A New 3D Four-Wing Chaotic System with Cubic Nonlinearity and Its Circuit Implementation

A new 3D four-wing smooth autonomous chaotic system in which each equation contains a cubic product term is presented and physically implemented. Spectral analysis shows that the four-wing chaotic attractor has extremely wide frequency bandwidth compared with that of the Lorenz system and other four-wing chaotic systems, which is important in some relevant engineering applications such as secure communications.

Scheme for teleportation of unknown states of trapped ion

A scheme is presented for teleporting an unknown state in a trapped ion system. The scheme only requires a single laser beam. It allows the trap to be in any state with a few phonons, e.g. a thermal motion. Furthermore, it works in the regime, where the Rabi frequency of the laser is on the order of the trap frequency. Thus, the teleportation speed is greatly increased, which is important for decreasing the decoherence effect. This idea can also be used to teleport an unknown ionic entangled state.     

Trend of extreme precipitation events over China in last 40 years

Using the daily precipitation data of 740 stations in China from 1960 to 2000, the analysis on the variations and distributions of the frequency and the percentage of extreme precipitation to the annual rainfall have been performed in this paper. Results indicate that the percentage of heavy rains （above 25mm/day） in the annual rainfall has increased, while on average the day number of heavy rains has slightly reduced during the past 40 years. In the end of 1970s and the beginning of 1980s, both the number of days with extreme precipitation and the percentage of extreme precipitation abruptly changed over China, especially in the northern China. By moving t test, the abrupt change year of extreme precipitation for each station and its spatial distribution over the whole country are also obtained. The abrupt change years concentrated in 1978-1982 for most regions of northern China while occurred at various stations in southern China in greatly different/diverse years. Besides the abrupt change years of extreme precipitation at part stations of Northwest China happened about 5 years later in comparison with that of the country＇s average.     

LD泵浦Nd：YAG激光器纵模特性及频率稳定性实验研究

摘要为了更好地研究LD泵浦Nd：YAG激光器的输出光束质量，利用共焦球面干涉仪设计了一套用于测量和分析该激光器纵模特性的简易装置，对该激光器的纵模进行了实验分析。在室温下测得纵模间隔为1.83GHz，纵模谱线宽度为113.83MHz。同时利用此装置，对该激光器的频率稳定性进行了分析，在120s取样时间内，测得频率稳定度为2.94×10^-4。     

Closely packed dense frequency selective surface

In order to realize wideband filtering properties of frequency selective surface （FSS）, FSS of closely packed elements is presented. The Y loop elements are chosen as the graphics elements. Based on the spectral domain method, the frequency response is analyzed for different incident angles and polarizations. The result of the numerical analysis shows that the dense FSS has wide passband with better independence of angle and polarization.

 提出了一种过模复合器件。自洽地导出了由外电磁信号和预群聚电子束同时驱动的一种过模复合器件的辐射波相位锁定方程；讨论了到达锁相运行的时间、频率移动和带宽。分析表明：当由预群聚电子束和外电磁信号同时锁相时，通过调节参数，可以缩短到达锁相运行的时间，减小运行频率对要锁定的频率（外电磁信号频率）的移动和增大锁相运行的带宽。

Observation of Electromagnetically Induced Transparency by a Train of Short Pulses

We report the experimental demonstration of electromagnetically induced transparency in hot rubidium (^85Rb) atomic vapour by using an actively mode-locked external cavity diode laser in Littman-Metcalf configuration. We can make opaque resonant transitions transparent to any two optical comb components in the pulse trains which excite atomic coherence in the ground states of ^85Rb.
