Light scattered from biological tissues can exhibit an inverse power law spectral component. We develop a model based on the Born approximation and von Karman (self-affine) spatial correlation of submicron tissue refractive index to account for this. The model is applied to light scattering spectra obtained from excised esophagi of normal and carcinogen-treated rats. Power law exponents used to fit dysplastic tissue site spectra are significantly smaller than those from normal sites, indicating that changes in tissue self-affinity can serve as a potential biomarker for precancer.  相似文献

This article describes mathematical models for phase separated mixtures of materials that are in pressure and velocity equilibrium but not necessarily temperature equilibrium. We report on the observation of an interaction blockade effect for ultracold atoms in optical lattices, analogous to the Coulomb blockade observed in mesoscopic solid state systems. When the lattice sites are converted into biased double wells, we detect a discrete set of steps in the well population for increasing bias potentials. These correspond to tunneling resonances where the atom number on each side of the barrier changes one by one. This allows us to count and control the number of atoms within a given well. By evaluating the amplitude of the different plateaus, we can fully determine the number distribution of the atoms in the lattice, which we demonstrate for the case of a superfluid and Mott insulating regime of 87Rb.  相似文献

The synthesis of several highly phenylated PPV derivatives by a chlorine precursor route (CPR) was investigated in order to understand its scope. Three 1,4-bis(chloromethyl)benzene monomers were prepared via a robust and versatile synthetic procedure involving the Diels-Alder reaction. The monomers were then polymerized to the corresponding precursor polymers with about 1.0 equivalent of potassium t-butoxide in THF. Only one monomer gave a soluble precursor polymer while the other two gave insoluble precursor polymers. The soluble precursor polymer was deposited as thin films and then converted to the corresponding PPV derivative, which showed green photoluminesence and electroluminesence.  相似文献

Phosphagallenes ( 1 a / 1 b ) featuring double bonds between phosphorus and gallium were synthesized by reaction of (phosphanyl)phosphaketenes with the gallium carbenoid Ga(Nacnac) (Nacnac=HC[C(Me)N(2,6-i-Pr2C6H3)]2). The stability of these species is dependent on the saturation of the phosphanyl moiety. 1 a , which bears an unsaturated phosphanyl ring, rearranges in solution to yield a spirocyclic compound ( 2 ) which contains a P=P bond. The saturated variant 1 b is stable even at elevated temperatures. 1 b behaves as a frustrated Lewis pair capable of activation of H2 and forms a 1:1 adduct with CO2.  相似文献

We demonstrated traveling-wave atom-cavity interaction in the single-atom microlaser by tilting the atomic beam from its usual orientation of normal incidence with respect to the cavity mode. Laser-tuning curves, measured for various excitation pulse areas, are in good agreement with one-atom microlaser-maser theory.  相似文献
