ABSTRACTWe provide an asymptotic analysis of multi-objective sequential stochastic assignment problems (MOSSAP). In MOSSAP, a fixed number of tasks arrive sequentially, with an n-dimensional value vector revealed upon arrival. Each task is assigned to one of a group of known workers immediately upon arrival, with the reward given by an n-dimensional product-form vector. The objective is to maximize each component of the expected reward vector. We provide expressions for the asymptotic expected reward per task for each component of the reward vector and compare the convergence rates for three classes of Pareto optimal policies. 相似文献

In the present paper some barrier and penalty methods (e.g. logarithmic barriers, SUMT, exponential penalties), which define a continuously differentiable primal and dual path, applied to linearly constrained convex problems are studied, in particular, the radius of convergence of Newton’s method depending on the barrier and penalty para-meter is estimated, Unlike using self-concordance properties the convergence bounds are derived by direct estimations of the solutions of the Newton equations. The obtained results establish parameter selection rules which guarantee the overall convergence of the considered barrier and penalty techniques with only a finite number of Newton steps at each parameter level. Structural redundancies in mathematical programming models are nothing uncommon and nonlinear programming problems are no exception. Over the past few decades numerous papers have been written on redundancy. Redundancy in constraints and variables are usually studied in a class of mathematical programming problems. However, main emphasis has so far been given only to linear programming problems. In this paper, an algorithm that identifies redundant objective function(s) and redundant constraint(s) simultaneously in multi-objective nonlinear stochastic fractional programming problems is provided. A solution procedure is also illustrated with numerical examples. Cost-sensitive classification is based on a set of weights defining the expected cost of misclassifying an object. In this paper, a Genetic Fuzzy Classifier, which is able to extract fuzzy rules from interval or fuzzy valued data, is extended to this type of classification. This extension consists in enclosing the estimation of the expected misclassification risk of a classifier, when assessed on low quality data, in an interval or a fuzzy number. A cooperative-competitive genetic algorithm searches for the knowledge base whose fitness is primal with respect to a precedence relation between the values of this interval or fuzzy valued risk. In addition to this, the numerical estimation of this risk depends on the entrywise product of cost and confusion matrices. These have been, in turn, generalized to vague data. The flexible assignment of values to the cost function is also tackled, owing to the fact that the use of linguistic terms in the definition of the misclassification cost is allowed. 相似文献

A fundamental concern in the Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship approach to toxicity evaluation is the generalization of the model over a wide range of compounds. The data driven modelling of toxicity, due to the complex and ill-defined nature of eco-toxicological systems, is an uncertain process. The development of a toxicity predicting model without considering uncertainties may produce a model with a low generalization performance. This study presents a novel approach to toxicity modelling that handles the involved uncertainties using a fuzzy filter, and thus improves the generalization capability of the model. Infrared polarization and intensity imagery provide complementary and discriminative information in image understanding and interpretation. In this paper, a novel fusion method is proposed by effectively merging the information with various combination rules. It makes use of both low-frequency and high-frequency images components from support value transform (SVT), and applies fuzzy logic in the combination process. Images (both infrared polarization and intensity images) to be fused are firstly decomposed into low-frequency component images and support value image sequences by the SVT. Then the low-frequency component images are combined using a fuzzy combination rule blending three sub-combination methods of (1) region feature maximum, (2) region feature weighting average, and (3) pixel value maximum; and the support value image sequences are merged using a fuzzy combination rule fusing two sub-combination methods of (1) pixel energy maximum and (2) region feature weighting. With the variables of two newly defined features, i.e. the low-frequency difference feature for low-frequency component images and the support-value difference feature for support value image sequences, trapezoidal membership functions are proposed and developed in tuning the fuzzy fusion process. Finally the fused image is obtained by inverse SVT operations. Experimental results of visual inspection and quantitative evaluation both indicate the superiority of the proposed method to its counterparts in image fusion of infrared polarization and intensity images. 相似文献
