The design and the characterization of supramolecular additives to control the chain length of benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (BTA) cooperative supramolecular polymers under thermodynamic equilibrium is unraveled. These additives act as chain cappers of supramolecular polymers and feature one face as reactive as the BTA discotic to interact strongly with the polymer end, whereas the other face is nonreactive and therefore impedes further polymerization. Such a design requires fine tuning of the conformational preorganization of the amides and the steric hindrance of the motif. The chain cappers studied are monotopic derivatives of BTA, modified by partial N-methylation of the amides or by positioning of a bulky cyclotriveratrylene cage on one face of the BTA unit. This study not only clarifies the interplay between structural variations and supramolecular interactions, but it also highlights the necessity to combine orthogonal characterization methods, spectroscopy and light scattering, to elucidate the structures and compositions of supramolecular systems. 相似文献

A unique trend in the binding affinity between cationic metal−organic cages (MOCs) and external counteranions in aqueous media was observed. Similar to many macroions, two MOCs, sharing similar structures but carrying different number of charges, self-assembled into hollow spherical single-layered blackberry-type structures through counterion-mediated attraction. Dynamic and static light scattering and isothermal titration calorimetry measurements confirm the stronger interactions among less charged MOCs and counteranions than that of highly charged MOCs, leading to larger assembly sizes. DOSY NMR measurements suggest the significance of thick hydration shells of highly charged MOCs, inhibiting the MOC-counterion binding and weakening the interaction between them. This study demonstrates that the greater role played by hydration shell on ion-pair formation comparing with charge density of MOCs. 相似文献

Two tripodal C3-symmetric photoswitchable molecular systems T1 and T2 are reported that have extended conjugation at external and internal positions using an acryl group. The influence of the extended π-bonds in their absorption properties, thermal relaxation of the photoisomers and their propensities in forming supramolecular self-assemblies have been explored through spectroscopy, and microscopic studies. In particular, the investigations on the self-assembly have been carried out using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), polarized optical microscopy (POM), X-ray diffraction studies (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Remarkably, the position of the acryl group influences the behaviour of the two target molecules in supramolecular assembly, and also in the formation of photoresponsive organic hydrogels or microcrystals. 相似文献

Aggregation‐induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) are a new class of luminophors, which are non‐emissive in solution, but emit intensively upon aggregation. By properly designing the chemical structures of the AIEgens, their aggregation process can be tuned towards a desired direction to give diverse novel luminescent architectures of micelles, rods, and helical fibers. AIEgens represent a kind of promising building block for the fabrication of luminescent micro/nanostructures with controllable morphologies. In this review, we describe our recent work in this research area, focusing on the molecular design, circularly polarized luminescence properties, and helical self‐assembly behavior of AIEgens. 相似文献

To gain insight into the host functions of a nanocavity encircled by both polyaromatic panels and heteroatoms, nitrogen-doped polyaromatic capsules were successfully synthesized from metal ions and pyridine-embedded, bent anthracene-based ligands. The new capsules display unique host–guest interactions in the isolated cavities, which are distinct from those of the undoped analogues. Besides the inclusion of Ag+ ions, the large absorption change of fullerene C60 and altered emission of a BODIPY dimer are observed upon encapsulation by the present hosts. Moreover, the N-doped capsule exhibits specific binding ability toward progesterone and methyltestosterone, known as a natural female and synthetic male hormone, respectively, in water. 相似文献

The controlled self‐assembly of CuI and an asymmetric ligand with mixed N/S donors, 2‐(tert‐butylthio)‐N‐(pyridin‐3‐yl)acetamide ( L ), afforded three CuI coordination polymers (CPs), [Cu4I4 L 2(MeCN)2]n ( 1 ), [Cu4I4 L 2]n ( 2 ), and {[Cu4I4 L 2] ? MeOH}n ( 3 ). X‐ray analyses showed that CPs 1 – 3 are supramolecular isomers with 1, 2, and 3D structures, respectively. CP 1 adopts a stairstep Cu4I4 cluster, whereas CPs 2 and 3 are composed of cubane‐like Cu4I4 clusters. Crystal‐to‐crystal transformations of 1 to 2 and 3 showed reversible transformations between different Cu4I4 clusters using heat or solvent (acetonitrile or methanol) vapor. CP 2 was reversibly transformed to 3 by the addition of methanol and heat. Therefore, the transformations between supramolecular isomers 1 , 2 , and 3 are completely reversible. 相似文献

以配体二苯乙酰丙酮(L)与金属组装子[(bpy)Pd(NO3)]NO3、[(bpy)Pt(NO3)]NO3和[(phen)Pd(NO3)]NO3在溶液中通过自组装配位作用,自发去质子形成了一系列单核组装体[(bpy)Pd(L)]NO3(1·NO3·H2O)、[(bpy)Pt(L)]NO3(2·NO3·H2O)和[(phen)Pd(L)]NO3(3·NO3·H2O)(其中,bpy=2,2''-联吡啶,phen=1,10-菲咯啉)。这些组装体在含有KPF6的水溶液中能够有效的将NO3-置换成PF6-。NMR和ESI-MS分析确定了这3个组装体的单核结构。1·PF6·CH3CN化合物的单晶X射线衍射分析表明分子间π-π堆积作用与弱的Pd…Pd键(0.322 4 nm)相互作用使化合物形成二聚体结构。更为重要的是,这些组装体可作为新颖、高效的Suzuki偶联反应催化剂。 相似文献

Mesomorphic properties and structures of two mix-substituted lipophilic phthalocyanine derivatives of the A3B type, with a different ratio of electron-donating (hexadecyloxy-) and electron-withdrawing (Cl-) substituents on the isoindol fragments ‘A’ and ‘B’, correspondingly, were studied by polarising optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and small-angle X-ray scattering. Both compounds display columnar mesophases, and the type of organisation of the columns in the mesomorphic state was found to strongly depend on the number of peripheral chlorine substituents in the molecule. The di-chloro-substituted phthalocyanine forms a solid pasty lamellar phase at room temperature, which on heating undergoes successive transitions to two large-lattice columnar mesophases (2D-Colh and 3D-MCol) arising from the aggregation of several phthalocyanine-containing piles. On the contrary, aggregation of columns does not occur for the tetra-chloro-substituted phthalocyanine, which forms a nematic columnar mesophase of single phthalocyanine piles (1D-NCol). While the di-chloro-compound partly crystallises on cooling, the nematic phase of the tetra-chloro-compound freezes at room temperature. The reasons for this different self-organisation behaviour are not yet fully understood, but some hints may be deduced from the proposed supramolecular models. 相似文献

1‐(3‐amino‐4‐thia‐1,2‐diazaspiro[4.11]hexadec‐2‐en‐1‐yl)ethan‐1‐one was synthesized and experimentally characterized by using FT‐IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The structure of the compound was confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked by pairs of N‐H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming centrosymmetric dimers with the graph‐set motif. The water molecule also plays an important role in the stabilization of the crystal structure, bridging the dimers to form a two‐dimensional supramolecular network. The molecular geometry, frontier molecular orbitals, vibrational frequencies, electronic properties, and molecular electrostatic potential were calculated using density functional theory (DFT) with the B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) basis set. Geometric parameters, vibrational assignments, and electronic properties such as calculated energies, excitation energies, and oscillator strengths were compared with the experimental data, and it was seen that the theoretical results support the experimental parameters. 相似文献
