An atomic absorption spectrophotometer is coupled to a conventional thermoanalytical quartz furnace as used for TG and DTG to detect the thermally evolved products. In this combined system, the dry aerosol (smoke) obtained by cooling the vapour evolved is transported from the furnace to the flame for metal-specific atomic absorption detection. The particular design of the furnace outlet promotes the formation of stable aerosols. Optimum experimental conditions were determined, using zinc chloride solution, by varying the specimen mass, the heating rate and the flow rate of the furnace gas at a linear temperature program. The absorbancevs. temperature curves obtained with this method for various zinc compounds are compared with the corresponding DTG curves. The applicability of the technique for studying heterogeneous reactions with carbon tetrachloride and hexane vapours is presented. The utilization of an atomic absorption spectrophotometer equipped with a quartz cuvette for detecting the thermal evolution of mercury vapours is described, as well as detection potentials by molecular absorption (for NO and NH3) and light scattering (for smoke evolved from organic matter). The results obtained with the suggested methods may, in some respects, valuably complement the results achieved with DTG and with flame ionization detection.

Zusammenfassung Ein Atomabsorptionsspektrometer wurde mit einem konventionellen thermoanalytischen Quarzofen gekoppelt um thermische Abspaltprodukte nachzuweisen. In diesem kombinierten System wird das durch Kühlung des entwickelten Dampfes erhaltene Aerosol (Rauch) vom Ofen in die Flamme für den metallspezifischen Atomabsorptionsnachweis übergeleitet. Die spezielle Ausbildung der Austrittsöffnung gewährleistet die Bildung eines stabilen Aerosols. Die optimalen Versuchsbedingungen wurden durch Zinkchloridlösungen bei Anderung der Probenmasse, der Aufheizgeschwindigkeit und der Strömungsgeschwindigkeit des Ofengases im linearen Temperaturprogramm ermittelt. Die mit dieser Methode für verschiedene Zinkverbindungen erhaltenen Absorptions—Temperatur-Kurven wurden mit den entsprechenden DTG-Kurven verglichen. Die Anwendbarkeit dieser Technik bei dem Studium heterogener Reaktionen mit Kohlenstofftetrachlorid und Hexandämpfen wird gezeigt. Der Einsatz eines mit einer Quarzküvette zum Nachweis der thermischen Entwicklung von Quecksilberdampf versehenen Atomabsorptionsspektrometers wird beschrieben, sowie die Nachweisgrenze durch molekulare Absorption (für NO und NH3) und Lichtstreuung (für aus organischem Material entwickelten Rauch). Die bei den beschriebenen Methoden erhaltenen Ergebnisse können, in mancher Hinsicht, die durch DTG und Flammenionisationsnachweis erhaltenen Ergebnisse wertvoll ergänzen.

Combining the Charged Particle Activation Analysis (CPAA) and the Channeling Technique, the partial concentrations of the impurity carbon atoms in different crystal lattice locations of GaAs were claculated. Hexane is a toxic volatile organic compound that is quite abundant in gas emissions from chemical industries and printing
press and painting centers, and it is necessary to treat these airstreams before they discharge into the atmosphere. This
article presents a treatment for hexane-contaminated air in steady-state conditions using an internal-loop airlift bioreactor
inoculated with a Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain. Bioprocesses were conducted at 20-mL/min, a load of 1.26 g/m3 of C6H14, and a temperature of 28°C. The results of hexane removal efficiencies were presented as a function of the inoculum size
(approx 0.07 and 0.2 g/L) and cell reuse. Bioprocess monitoring comprises quantification of the biomass, the surface tension
of the medium, and the hexane concentration in the fermentation medium as well as in the inlet and outlet airstreams. The
steady-state results suggest that the variation in inoculum size from 0.07 to 0.2 g/L promotes hexane abatement from the influent
from 65 to 85%, respectively. Total hydrocarbon removal from the waste gas was achieved during experiments conducted using
reused cells at an initial microbial concentration of 0.2 g/L. 相似文献

Curing reactions of the epoxy system consisting of a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (BADGE n=0) and m-xylylenediamine (m-XDA) were studied to calculate time-temperature-transformation (TTT) isothermal cure diagram for this system. Gel times were
measured as a function of temperature using solubility test. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to calculate
the vitrification times. DSC data show a one-to-one relationship between T
g and fractional conversion, a independent of cure temperature. As a consequence, T
g can be used as a measure of conversion. The activation energy for the polymerization overall reaction was calculated from
the gel times obtained using the solubility test (41.5 kJ mol-1). This value is similar to the results obtained for other similar epoxy systems. Isoconversion contours were calculated by
numerical integration of the best fitting kinetic model.

