A newly developed ceramic fibre hydrophone with an active element as small as 0.25 mm in diameter is described in this work. Lead magnesium niobate-lead titanate (PMN-PT) ceramic fibre with a nominal composition of 0.65Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.35PbTiO3 was fabricated by an extrusion method. PMN-PT single crystals were ground to a powder form and then mixed with poly(acrylic) acid to form a homogenous slurry. The fibre was extruded by pressing the slurry through a spinneret and then sintering at 1250 °C for crystallization. The electrical characteristics of the PMN-PT fibre were evaluated by measuring the relative permittivity and the impedance spectrum. A piezoelectric PMN-PT fibre hydrophone was fabricated and its sensitivity, angular response, and spatial resolution were evaluated. A bright white organic light-emitting diode (OLED) has been successfully fabricated in which a greenish-white emitting host Bis-(2-(2-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole)zinc (Zn(BTZ)2) is doped with an orange-red fluorescent dye 5,6,11,12-tetraphenylnaphthacene (rubrene). The pure white light emission with CIE coordinates of (0.341, 0.334) is achieved at the driving voltage of 20 V, and the corresponding luminance and external quantum efficiency are 4000 Cd/m2 and 0.63%. On the other hand, the pure red, green, and blue (RGB) emissions are obtained from the white OLED combined well with RGB custom-built optical color filters (CFs) with peaks at 616, 556, and 456 nm, respectively. Generation scheduling (GS) in power systems is a tough optimisation problem which continues to present a challenge for efficient solution techniques. The solution is to define on/off decisions and generation levels for each electricity generator of a power system for each scheduling interval. The solution procedure requires simultaneous consideration of binary decision and continuous variables. In recent years researchers have focused much attention on developing new hybrid approaches using evolutionary and traditional exact methods for this type of mixed-integer problems. This paper investigates how the optimum or near optimum solution for the GS problem may be quickly identified. A design is proposed which uses a variety of metaheuristic, heuristics and mathematical programming techniques within a hybrid framework. The results obtained for two case studies are promising and show that the hybrid approach offers an effective alternative for solving the GS problems within a realistic timeframe. 相似文献

Optical parametric amplification is an important nonlinear process in photonic crystal fibres driven by the small effective area and the special dispersion characteristics of these fibres. Aside from its role in supercontinuum generation, parametric amplification can lead to efficient wavelength conversion, limited primarily by the uniformity of the diameter of currently available fibres.
