In this article, for the first time, the electrochemical properties of a novel pyridine derivative, 4‐(2‐(2‐hydroxybenzylidene) hydrazinyl)‐1‐(3‐phenylpropyl) pyridinium bromide (abbreviated as 4‐Pyri), and its interaction with double stranded DNA (dsDNA) was investigated. The interaction between candidate drug molecule (4‐Pyri) and dsDNA was analyzed by examining 4‐Pyri (+0.6 V and +0.8 V) and guanine (+1.0 V) oxidation signal changes with Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV) and Cyclic Voltammetry (CV). Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) was used to show the resistance changes before and after the interaction between 4‐Pyri and dsDNA. We showed that after the interaction with 4‐Pyri, the oxidation currents of guanine decreased dramatically, whereas the intrinsic oxidation currents of 4‐Pyri dramatically increased. 4‐Pyri oxidation current differences before and after the interaction with dsDNA enabled us to determine such interaction separately from guanine oxidation signals. In addition, resistance differences were observed at before and after the interaction with each other that confirmed the possible interaction. In addition, toxicity effect (S%) value, which is an important parameter for electrochemical studies indicated 4‐Pyri's toxicity to dsDNA. Our results demonstrated that 4‐Pyri interacts with dsDNA, and could be used as a potential candidate drug molecule due to its remarkable impact on dsDNA.  相似文献

This study was carried out to assess the spermicidal action of hexane extract from the fruits of Piper longum Linn. The sperm immobilisation studies showed that 20 mg/mL of hexane extract was able to immobilise sperms completely within 20 s. The sperm revival test revealed that the effects were spermicidal as sperm immobilisation effect was irreversible. There was also a significant reduction in sperm viability in the treated group in comparison to the control. The hypo-osmotic swelling of these sperms was significantly reduced, indicating that the hexane extract may probably cause injury to the sperm plasma membrane. Hence, this study showed that the hexane extract of P. longum possesses potential contraceptive spermicidal activity in vitro.  相似文献

Integration of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as components of advanced electronic devices is at a very early phase of development and the fundamental issues related to their crystal growth on conductive substrate need to be addressed. Herein, we report on the structural characterization of a newly synthesized Sr-based MOF {[Sr(2,5-Pzdc)(H2O)2] ⋅ 3 H2O}n ( 1 ) and the uniform crystal growth of compound 1 on a conducting glass (fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO)) substrate using electrochemical deposition techniques. The Sr-based MOF 1 was synthesized by the reaction of Sr(NO3)2 with 2,5-pyrazinedicarboxylic acid dihydrate (2,5-Pzdc) under solvothermal conditions. A single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that 1 has a 3D structure and crystallizes in the triclinic P space group. In addition, the uniform crystal growth of this MOF on a conducting glass (FTO) substrate was successfully achieved using electrochemical deposition techniques. Only a handful of MOFs have been reposed to grown on conductive surfaces, which makes this study an important focal point for future research on the applications of MOF-based devices in microelectronics.  相似文献

Laser cutting of hole in a mild steel thick sheet metal is investigated. Temperature and stress fields developed around the cutting section are simulated using the finite element method. An experimental is carried out accommodating the simulation parameters. The residual stress developed in the cutting section is measured using the XRD technique and findings are compared with the predictions. Optical microscopy and SEM are carried out to examine the morphological changes in the cutting sections. It is found that temperature decays sharply in the region of the laser heat source, which results in high temperature gradient in this region. This causes the development of high stress levels around the cut edges. The residual stresses predicted are in agreement with the measured results.  相似文献

Water Purification by Plasmas: Which Reactors are Most Energy Efficient?   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Decomposition of toxic organic compounds is a major environmental problem. Increasingly, research is being conducted to use plasmas to decompose these wastes in water, as it is simple, effective and does not require the addition of other chemical agents. Different groups have used varied reactor designs. This study calculates and compares relative energy yields of about 27 major types of plasma reactors. The results reveal dramatic differences in the energy yields, up to five orders of magnitude. The most efficient are pulse powered reactors, in which plasma is formed in gas phase and the waste solution sprayed into it. Factors that account for this improved energy yield are discussed. This study will help narrow down efficient reactors for further studies, development and commercial uses.  相似文献

This paper presents a generalization of the incompressible Oldroyd‐B model based on a thermodynamic framework within which the fluid can be viewed to exist in multiple natural configurations. The response of the fluid is viewed as a combination of an elastic component and a dissipative component. The dissipative component leads to the evolution of the underlying natural configurations, while the response from the natural configuration to the current configuration is considered elastic and therefore non‐dissipative. For an incompressible fluid, it is necessary that both the elastic behavior as well as the dissipative behavior is isochoric. This is achieved by ensuring that the determinant of the stretch tensor associated with the elastic response meets the constraint that its determinant is unity. A new stabilized mixed method is developed for the velocity, pressure and the kinematic tensor fields. Analytical models for fine scale fields are derived via the solution of the fine‐scale equations facilitated by the Variational Multiscale framework that are then variationally embedded in the coarse‐scale variational equations. The resulting method inherits the attributes of the classical SUPG and GLS methods, while a significant new contribution is that the form of the stabilization tensors is explicitly derived. A family of linear and quadratic tetrahedral and hexahedral elements is developed with equal‐order interpolations for the various fields. Numerical tests are presented that validate the incompressibility of the elastic stretch tensor, show optimal L2 convergence for the conformation tensor field, and present stable response for high Weissenberg number flows.