There is a strong demand for novel native peptide motifs for post-synthetic modifications of peptides without pre-installation and subsequent removal of directing groups. Herein, we report an efficient method for peptide late-stage C(sp3)–H arylations assisted by the unmodified side chain of asparagine (Asn) without any exogenous directing group. Thereby, site-selective arylations of C(sp3)–H bonds at the N-terminus of di-, tri-, and tetrapeptides have been achieved. Summary A new, highly sensitive and selective gas chromatography method, using radiochemical detection (GC-DR) was developed for the
selective determination of3H-labelled deramciclane and its N-desmethyl metabolite in dog plasma. Inter-day accuracy and precision, as well as system
suitability of the GC-RD method was investigated during the method validation. The calibration curve was proved to be linear
(r=0.9986) in a wide concentration range (13–1000 ngeqv mL−1)
The lower limit of quantitation (LLOQ) was 13.7 ngeqv mL−1, and the limit of the detection (LOD) was 1 ngeqv mL−1.
Using this new GC-RD method, plasma levels of3H-labelled deramciclane and its metabolite were determined in dogs, after the administration of a single 10 mg kg−1 oral dose. Pharmacokinetic curves and the calculated pharmacokinetic parameters were compared to those obtained using a previously
elaborated gas chromatography-nitrogen selective detection method (GC-NPD) and to those obtained by measuring the plasma level
of total radioactivity (liquid scintillation counting, LSC). Pharmacokinetic curves and the calculated pharmacokinetic parameters
obtained with the two different gas chromatography detection methods (NPD and RD) showed good correlation. Comparison of these
results to those acquired by total radioactivity measurement demonstrated that deramciclane was intensively metabolised. Moreover,
the biological half-life (t

2/β
) of the unknown metabolites proved to be more than a magnitude longer than the half-life of the parent compound or that of
N-desmethyl metabolite.

The binding of the water soluble derivative of pyrene, pyrenylmethyl tri-n-butylphosphonium bromide (PMTP), to single strand polynucleotides has been characterised by changes in the absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, the fluorescence lifetime and the time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy of PMTP. For polyguanylic acid at low ionic strength, there are two modes of binding; external ionic binding and intercalation between the bases. The former results in PMTP excimer formation and the latter involves a charge-transfer complex between PMTP and guanine bases. Polyadenylic acid and polyinosinic acid show only external binding and poly[C] exhibits an interaction which is a combination of external binding and partial intercalation. Single strand DNA binds PMTP by intercalation and external binding at low ionic strength. In the presence of 0.2 M sodium chloride, only binding by intercalation between the bases occurs for poly[G]. Single strand DNA bound PMPT by partial intercalation, as well as full intercalation between the bases, but polyadenylic acid, polycytidylic acid and polyinosinic acid showed no significant binding in the presence of 0.2 M sodium chloride. The differences in the binding of PMTP are attributed to variations in the rigidity and form the structures of single strand polynucleotides adopt in solution. A full analysis of the binding isotherms has been made using methods based on Scatchard plots and the McGhee and von Hippel approach, which are critically compared. 相似文献

We show rigorously that the ground state of a quantum chain with competing ferromagnetic nearest and antiferromagnetic next nearest interactions undergoes a transition from ferromagnetic to helical type, in the isotropic case, for a certain value of the relevant ratio of coupling constants. Boundaries of the phase diagram are also determined in the anisotropic case. The stability of a special quantum state (corresponding to a classical modulated phase of =/3) is analyzed by an extension of Holstein-Primakoff arguments, along a line of constant ratio of couplings, showing in particular a sequence of (instability) gaps. Finally, a natural adaptation of a variational wave function due to Huse and Elser is used to study several portions of the phase diagram, with very good agreement with previous theoretical results. 相似文献
