In the coordination chemistry of palladium, dimers bridged via halides are a common motif. Higher oligomers, however, are still rare. We report the structure of an alternating eight‐membered [Pd4Br4]4− ring framed by cycloheptatrienide ligands, which was obtained by cocrystallization of dimers and tetramers of the complex salt bromido{η3‐[3‐(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)imidazolium‐1‐yl]cycloheptatrienido}palladium(II) tetrafluoroborate, namely bis[di‐μ‐bromido‐bis({η3‐[3‐(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)imidazolium‐1‐yl]cycloheptatrienido}palladium(II))] cyclo‐tetra‐μ‐bromido‐tetrakis({η3‐[3‐(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)imidazolium‐1‐yl]cycloheptatrienido}palladium(II)) octakis(tetrafluoroborate) dichloromethane octasolvate, [Pd4Br4(C22H26N2)4][Pd2Br2(C22H26N2)2]2(BF4)8·8CH2Cl2. These dimers and tetramers form a highly dynamic equilibrium in solution which was studied by low‐temperature NMR spectroscopy. In the light of the presented results, tetrameric PdII species can be assumed to co‐exist as a second species in many cases where by current knowledge only a dimeric compound would be expected.  相似文献

The β‐diketonate‐based achiral polymer P‐1 could be synthesized by the polymerization of 3,7‐dibromo‐2,8‐dimethoxy‐5,5‐dioctyl‐5H‐dibenzo[b,d]silole ( M1 ) with (Z)?1,3‐bis(4‐ethynylphenyl)?3‐hydroxyprop‐en‐1‐one ( M2 ) via typical Sonogashira coupling reaction. The β‐diketonate unit in the main chain backbone of P‐1 can further coordinate with Eu(TTA)x [TTA? = 4,4,4‐trifluoro‐1‐(thiophen‐2‐yl)butane‐1,3‐dionate anion, X = 1, 2, 3] to afford corresponding Eu(III)‐containing polymer complexes. The resulting achiral polymer complex P‐2 (X = 2) can exhibit strong circular dichroism (CD) response toward both N‐Boc‐l and d‐ proline enantiomers. The CD signal was preliminarily attributed to coordination induction between chiral N‐Boc‐proline and the Eu(III) complex moiety. The linear regression analysis of CD sensing shows a good agreement between the magnitude of molar ellipticity and concentration of chiral N‐Boc‐l or d‐ proline, which indicates this kind Eu(III)‐containing achiral polymer complex can be used as a chiral probe for enantioselective recognition of N‐Boc‐l or d‐ proline enantiomers based on Cotton effect of CD spectra. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel terbium(III) coordination polymer [Tb(C7H3NO4)(C6H4NO2)(H2O)] was successfully synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex is of monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 9.2252(11), b = 14.1477(16), c = 10.5134(12) A, β = 95.770(2)°, V = 1365.2(3) A3, Z = 4, Dc = 2.248 g·cm-3, F(000) = 880, the final R = 0.0176 and w R = 0.0411 for 2149 observed reflections with I 2σ(I). The complex is extended into a three-dimensional network structure with 24-atom rings which are composed of Tb, C and O atoms. The complex displays green fluorescence emission in the solid state at room temperature, which corresponds to 5D4 → 7F5 transition of the Tb(III) ion.  相似文献

The bistability of spin states (e.g., spin crossover) in bulk materials is well investigated and understood. We recently extended spin‐state switching to isolated molecules at room temperature (light‐driven coordination‐induced spin‐state switching, or LD‐CISSS). Whereas bistability and hysteresis in conventional spin‐crossover materials are caused by cooperative effects in the crystal lattice, spin switching in LD‐CISSS is achieved by reversibly changing the coordination number of a metal complex by means of a photochromic ligand that binds in one configuration but dissociates in the other form. We present mathematical proof that the maximum efficiency in property switching by such a photodissociable ligand (PDL) is only dependent on the ratio of the association constants of both configurations. Rational design by using DFT calculations was applied to develop a photoswitchable ligand with a high switching efficiency. The starting point was a nickel–porphyrin as the transition‐metal complex and 3‐phenylazopyridine as the photodissociable ligand. Calculations and experiments were performed in two iterative steps to find a substitution pattern at the phenylazopyridine ligand that provided optimum performance. Following this strategy, we synthesized an improved photodissociable ligand that binds to the Ni–porphyrin with an association constant that is 5.36 times higher in its trans form than in the cis form. The switching efficiency between the diamagnetic and paramagnetic state is efficient as well (72 % paramagnetic Ni–porphyrin after irradiation at 365 nm, 32 % paramagnetic species after irradiation at 440 nm). Potential applications arise from the fact that the LD‐CISSS approach for the first time allows reversible switching of the magnetic susceptibility of a homogeneous solution. Photoswitchable contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging and light‐controlled magnetic levitation are conceivable applications.  相似文献

It has been established (AM1, PM3, RHF/6-31G**, MP2/6-31G**//RHF/6-31G**) that in the gaseous phase and in aqueous solution, the most thermodynamically stable tautomer of 2-pyrrolidone is lactame. According to PM3 evaluations with an explicit accounting for aqueous medium, the state of tautomeric equilibrium serves as a prerequisite to participation of 2-pyrrolidone's lactime tautomer (pyrroline-2-ol) in complexation with palladium(II) in aqueous solution. 2-Pyrrolidone protonation in the gaseous phase and in aqueous medium has been shown to proceed via the oxygen atom, corresponding to expectations on mesomeric displacement of electron density in the amide fragment. The aqueous medium stabilizes 2-pyrrolidone's lactime tautomer to a greater extent than for lactame, and an O-protonated cyclic amide compared to an N-protonated one. The stereodirective character of palladium(II) complexation with chloride ion and pyrroline-2-ol has been explained. The initially formed tetragonal–pyramidal adduct with an axial organic ligand rearranges into a precursor of the cis product, an intermediate with an extra coordinated axial chlorine atom. The less thermodynamically stable cis isomer of [PdCl2(pyrroline-2-ol)2] appears because its precursor is a lower energy intermediate of associative nucleophilic substitution. At a supramolecular level, cis product is capable of being stabilized by means of intermolecular dipole–dipole association in a crystal.  相似文献

Coordination compounds of copper have been invoked as major actors in processes involving the reduction of molecular oxygen, mostly with the generation of radical species the assignment for which has, so far, not been fully addressed. In the present work, we have carried out studies in solution and on surfaces to gain insights into the nature of the radical oxygen species (ROS) generated by a copper(II) coordination compound containing a thioether clip‐phen derivative, 1,3‐bis(1,10‐phenanthrolin‐2‐yloxy)‐N‐(4‐(methylthio)benzylidene)propan‐2‐amine (2CP‐Bz‐SMe), enabling its adsorption/immobilization to gold surfaces. Whereas surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and electrochemistry of the adsorbed complex indicated the formation of a dimeric CuI intermediate containing molecular oxygen as a bridging ligand, scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) and nuclease assays pointed to the generation of a ROS species. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) data reinforced such conclusions, indicating that radical production was dependent on the amount of oxygen and H2O2, thus pointing to a mechanism involving a Fenton‐like reaction that results in the production of OH..  相似文献
