On completely irreducible operators

Let T be a bounded linear operator on Hilbert space H, M an invariant subspace of T. If there exists another invariant subspace N of T such that H = M + N and M ∩ N = 0, then M is said to be a completely reduced subspace of T. If T has a nontrivial completely reduced subspace, then T is said to be completely reducible; otherwise T is said to be completely irreducible. In the present paper we briefly sum up works on completely irreducible operators that have been done by the Functional Analysis Seminar of Jilin University in the past ten years and more. The paper contains four sections. In section 1 the background of completely irreducible operators is given in detail. Section 2 shows which operator in some well-known classes of operators, for example, weighted shifts, Toeplitz operators, etc., is completely irreducible. In section 3 it is proved that every bounded linear operator on the Hilbert space can be approximated by the finite direct sum of completely irreducible operators. It is clear that a completely irreducible operator is a rather suitable analogue of Jordan blocks in L(H), the set of all bounded linear operators on Hilbert space H. In section 4 several questions concerning completely irreducible operators are discussed and it is shown that some properties of completely irreducible operators are different from properties of unicellular operators. __________ Translated from Acta Sci. Propagation of the Hermite–Gaussian beams through misaligned optical system with a circular aperture

By means of expanding a hard-edged aperture into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, the approximate analytical formula of one kind of higher-order Gaussian beams called the Hermite–Gaussian beams (HGBs) passing through circular apertured and misaligned optical system is obtained in this paper. The result provides more convenience for studying its propagation than the usual way by using diffraction integral directly. Some numerical simulations are also given for illustrating the propagation properties of the HGBs through the circular apertured optical systems.

提出了一种新型—Michelson—三面镜FabryPerot型50GHz不等带宽光学梳状滤波器设计方案,分析和模拟表明:该器件将一路信道间隔为50GHz的输入信号分离成信道间隔为100GHz的奇偶两路输出信号,其中在3dB处,奇数信道带宽大于30GHz用于10Gb/s传输,偶数信道带宽大于60GHz用于40Gb/s传输对于将来的40Gb/s系统,该器件具有优势.     

Co-P非晶态合金电子性质和局域结构的理论研究

根据Co P非晶态合金结构的短程有序和结构中可能存在P -P相互作用的实验事实 ,选择了单磷原子簇模型ConP(n =1～ 5 )和双磷原子簇模型ConP2 (n =1～ 4 ) ,用密度泛函理论方法对其进行计算 .结果表明 ,在单磷Co2 P( 2 ) 、Co3 P( 1) 及Co4P( 2 ) 模型体系中 ,Co原子供给P原子电子 ,与电负性规则一致 ,同时Co和P之间具较强化学作用 ,可以形成稳定的原子簇 ;而在双磷和单磷原子簇Co5P( 1) 模型体系中 ,形成的原子簇不稳定 ,采用单磷Co2 P( 2 ) 、Co3 P( 1) 及Co4P( 2 ) 模型能较好地反映Co P非晶态合金的结构特点 .     

串联双环光微谐振器的滤波特性

详细研究了串联双环光微谐振器的光带通滤波特性，给出了其通带带宽的公式，分析了出／入环光耦合系数和环间光耦合系数对通带特性的影响，计算并特别强调了滤波通带的结构特点，也分析了微环中存在的光损耗对串联双环光微谐振器的滤波特性的影响。     

氢原子光谱实验研究

氢原子的结构简单，其光谱具有明显的规律，各种原子光谱线规律性的研究首先是在氢原子上得到突破。通过测量氢光谱可见谱线的波长，能较准确测定氢的里德伯常数，可使学生对近代物理测量有初步了解。     

Synthesis,structure, spectroscopic and magnetic properties of a novel two-dimensional copper(II) complex Na2[Cu(pba)] · 6H2O [pba = 1,3-propylenebis(oxamato)]

The copper(II) complex Na₂[Cu(pba)] · 6H₂O has been synthesized and its structure determined. It consists of a novel two-dimensional network of [Cu(pba)]^2– anions connected to each other through the sodium ion as a bridge. Spectroscopic and magnetic properties have been measured and a spin distribution calculation has been carried out with the GAUSSIAN-94. Theoretical calculations indicate the rather larger spin density on nitrogen atoms should be responsible for the satellite lines appearing beside the main hyperfine coupling signs of copper(II). The antiferromagnetic interaction may be due to the intermolecular interaction and/or different copper(II) ions through the Na⁺ bridge in the same layer.     

Jensen's inequality for g-expectation: part 1

Briand et al. (Electron. Comm. Probab. 5 (2000) 101–117) gave a counterexample and proposition to show that given g,g-expectations usually do not satisfy Jensen's inequality for most of convex functions. This yields a natural question, under which conditions on g, do g-expectations satisfy Jensen's inequality for convex functions? In this paper, we shall deal with this question in the case that g is convex and give a necessary and sufficient condition on g under which Jensen's inequality holds for convex functions. Analysis on Shack–Hartmann wave-front sensor with Fourier optics

In Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWS), the behavior of the irradiance pattern produced by the micro-lens array is important for an accurate centroid estimation. In this paper, the behavior of a micro-lens array in SHWS is analyzed using Fourier optics, and reveals that in addition to the main, expected spots, secondary spots with smaller intensities also appeared as a result of diffraction by the small dimensions of the micro-lens and interference from the different micro-lenses. This result is confirmed by comparing with a irradiance pattern taken from an actual SHWS. The additional error in centroid estimation caused by these secondary spots is discussed and relationship to the parameters of the micro-lens of SHWS is analyzed.
