Uniqueness of meromorphic functions whose derivatives share four small functions

In this paper, we will prove some uniqueness theorems of meromorphic functions whose derivatives share four distinct small functions. The results in this paper improve those given by R. Nevanlinna, L. Yang, G.D. Qiu, and other authors. An example is provided to show that the results in this paper are best possible.

Symmetry based properties of the transition metal dichalcogenide nanotubes

The full geometrical symmetry groups (the line groups) of the monolayered, 2Hb and 3R polytypes of the inorganic MoS₂ and WS₂ micro- and nanotubes of arbitrary chirality are found. This is used to find the coordinates of the representative atoms sufficient to determine completely the geometrical structure of the tubes. Then some physical properties which can be deduced from the symmetry are discussed: electron band degeneracies, selection rules, general forms of the second rank tensors and potentials, phonon spectra. Quantitative surface analysis performed with an imaging photoelectron spectrometer

The paper gives an outline of the basic principle of our imaging technique for XPS. The advantage of the concept is its excellent applicability to quantitative pixel information. This idea is verified by two examples which are representative for routine problems in XPS. These are quantitative surface analysis and determination of overlayer thicknesses. A lateral resolution of at least 0.2 mm is achieved and thus a pixel size of 0.2 mm × 0.2 mm can be quantified automatically by means of numerical algorithms without need of reference samples.Dedicated to Professor Günther Tölg on the occasion of his 60th birthday

Formal and analytic linearizability of families of conformal map germs (ℂ, 0) → (ℂ, 0)

We consider a nondegenerate one-parameter family of germs of conformal maps of (?, 0) into (?, 0). We prove that such a family is analytically linearizable whenever it is formally linearizable. In this case, the linearizing coordinate change analytically depends on the parameter.
