Detection of a β-Chlorovinyl Complex of Platinum(IV) (an Intermediate of Hydrochlorination of Acetylene by HCl Gas) on the Surface of the Mechanically Activated Salt K2PtCl6

We have used NMR spectroscopy to detect an intermediate of catalytic hydrochlorination of acetylene on the surface of the mechanically activated solid salt K₂PtCl₆: a -chlorovinyl complex of platinum(IV).     

Estimates of the Catalytic Efficiency of a Heterogeneous Catalyst for Acetylene Hydrochlorination on the Surface of Mechanically Activated K2PtCl6 Salt

Acetylene hydrochlorination by gaseous HCl on the surface of the mechanically activated salt K₂PtCl₆ is shown to occur as a catalytic reaction. Using a modified kinetic distribution method, the specific catalytic activity of the mechanically activated catalyst was found to be equal to 0.2 (mol C₂H₂) (mol Pt)^–1 s^–1.     

Synthesis ofN-alkylamides of 3-fluoroalkylaziridine-2-carboxylic acids

The N-alkylamides of 3-fluoroalkylaziridine-2-carboxylic acids have been prepared for the first time by the interaction of ethyl 0-fltioroalkyl-,-dibromocarboxylates with primary amines.Prepared by a known procedure;² characteristics of previously unknown ester1b are given in the Experimental section.     

Synthesis of phosphinic and phosphoric analogs of aspartic acid

Approaches to the synthesis of 1-amino- and 2-amino-2-carboxyethylphosphinic and-phosphoric acids have been studied. A convenient method for the preparation of phosphinic acids is the reactions of ethyl diethoxymethylphosphonite with ethyl acetamidomethylenemalonate and ethyl 2-acetamidoacrylate.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Preparation and properties of 2-mercurated phenylacetaldehyde

Summary A method is proposed for the synthesis of 2-monomercurated phenylacetaldehyde and acetophenone by the addition of mercuric salts to phenyl-substituted vinyl ethers and esters.
