New photocrosslinkable maleimide copolymers have been synthesized by the attachment of a tricyanopyrrolidene‐based chromophore. The 2‐(3‐cyano‐4‐(2‐{4‐[hexyl‐(6‐hydroxy‐hexyl)‐amino]‐phenyl}‐vinyl)‐5‐oxo‐1‐{4‐[4‐(3‐oxo‐3‐phenyl‐propenyl)‐ phenoxy]‐butyl}‐1,5‐dihydro‐pyrrol‐2‐ylidene)‐malononitrile chromophore exhibits nonlinear optical activity and contains a chalcone moiety that is sensitive to UV light (λ = 330–360 nm) for crosslink formation. The maleimide monomers have also been functionalized with chalcone moieties. The resultant copolymers exhibit great processability, and one of them shows a maximum electrooptic coefficient of 90 pm/V at 1300 nm. We could control the thermal stability of the electrooptic coefficient with the newly synthesized photoreactive copolymers successfully. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In view of the growing interest for non-destructive tests of materials, geodynamical monitoring and in general remote sensing, there is a great effort to bring practical optical sensors from research labs to industrial and environmental applications. In this paper, we employ digital holographic technique as an efficient tool for evaluating the strain measurement capability of fiber Bragg gratings (FBG). A cantilever beam has been employed as a test structure under loading test. The strain measurements results obtained by fiber-based sensors have been compared to those obtained by using full-field digital holographic technique and point-wise strain gauge sensors glued on the same cantilever beam. A simple theoretical model is also presented to interpret and compare the experimental results coming from different techniques. 相似文献

The generation of harmonics of the voltage response is considered when an AC current is applied through a superconducting
film above Tc. It is shown that almost at all temperatures the mechanism of the temperature oscillations created by the AC current and
the temperature dependence of the resistance dominates over the isothermal nonlinear electric conductivity. Only in a narrow
critical region close to Tc the latter is essential for the generation of the harmonics. A detailed investigation of harmonics generation provides an
accurate method for measuring the thermal boundary conductance between the film and the insulating substrate. The critical
behaviour of the third harmonic will give a new method for the determination of the lifetime of metastable Cooper pairs above
Tc. The comparison of the calculated fifth harmonics of the voltage with the experiment is proposed as an important test for
the applicability of the employed theoretical models.

The evolution of the microstructure and the atomic ordering degree in the powders and coatings are discussed at the light of the various processing conditions. The prepared amorphous
γ-ZrP\SiO2 composite had a complicated composition,
since a part of γ-ZrP is converted to α-form during the exfoliation
of it. The γ-ZrP\SiO2 composite have specific surface
area of 421 m2g–1.
The acidic P–OH groups of the lamellae species placed on the surface
(it is ≈1.0 meq g–1), do not destroy until
the temperature of 1030 K. During the thermal treatment the total mass loss
of 7.79% was found. This value corresponds to 0.42 mole of H2O
per molecule unit. The water loss process was found very slow, because of

Hydrogen
peroxide is a very versatile oxidizing agent, and it is also environmentally
compatible considering that the products of its exothermic decomposition are
oxygen and water.When kept in a clean temperature-controlled environment,
the self-reaction (decomposition) rate is extremely low. However, it is well
known that even a small amount of contamination will dramatically increase
the reaction rate. This paper describes the use of the fast thermal activity
interpreter (FTAI) instrument to examine the chemical reactivity of commercially
available 50% hydrogen peroxide at two different temperatures (30 and 40°C)
both with and without contamination. The results show that at 30°C a small
amount of rust (330 ppm) increases the reaction rate of 50% hydrogen peroxide
by a factor of 50. When the temperature is increased to 40°C, the reaction
rate is further increased by almost a factor of four. The implication for
reactivity management is that at this contamination level most practical vessel
sizes would require emergency venting capability.
An evaluation
was then performed to determine the emergency venting requirement for the
safe transportation or storage of the contaminated hydrogen peroxide. It was
determined that for quantities of the material less than 5 gallons, conventional
breather vents would be sufficient to accommodate the gas evolved. However,
for larger quantities, a safety relief device would be needed. For example,
for a 400-gallon tote bin at 40°C the required minimum vent area is estimated
to be 4.3 in2, corresponding to a minimum vent
diameter of 2.3 inches. 相似文献

A nanoscale
multivalent platinum drug based on a poly(amidoamine) [PAMAM] dendrimer (generation
4.5, carboxylate surface) has been synthesized and fully characterized using
a variety of spectroscopic, chromatographic and thermal methods. Treatment
of the dendrimer with an aqueous solution containing an excess diaquo(cis-1,2-diaminocyclohexane)platinum(II) produces
a conjugate containing approximately forty (diaminocyclohexane)platinum(II)
moieties at the surface of the dendrimer. This material undergoes smooth two-stage
thermal decomposition to provide residual platinum oxide reflecting the platinum
