated values. 相似文献
