What Oxidation State of Iron Determines the Amethyst Colour?

A colourless quartz crystal doped with ⁵⁷Fe³⁺ was obtained by hydrothermal synthesis in an NH₄F solution. The crystal was transformed into violet amethyst by gamma-irradiation. The change in colour was accompanied by changes in the Mössbauer spectrum that can be interpreted as the conversion of trivalent iron into the tetravalent state: Fe³⁺→Fe⁴⁺.

     

4-Benzoylbenzoate intercalated in layered double hydroxides: a new catalyst for photo-oxidation of sulfides in solution and in the gas phase

A new mixed organic-inorganic photosensitizer, based on 4-benzoylbenzoate intercalated into a layered double hydroxide has been prepared, characterized and successfully tested for the photo-oxidation of dialkylsulfides, both in acetonitrile and in the gas phase.     

Field optimized initial state based control of photodissociation

A new scheme for controlling photodissociation through preparation of a variationally optimized linear superposition of field free vibrational eigenstates is applied for selective control of IBr and HI dissociation. The dependence of photodissociation on various field parameters and initial conditions is examined to investigate the mechanistic basis of selective control. The parametric equations of motion approach for determining vibrational dynamics as a function of field parameters without having to solve the time dependent Schrödinger equation explicitly for each field parameter separately is outlined and its use to identify field characteristics which will provide the requisite population mix represented by the optimal linear superposition of vibrational states is advocated.     

Shell model interaction between proton holes and between proton holes and neutron particles around 208Pb

An effective residual interaction between particles and holes for shell model calculations around ²⁰⁸Pb, derived from the interaction between free nucleons, is compared with the measured properties of proton-hole neutron states in ²⁰⁸Tl and the interaction between proton holes is adjusted to newly measured level energies in ²⁰⁶Hg. These interaction elements are particularly relevant for neutron-rich nuclei. The adjustment of two mixing elements reproduces the known γ-decay data in ²⁰⁸Tl. 钙钛矿型复合氧化物LaNi_(1-x)Mn_xO_3晶体结构与催化性能的关系

用XRD、IR和TPR等技术研究了钙钛矿型复合氧化物的晶体结构及其反应性能.整个组成范围内,LaNi_(i-x)Mn_xO_3(0.0≤x≤1.0)体系都生成单一钙钛矿相;x=0.0,0.6≤X≤1.0时为菱形晶系,0.2≤x≤0.5为立方晶系.IR和TPR研究表明,晶体结构对B—O键合作用存在较大影响.CO微反考察表明,本体系的催化活性与晶系存在密切关系,晶体对称性越高,反应活性越低.说明钙钛矿型复合氧化物的催化活性与体系活性中心的B—O键合作用能力有关.

Low-lying states of 6He studied via the 6Li(t,3He)6He reaction

We present the recent experimental results on the ⁶He structure studied by the ⁶Li(t, ³He)⁶He reaction at 336 MeV. Above the conspicuous peaks for ground and first excited states for ⁶He, we have observed a broad structures at E _x∼ 5 MeV, and E _x∼ 15 MeV. The angular distribution of this structure exhibits the dominance of a ΔL = 1 transition, indicating the existence of intruder dipole states at low excitation energies in ⁶He.
