Synthesis of Arylidene Derivatives of 1-Aryl-3H-pyrrol-2-ones

The aminolysis of 5-aryl-3-arylidene-3H-furan-2-ones by the action of aromatic amines leads to the formation of substituted amides of 4-oxo acids, the subsequent azacyclization of which in the presence of acetic anhydride leads to the formation of 1,5-diaryl-substituted 3-arylidene-3H-pyrrol-2-ones. The mechanism of the occurring and alternative transformations is discussed.     

Capillary gas chromatography of C1−C4 alkyl tert-butyl ethers

Summary The separation of C₁–C₄ alkyl tert-butyl ethers with the general formula (CH₃)₃C–O–R (R-alkyl substituent) on fused-silica capillary columns coated with dimethylsilicone and cyanopropylmethylsilicone stationary phases was investigated. Retention indices were determined at two temperatures in order to understand their chromatographic behaviour. The respective standard deviations were 0.3 and 0.5 i.u.     

NMR spectroscopy of organophosphorus compounds II: Stereochemistry of [1-(2H-azirin-2-yl)alkyl]phosphonates

Summary The conformation and relative configuration of [1-(2H-azirin-2-yl)alkyl]phosphonates (2) has been established by thorough investigation of some characteristic representatives of the series by¹H,¹³C,¹⁵N, and³¹P NMR spectroscopy. It is shown that the chemical shift of the proton located to the phosphonate group can be used as a criterion for the discrimination and stereochemical assignment of diastereoisomers. NMR spectroscopic features of the compounds are discussed in terms of structural relationships.Dedicated to Univ.-Prof. Dr.K. Schlögl with the best wishes to his 70^th birthday     

Oxidation of aromatic hydrocarbons with oxygen in a radiofrequency plasma

The reactions of three aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, and styrene, with oxygen in a radiofrequency (r) plasma were investigated. Benzene was oxidized to yield phenol as a single volatile organic product. Similarly, toluene gave the ring oxidation products, cresols, as well as considerable amounts of methyl oxidation products, consisting mainly of benzaldehyde and benzyl alcohol. In contrast, the oxidation of styrene took place predominantly on the olefinic double bond to produce styrene oxide On basis of the products and effects of reaction variables, r power and flow rates of hydrocarbons and oxygen, on the reaction rate, the oxidation mechanism was discussed, particularly focusing on the intermediate species responsible for the formation of major products.     

Thermogravimetric analysis of poly(alkyl methacrylates) and poly(methylmethacrylate-g-dimethyl siloxane) graft copolymers

The thermal stabilities of various poly(alkyl methacrylate) homopolymers and poly(methyl methacrylate-g-dimethyl siloxane) (PMMA-g-PSX) graft copolymers have been determined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). As expected, the thermal stabilities of poly(alkyl methacrylates) were a function of the ester alkyl group, and polymerization mechanism. In particular, thermally labile linkages, which result from termination during free radical or nonliving polymerization mechanisms, decrease the ultimate thermal stabilities of the polymers. However, graft copolymers, which were prepared by the macromonomer technique with free radical initiators, exhibited enhanced thermal stability compared to homopolymer controls. A more complex free radical polymerization mechanism for the macromonomer modified polymerization may account for this result. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

Stereo- and regioselective synthesis of 1,3-diaryl-3-chloro-1-propanols via the reaction of aryl aldehydes with styrene and (E)-β-methylstyrene

Reactions of aryl aldehydes with styrene and (E)-β-methylstyrene in the presence of phenylboron dichloride regioselectively generate 1,3-diaryl-3-chloro-1-propanols and 1,3-diaryl-3-chloro-2-methyl-1-propanols in good to excellent yields with high stereoselectivity.     

Electrochemical synthesis of 1,2,3,4,4,5,6-substituted 1,4-dihydropyridines

It has been shown that chemical oxidation of the methyl ester of 3,4,5-trimethoxycarbonyl-1,2,6-trimethyl-1,4-dihydropyridine to the pyridinium salt, requiring forcing experimental conditions, may be replaced by electrochemical oxidation. On electrochemical reduction of 3,4,5-trimethoxycarbonyl-1,2,6-trimethylpyridinium perchlorate in the presence of alkylating agents 1,2,3,4,4,5,6-substituted 1,4-dihydropyridines are obtained. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 2, pp. 226–237, February, 2007.     

胺型键合反相固定相的制备及评价

首次将一种新型硅烷偶联剂--β-（3，4-环氧环已基）乙基三甲氧基硅烷（β-ECTS）与辛胺反应，然后再键合到硅胶上，得到了胺型键合固定相，并用元素分析、^13C固体核磁共振、红外光谱进行了表征。以甲醇和水为二元流动相，用包括碱性、酸性和中性有机化合物在内的混合物对该固定相进行评价，并考察了该填料的适用pH范围及水解稳定性。结果表明，该固定相具有较好的色谱性能，且在pH=2-8之间稳定性能良好，可有效地用于碱性化合物的分析分离。     

One-pot synthesis of N-acyl-substituted sulfamides from chlorosulfonyl isocyanate via the Burgess-type intermediates

The title N-alkoxycarbonyl- or N-aryloxycarbonyl-substituted sulfamides were synthesised in one-pot in efficient yields from chlorosulfonyl isocyanate (CSI), alcohols and aqueous (or dry) amines via the corresponding water-resistant intermediates, carboxysulfamoylammonium salts (Burgess-type reagents), which were generated in situ by the deactivation of the corresponding water-sensitive N-(chlorosulfonyl)carbamates with tertiary amines.     

烷基极化效应与X=O键伸缩振动频率

烷基取代物R’X=0的X=0键伸缩振动频率ν与烷基R的极化效应指数PEI(R)的关系可表示为:ν=a bPEI(R)。研究结果表明,烷基的极化效应使X=0键的伸缩振动频率降低。
