The alkali metal- and ammonium picrate extracting ability of d-glucose- and d-mannose-based 15-crown-5 ethers and related lariat ethers was investigated in dichloromethane – water system. A heteroatom was waried in the crown ether containing a 4,6-O-benzylidene-α-d-glucopyranoside unit 6, (X=O), 2 (X=S) and 8a (X=NH). Extracting ability of the latter species (8a) was excellent (97–99%) in regard of all cations (Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+, Cs+ and NH4+) examined, it was not, howewer, selective. Introduction of a side arm on the nitrogen atom of 8a decreased the extracting ability, but increased the selectivity. In this series of compounds (8b–f, 4), 4 with a pyridylethyl substituent allowed the extraction of sodium picrate in 72%. The glucose-based macrocycles 8a, 8e and 8f formed a stronger complex with the cations examined than the mannose-based analogues 9a, 9e and 9f, that can be explained by the all-gauche conformation of the former ones. It was pointed out that in the case of crowns with tertiary amine moieties, the basicity increases the quantity of the picrates extracted. According to complex forming measurements by FAB-MS, the best sodium ion selectivity was achieved by the γ-hydroxypropyl substituted lariat ether (8e). Possible structures of the complexes formed by the two types of monosacharides with sodium cation were evaluated by molecule modelling calculations. 相似文献

There exists a complex and multifactorial relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Hyperglycemia is an important factor imposing damage (glucose toxicity) on cardiac cell leading to diabetic cardiomyopathy. There are substantial clinical evidences on the adverse effects of conventional therapies in the prevention/treatment of diabetic cardiovascular complications. Currently, green-synthesized nanoparticles have emerged as a safe, efficient, and inexpensive alternative for therapeutic uses. The present study discloses the silver nanoparticle biosynthesizing capability and cardioprotective potential of Syzygium cumini seeds already reported to have antidiabetic properties. Newly generated silver nanoparticles S. cumini MSE silver nanoparticles (SmSNPs) were characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), zeta sizer, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Using methanolic extract of S. cumini seeds, an average size of 40–100-nm nanoparticles with 43.02 nm and ?19.6 mV zeta potential were synthesized. The crystalline nature of SmSNPs was identified by using XRD. 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) assays revealed the antioxidative potential to be 66.87 (±0.7) % and 86.07 (±0.92) % compared to 60.29 (±0.02) % and 85.67 (±1.27) % for S. cumini MSE. In vitro study on glucose-stressed H9C2 cardiac cells showed restoration in cell size, nuclear morphology, and lipid peroxide formation upon treatment of SmSNPs. Our findings concluded that S. cumini MSE SmSNPs significantly suppress the glucose-induced cardiac stress in vitro by maintaining the cellular integrity and reducing the oxidative damages therefore establishing its therapeutic potential in diabetic cardiomyopathy. 相似文献

We report quantum Hall experiments on the plateau-insulator transition in a low mobility In(0.53)Ga(0.47)As/InP heterostructure. The data for the longitudinal resistance rho(xx) follow an exponential law and we extract a critical exponent kappa = 0.55+/-0. 05 which is slightly different from the established value kappa = 0. 42+/-0.04 for the plateau transitions. Upon correction for inhomogeneity effects, which cause the critical conductance sigma(*)(xx) to depend marginally on temperature, our data indicate that the plateau-plateau and plateau-insulator transitions are in the same universality class. 相似文献
