On the problem of crack system with an elliptic hole

The problem of cracks with an elliptic hole in an infinite plane is investigated. By introducing the fictitious loads on the hole edge and using the Muskhelishvili method, the problem is reduced to solving a system of mixed-type integral equations in which some are Fredholm equations but others Cauchy-type singular ones. A numerical method is suggested and can be used for the treatment of other similar equations. The numerical results for some typical examples are given, showing that the method is really effective.     

Integral models of representations of current groups

We suggest a new construction of nonlocal representations of the current group. Instead of the Fock space, which is usually used in this situation, we consider the direct integral of countable tensor products of representations over the trajectories of some stochastic process. The construction substantially uses the invariance of the so-called infinite-dimensional Lebesgue measure.     

Multivariate Liouville distributions

A random vector (X₁, …, X_n), with positive components, has a Liouville distribution if its joint probability density function is of the formf(x₁ + … + x_n)x₁^a₁.1 … x_n^a_n.1 with thea_i all positive. Examples of these are the Dirichlet and inverted Dirichlet distributions. In this paper, a comprehensive treatment of the Liouville distributions is provided. The results pertain to stochastic representations, transformation properties, complete neutrality, marginal and conditional distributions, regression functions, and total positivity and reverse rule properties. Further, these topics are utilized in various characterizations of the Dirichlet and inverted Dirichlet distributions. Matrix analogs of the Liouville distributions are also treated, and many of the results obtained in the vector setting are extended appropriately.     

等效电流方法计算单模光纤的辐射损耗

本文将无源的不规则波导看作有源的理想波导,求等效极化电流电场,直接得到单一光波导模间耦合和辐射损耗问题的解。用这个方法计算了阶跃单模光纤折射率轴向不均匀变化的损耗。这种方法完全脱离了耦合波的概念,它不但物理意义明确,而且求解问题的方法简洁。最后以单模光纤弯曲和微弯损耗为例,说明等效电流方法还适用于广义耦合波理论才能求解的问题。

本文讨论了希尔伯特空间中有限区域成像积分算子的本征值和本征函数,研究了非对称核的情形,并用微扰和有限秩方法计算了衍射受限和离焦情况下的本征值和本征函数。     

Symmetries of nonlinear hyperbolic systems of the Toda chain type

We consider hyperbolic systems of equations that have full sets of integrals along both characteristics. The best known example of models of this type is given by two-dimensional open Toda chains. For systems that have integrals, we construct a differential operator that takes integrals into symmetries. A new reverse Hilbert-type inequality with a best constant factor

In this paper, we give a new reverse Hilbert-type inequality with a best constant factor and some parameters. As application, we consider the equivalent form and some particular results.     

Boundary integral equations in time-dependent bending of thermoelastic plates

The initial-boundary value problems with the Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions arising in the theory of bending of thermoelastic plates with transverse shear deformation are reduced to time-dependent boundary integral equations by means of layer potentials. The solvability of these equations is then investigated in Sobolev-type spaces.     

具有变时滞的离散双向联想记忆神经网络的全局指数稳定性

利用Lyapunov函数和线性矩阵不等式(LMI),给出了判定一类双向联想记忆(BAM)神经网络模型的指数稳定的充分性条件.该条件去掉了以往论文中所要求的激活函数单调,可微分的条件,而且所得结果利用里的工具易于检测.并举例说明本文结果的有效性.     

p-Median theorems for competitive locations

In competitive location theory, one wishes to optimally choose the locations ofr facilities to compete againstp existing facilities for providing service (or goods) to the customers who are at given discrete points (or nodes). One normally assumes that: (a) the level of demand of each customer is fixed (i.e. this demand is not a function of how far a customer is from a facility), and (b) the customer always uses the closest available facility. In this paper we study competitive locations when one or both of the above assumptions have been relaxed. In particular, we show that for each case and under certain assumptions, there exists a set of optimal locations which consists entirely of nodes.This work was supported by a National Science Foundation Grant ECS-8121741.
