A new algorithm for singular value decomposition (SVD) is presented through relating SVD problem to nonlinear systems whose solutions are constrained on hyperplanes. The hyperplane constrained nonlinear systems are solved with the help of Newton’s iterative method. It is proved that our SVD algorithm has the quadratic convergence substantially and all singular pairs are computable. These facts are also confirmed by some numerical examples. 相似文献

Parallel iterative methods are powerful in solving large systems of linear equations (LEs). The existing parallel computing research results focus mainly on sparse systems or others with particular structure. Most are based on parallel implementation of the classical relaxation methods such as Gauss-Seidel, SOR, and AOR methods which can be efficiently carried out on multiprocessor system. In this paper, we propose a novel parallel splitting operator method in which we divide the coefficient matrix into two or three parts. Then we convert the original problem (LEs) into a monotone (linear) variational inequality problem (VI) with separable structure. Finally, an inexact parallel splitting augmented Lagrangian method is proposed to solve the variational inequality problem (VI). To avoid dealing with the matrix inverse operator, we introduce proper inexact terms in subproblems such that the complexity of each iteration of the proposed method is O(n2). In addition, the proposed method does not require any special structure of system of LEs under consideration. Convergence of the proposed methods in dealing with two and three separable operators respectively, is proved. Numerical computations are provided to show the applicability and robustness of the proposed methods. 相似文献

Let R ∈ Cn×n be a nontrivial involution, i.e., R2 = I and R ≠ ±I. A matrix A ∈ Cn×n is called R-skew symmetric if RAR = −A. The least-squares solutions of the matrix inverse problem for R-skew symmetric matrices with R∗ = R are firstly derived, then the solvability conditions and the solutions of the matrix inverse problem for R-skew symmetric matrices with R∗ = R are given. The solutions of the corresponding optimal approximation problem with R∗ = R for R-skew symmetric matrices are also derived. At last an algorithm for the optimal approximation problem is given. It can be seen that we extend our previous results [G.X. Huang, F. Yin, Matrix inverse problem and its optimal approximation problem for R-symmetric matrices, Appl. Math. Comput. 189 (2007) 482-489] and the results proposed by Zhou et al. [F.Z. Zhou, L. Zhang, X.Y. Hu, Least-square solutions for inverse problem of centrosymmetric matrices, Comput. Math. In this paper, we consider a semilinear Neumann problem with an indefinite linear part and a Carathéodory nonlinearity which is superlinear near infinity and near zero, but does not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. This paper is devoted to study the Cauchy problem for certain incompressible magnetohydrodynamics‐α model. In the Sobolev space with fractional index s>1, we proved the local solutions for any initial data, and global solutions for small initial data. Furthermore, we also prove that as α→0, the MHD‐α model reduces to the MHD equations, and the solutions of the MHD‐α model converge to a pair of solutions for the MHD equations. We study the smooth LU decomposition of a given analytic functional A-matrix A(A) and its block-analogue. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such matrix decompositions are given, some differentiability about certain elements arising from them are proved, and several explicit expressions for derivatives of the specified elements are provided. By using these smooth LU decompositions, we propose two numerical methods for computing multiple nonlinear eigenvalues of A(A), and establish their locally quadratic convergence properties.
