We discuss the scenario with TeV-scale right-handed neutrinos, which are accessible at future colliders, while holding down tiny seesaw-induced masses and sizable couplings to the standard-model particles. The signal with tri-lepton final states and large missing transverse energy is appropriate for studying collider signatures of the scenario with extra spatial dimensions. We show that the LHC experiment generally has a potential to discover the signs of extra dimensions and the origin of small neutrino masses.  相似文献

Given a directed graph D = (V,A) with a set of d specified vertices S = {s 1,…, s d } ⊆ V and a function f: S → ℕ where ℕ denotes the set of natural numbers, we present a necessary and sufficient condition such that there exist Σ i=1 d f(s i ) arc-disjoint in-trees denoted by T i,1,T i,2,…, for every i = 1,…,d such that T i,1,…, are rooted at s i and each T i,j spans the vertices from which s i is reachable. This generalizes the result of Edmonds [2], i.e., the necessary and sufficient condition that for a directed graph D=(V,A) with a specified vertex sV, there are k arc-disjoint in-trees rooted at s each of which spans V. Furthermore, we extend another characterization of packing in-trees of Edmonds [1] to the one in our case. Supported by JSPS Research Fellowships for Young Scientists. Five bicyclic dioxetanes bearing a 2-hydroxynaphthyl group, 1aA-1eA, were synthesized and their chemiluminescent decomposition was examined by the use of tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) as a base in DMSO. It was found that these dioxetanes hold completely the ‘odd/even’ relationship between the substitution pattern of hydroxy as a trigger on the naphthalene ring and their chemiluminescent efficiency, and that dioxetane 1aA exhibited chemiluminescence with the highest efficiency among those for the oxynaphthyl-substituted dioxetanes hitherto known. The significant change in chemiluminescent efficiency depending on the substitution pattern was clarified to be attributed to the marked change in singlet-chemiexcitation efficiency for charge-transfer-induced chemiluminescence (CTICL) of 1aA-1eA. In respect of the rate of CTICL-decomposition, ‘odd/even’ relationship was observed for 1aA-1dA.  相似文献

Bicyclic dioxetanes 2a, 2b, and 3, bearing a 3-hydroxy-5-naphthylphenyl moiety underwent charge-transfer-induced decomposition with accompanying emission of light, the color of which changed from red to blue responding to a complex of crown ether with potassium t-butoxide used as a base. Furthermore, they afforded unusual chemiluminescence, the spectra of which displayed two peaks in some cases. It was observed for chemiluminescences in the coordination sphere with crown ether that their spectra did not coincide with the spectra of authentic emitters.  相似文献

We discuss the energy density, temperature and entropy of dark matter (DM) and dark energy (DE) as functions of the scale factor a in an expanding universe. In a model of non-interacting dark components we repeat a derivation from thermodynamics of the well-known relations between the energy density, entropy and temperature. In particular, the entropy is constant as a consequence of the energy conservation. We consider a model of a DM/DE interaction where the DM energy density increase is proportional to the particle density. In such a model the dependence of the energy density and the temperature on the scale factor a is substantially modified. We discuss (as a realization of the model) DM which consists of relativistic particles diffusing in an environment of DE. The energy gained by the dark matter comes from a cosmological fluid with a negative pressure. We define the entropy and free energy of such a non-equilibrium system. We show that during the universe evolution the entropy of DM is increasing whereas the entropy of DE is decreasing. The total entropy can increase (in spite of the energy conservation) as the DM and DE temperatures are different. We discuss non-equilibrium thermodynamics on the basis of the notion of the relative entropy.  相似文献

We present a precise measurement of the CP violation parameter sin2φ1 and the direct CP violation parameter A(f) using the final data sample of 772×10(6) BB[over ˉ] pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. One neutral B meson is reconstructed in a J/ψK(S)(0), ψ(2S)K(S)(0), χ(c1)K(S)(0), or J/ψK(L)(0) CP eigenstate and its flavor is identified from the decay products of the accompanying B meson. From the distribution of proper-time intervals between the two B decays, we obtain the following CP violation parameters: sin2φ1=0.667±0.023(stat)±0.012(syst) and A(f)=0.006±0.016(stat)±0.012(syst).  相似文献

We report first observations of B(s)(0) → J/ψη and B(s)(0) → J/ψη'. The results are obtained from 121.4 fb(-1) of data collected at the Υ(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ e- collider. We obtain the branching fractions B(B(s)(0) → J/ψη)=[5.10±0.50(stat)±0.25(syst)(-0.79)(+1.14)(N(B(s)(*) B(s)(*))]×10(-4), and B(B(s)(0) → J/ψη')=[3.71±0.61(stat)±0.18(syst)(-0.57)(+0.83)(N(B(s)(*) B(s)(*))]×10(-4). The ratio of the two branching fractions is measured to be (B(B(s) → J/ψη'))/(B(B(s) → J/ψη))=0.73±0.14(stat)±0.02(syst).  相似文献

To assess optical characteristics of bifocal soft contact lenses (BCLs) in use, we measured wavefront aberrations of human eyes, of eyes with a monofocal soft contact lens (MCL), and of eyes with a BCL. Modulation transfer functions (MTFs), Strehl ratios, and simulated images for far and near vision were produced with the measured aberrations. High order aberrations of subject 1 were significantly smaller than those of subject 2 (t-test, P = 0.001). We found that wearing the BCL improved the optical quality of an eye in subject 1, expressed as the horizontal MTF from 2 to 48 cycles per degree (cpd) for near vision and the Strehl ratio (t-test, P = 0.009 for Strehl ratio). But we did not find the same effect in subject 2. This difference may be due to the difference in the aberrations of the eyes of the two subjects.  相似文献
