Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is a versatile, bioabsorbable, and biodegradable polymer with excellent biocompatibility and ability to incorporate a great variety of active agents. Silver sulfadiazine (SDZ) is an antibiotic used to control bacterial infection in external wounds. Aiming to combine the properties of PLA and SDZ, hydrotalcite ([Mg–Al]‐LDH) was used as a host matrix to obtain an antimicrobial system efficient in delivering SDZ from electrospun PLA scaffolds intended for wound skin healing. The structural reconstruction method was successfully applied to intercalate silver sulfadiazine in the [Mg–Al]‐LDH, as evidenced by X‐ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analyses. Observations by scanning electron microscopy revealed a good distribution of SDZ‐[Mg–Al]‐LDH within the PLA scaffold. Kinetics studies revealed a slow release of SDZ from the PLA scaffold due to the intercalation in the [Mg–Al]‐LDH. In vitro antimicrobial tests indicated a significant inhibitory effect of SDZ‐[Mg–Al]‐LDH against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This antibacterial activity was sustained in the 2.5‐wt% SDZ‐[Mg–Al]‐LDH–loaded PLA nanofibers, which also displayed excellent biocompatibility towards human cells. The multifunctionality of the PLA/SDZ‐[Mg–Al]‐LDH scaffold reported here is of great significance for various transdermal applications. 相似文献

Steady-state polarization measurements of lithium titanium oxide (LTO; Li[Li1/3Ti5/3]O4) were carried out using the 0-V lithium-ion cells consisting of two identical LTO-electrodes with a parallel-plate symmetrical electrode configuration. The sinusoidal voltage with the peak amplitude of 1.0 V was imposed at 0.1 Hz upon the 0-V cells and the current response was measured as a function of time. The steady-state polarization, obtained by plotting the current versus applied voltage, was linear in current up to approximately 60 mA cm?2 or 4 A g?1 based on the LTO weight and suggested the resistance polarization only for the lithium insertion electrode of the LTO. The method was also applied to lithium aluminum manganese oxide (LAMO; Li[Li0.1Al0.1Mn1.8]O4) and the resistance polarization of the LAMO-electrode was determined for currents up to approximately 25 mA cm?2 or 2 A g?1 based on the LAMO weight. The validity of the results was examined for the polarization measurements of the 2.5-V lithium-ion battery consisting of LTO and LAMO, and the significance of the polarization measurements of lithium insertion electrodes for high-power applications was discussed. 相似文献

A new rhodium-based catalytic system for the direct C-H coupling of arenes and iodoarenes that shows high activity with reasonably broad scope was developed. Under the catalytic influence of RhCl(CO){P[OCH(CF3)2]3}2 and Ag2CO3, the direct C-H arylation of heteroarenes and arenes took place with iodoarenes to afford a range of biaryls in good to excellent yields with high regioselectivity. Binding energies of selected hydrogen bonded complexes have been calculated within the framework of density functional theory (DFT) method to discuss the efficiency of numerical basis sets implemented in the DFT code DMol3 in comparison with Gaussian basis sets. The corrections of basis set superposition error (BSSE) are evaluated by means of counterpoise method. Two kinds of different numerical basis sets in size are examined; the size of the one is comparable to Gaussian double zeta plus polarization function basis set (DNP), and that of the other is comparable to triple zeta plus double polarization functions basis set (TNDP). We have confirmed that the magnitudes of BSSE in these numerical basis sets are comparative to or smaller than those in Gaussian basis sets whose sizes are much larger than the corresponding numerical basis sets; the BSSE corrections in DNP are less than those in the Gaussian 6-311+G(3df,2pd) basis set, and those in TNDP are comparable to those in the substantially large scale Gaussian basis set aug-cc-pVTZ. The differences in counterpoise corrected binding energies between calculated using DNP and calculated using aug-cc-pVTZ are less than 9 kJ/mol for all of the complexes studied in the present work. The present results have shown that the cost effectiveness in the numerical basis sets in DMol3 is superior to that in Gaussian basis sets in terms of accuracy per computational cost. 相似文献

The laser-induced fluorescence spectra of jet-cooled benzo-18-crown-6 (B18C6) and dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) exhibit a number of vibronic bands in the 35 000-37 000 cm(-1) region. We attribute these bands to monomers and hydrated clusters by fluorescence-detected IR-UV and UV-UV double resonance spectroscopy. We found four and two conformers for bare B18C6 and DB18C6, and the hydration of one water molecule reduces the number of isomers to three and one for B18C6-(H(2)O)(1) and DB18C6-(H(2)O)(1), respectively. The IR-UV spectra of B18C6-(H(2)O)(1) and DB18C6-(H(2)O)(1) suggest that all isomers of the monohydrated clusters have a double proton-donor type (bidentate) hydration. That is, the water molecule is bonded to B18C6 or DB18C6 via two O-H[dot dot dot]O hydrogen bonds. The blue shift of the electronic origin of the monohydrated clusters and the quantum chemical calculation suggest that the water molecule in B18C6-(H(2)O)(1) and DB18C6-(H(2)O)(1) prefers to be bonded to the ether oxygen atoms near the benzene ring. 相似文献

Use of a bis(terpyridine)ruthenium(II) derivative as an N-terminal labeling reagent resulted in the simultaneous detection and individual determination of all the N-terminal fragments of the proteins in a mixture without requiring any separation. All of the N-termini of the guanidinated proteins were labeled selectively by the ruthenium complex (-CO-labeling). After chymotryptic digestion, the fragments were analyzed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) and post-source decay (PSD). The -CO moiety exclusively enhanced N-terminal fragment ions in mass spectra and enabled easy N-terminal sequencing. In a mixture containing three different proteins (lysozyme, ubiquitin, and insulin), all of the N-terminal fragment ions labeled with the ruthenium complex were found to produce uniformly intense peaks without the detection of the other unlabeled fragments. The N-terminal sequences of these ions were determined individually by PSD analysis. Application to unknown proteins from Thermus thermophilus HB8 with two-dimensional electrophoretic separation resulted in the successful determination of the N-terminal sequence and easy identification of the target protein. 相似文献
