The morphology, crystallization behavior, and properties of an impact-modified polypropylene (PP) copolymer with or without
sodium benzoate were investigated. The contents of ethylene–propylene rubber (EPR) in the reactor-made PP copolymer is about
15 wt%. For comparison, blends of PP and EPR containing the same EPR composition were prepared by melt-mixing. Morphological
studies by scanning probe microscopy indicated that the impact-modified copolymer consists of three different phases, i.e.,
polyethylene, PP, and EPR phases, which is considerably different from the morphology of the conventional PP/EPR blend of
the corresponding composition. The impact-modified PP copolymer exhibited a higher crystallization rate in terms of the lower
crystallization half-time and thus higher thermal and mechanical properties, such as impact strength and hardness, than the
PP/EPR blend did. The addition of sodium benzoate as a nucleating agent to the copolymer increased the crystallization rate
and the mechanical properties.

The interaction of 7-trifluoroacetyltetrahydropyrrolo[1,2-c]pyrimidine with acetylenedicarboxylic ester (DMAD) and ethyl propiolate
in acetonitrile and alcohols has been studied. It was established that DMAD splits pyrrolopyrimidine at the aminal fragment
in acetonitrile and methanol with the formation of 1-H-and 2-(N-dimethoxycarbonylvinyl-N-methyl)aminoethyl-1-methoxymethyl-3-methyl-5-trifluoroacetylpyrroles.
In acetonitrile ethyl propiolate splits pyrrolopyrimidine both at the aminal fragment and at the C(3)-N(2) bond (Hofmann reaction), but in ethanol only at the C(3)-N(2) bond with the formation of 2-propenylpyrroles.

An efficient method for the synthesis of secondary alkylamides of phosphorylacetic acids (APA) was proposed. The method involves amidation of ethyl phosphorylacetates with primary aliphatic amines. The scope of reaction was determined. Reactions with ethylenediamine and 1,4-diaminobutane yield the corresponding bisamides; in the case of 1,3-diaminopropane, N-(3-aminopropyl)diphenylphosphorylacetamide or N,N-propylenebis(diphenylphosphorylacetamide) was obtained, depending on the reaction conditions. The extraction of americium(III) complexes and the sorption of uranium(VI) by sorbents with physically sorbed APA from nitric acid solutions were studied. There is no correlation between the partition coefficient of americium(III) and the structure of APA; in the sorption of uranium(VI), the degree of extraction depends on the complexone structure.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Ab initio calculations (RHF) of EtX molecules (X=F, Cl, Br, I, or OTs) were carried out with the use of different basis sets. Total
charges on the atoms in the compounds under study were determined by Mulliken's, NPA, and Bader's methods, and a comparison
of these values was performed. For all EtX compounds, a topological analysis of the electron density was carried out within
the framework of Bader's theory, and the global and relative local hardnesses of the above-mentioned ethylating agents were

Inorganic-organic hybrid gels were prepared by simultaneous condensation of the liquid mixture of ethyl silicate, ethyl borate and water soluble phenol resin with low molecular weight. The liquid mixtures were changed into lightly colored transparent gels after a catalyst addition and stirring. The obtained gels were crushed, dried and fired in controlled conditions to yield the inorganic precursors. Since the tailored inorganic precursors mainly consisted of SiO2 and carbon, silicon carbide was formed with the heat treatments in an Ar atmosphere beyond 1773 K with carbothermic reduction. The properties and morphology of the formed silicon carbide powders in terms of the starting precursor compositions and the conditions of the carbothermic reduction were investigated with SEM, XRD and TG-DTA analysis. 相似文献
