IR-poled second-harmonic generation in glass

Infrared (IR)-induced second-harmonic generation in the chalcogenide glasses is observed. A phenomenological approach of IR picosecond non-linear optical (NLO) response in glass is developed for the middle IR spectral range (5–15 μm). The observed effect is explained within the framework of fifth-order NLO susceptibilities. A model that reproduces the basic characteristics of the experimental data, in which the optical non-linearities caused by photoinduced electron–phonon anharmonic interactions, is proposed. The role of the IR-induced phase matching conditions in the observed phenomenon is discussed.     

Traces of harmonic functions,capacities, and traces of symmetric Markov processes

We derive explicit isomorphism formulas between weighted Dirichlet integrals for harmonic functions and boundary Dirichlet forms. Applications yield results on traces of Markov processes and convergence quasieverywhere of harmonic functions.     

表面垂直裂痕诱发瑞利波散射的数值分析

激光激发的声表面波为材料表面缺陷的检测提供了有力的工具.针对含缺陷材料在模型边界上的复杂性,建立了基于平面应变的有限元模型并选取了相同厚度但含有不同深度的表面裂痕的单层铝板进行了对比计算,得到了声表面波经过不同深度的表面裂痕时产生的反射及透射信号波形的时域特征.进而引入了基于Wigner-Ville分布理论的时-频分析方法计算裂痕前、后散射的瞬态表面波的能量在时间-频率平面内分布的情形.结果显示：声表面波接近中心频率的某一频率成分在经过深度小于其中心波长的表面缺陷时,随着裂痕深度的增加,对应于该频率的反射系数呈现单调递增的趋势;而透射系数呈现递减的特征,这一结果可以为激光超声检测表面缺陷提供一种定量的表征手段.     

40 GHz Mode-Locked Semiconductor Lasers: Theory, Simulations and Experiment

We study both theoretically and experimentally typical operation regimes of 40 GHz monolithic mode-locked lasers. The underlying Traveling Wave Equation model reveals quantitative agreement for characteristics of the fundamental mode-locking as pulse width and repetition frequency tuning, as well as qualitative agreement with the experiments for other dynamic regimes. Especially the appearance of stable harmonic mode-locking at 80 GHz has been predicted theoretically and confirmed by measurements. Furthermore, we derive and apply a simplified Delay-Differential-Equation model which guides us to a qualitative analysis of bifurcations responsible for the appearance and the breakup of different mode-locking regimes. Higher harmonics of mode-locking are predicted by this model as well.     

Nondegeneracy and uniqueness of positive solutions for Robin problem of second order ordinary differential equations and its applications

This article studies positive solutions of Robin problem for semi-linear second order ordinary differential equations. Nondegeneracy and uniqueness results are proven for homogeneous differential equations. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of one or two positive solutions for inhomogeneous differential equations or differential equations with concave-convex nonlinearities are obtained by making use of the nondegeneracy and uniqueness results for positive solutions of homogeneous differential equations.     

Convergence of Riemannian Manifolds and Laplace Operators, II

We study spectral convergence of compact Riemannian manifolds or more generally certain Dirichlet spaces, obtaining some compactness results on harmonic functions and harmonic maps. 激光对生物分子的共振激发作用

金属表面在反射方向产生光学二次谐波的研究(Ⅰ)

用Rudnick和Stern引入的唯象参数“a”和“b”来描述表面电流,本文推导了金属表面在反射方向产生的光学二次谐波的表达式.由此证明了:从谐波信号随入射光偏振态的变化可以直接得到关于参数“a”的信息.和过去的实验相比,这种方法能更加精确、可靠地测定“a”的数值.     

氢化物发生电感耦合等离子体原子发射光谱同时测定纯铜中氢化物和非氢化物形成元素

用新型氢化物发生喇叭口Ⅱ型同心雾化器替代Meinhard同心雾化器，溶液雾化为气溶胶和氢化物发生反应生成氢化物气体就可以在雾化系统中同时进行，选用L-巯基丙氨酸(L-cysteine)和硫脲(thiourea)作为基体铜的掩蔽剂，无需分离基体铜，实现了电感耦合等离子体原子发射光谱(ICP-AES)同时测定纯铜样品中氢化物和非氢化物形成元素的目的。研究了酸度、NaBH4的浓度、载气流速及清洗时间对氢化物形成元素的影响，考察了铜基体对氢化物形成元素的化学干扰情况。用本方法测定了纯铜标准样品(NIST SRM400)，结果令人满意。在1000mg/L纯铜样品溶液中，其氢化物形成元素As、Bi、Sb、Sn、Se和Te的检出限分别为0．08、0．15、0．10、0．17、0．21和0．23μg／L。
