New Lignans from the Aerial Parts of Rudbeckia laciniata

Three new furofuran lignans, (+)‐4,4′‐O‐diangeloylpinoresinol ( 1 ), (+)‐4,4′‐O‐diangeloylmedioresinol ( 2 ), and (+)‐4,4′‐O‐diangeloylsyringaresinol ( 3 ), together with the known compound (+)‐syringaresinol, were isolated from the MeOH extract of Rudbeckia laciniata. The structure elucidation of these compounds were based on 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR, and HR‐ESI‐MS data. The additional structural evidence was obtained from alkaline hydrolysis of the compounds.     

Palladium(II)‐Catalyzed Synthesis of Isoxazolidines: Using a Catalytic Copper Acetate and Molecular Oxygen as the Cooxidant

An environmentally friendly process is reported for the palladium(II)‐catalyzed cyclofunctionalization of allylic hydroxylamine derivatives using a catalytic amount of copper(II) acetate and molecular oxygen as the cooxidant.     

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Novel Isonucleosides with 1,2,4‐Triazole‐3‐Carboxamide

Novel 1,2,4‐triazole isonucleosides (1 and 2) were efficiently synthesized starting from D‐ribose and D‐xylose, respectively. The key steps were condensation of cyclic sulfate 8 with methyl‐1,2,4‐triazole‐3‐carboxylate and nucleophilic displacement of the tosylate 15 with methyl‐1,2,4‐triazole‐3‐carboxylate, respectively.     

Preparation of 5-Alkenyl- and 5-Dienyl-2-pyrrolidinone Derivatives

Glutamic acid is readily converted into N-butenyl-2-pyrrolidi-none-5-carboxaldehyde. The novel butenyl protecting group allows the synthesis of this aldehyde which can be olefinated using standard Wittig methodology.     

Mild and Efficient Deoxygenation of Sulfoxides with a WCl6/Indium System

Dialkyl, diaryl, and aryl alkyl sulfoxides can be rapidly converted to the corresponding sulfides with a WCl₆/In system in excellent yields under mild conditions.     

Designed Synthesis of Well‐Defined Pd@Pt Core–Shell Nanoparticles with Controlled Shell Thickness as Efficient Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalysts

Improving the electrocatalytic activity and durability of Pt‐based catalysts with low Pt content toward the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is one of the main challenges in advancing the performance of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Herein, a designed synthesis of well‐defined Pd@Pt core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) with a controlled Pt shell thickness of 0.4–1.2 nm by a facile wet chemical method and their electrocatalytic performances for ORR as a function of shell thickness are reported. Pd@Pt NPs with predetermined structural parameters were prepared by in situ heteroepitaxial growth of Pt on as‐synthesized 6 nm Pd NPs without any sacrificial layers and intermediate workup processes, and thus the synthetic procedure for the production of Pd@Pt NPs with well‐defined sizes and shell thicknesses is greatly simplified. The Pt shell thickness could be precisely controlled by adjusting the molar ratio of Pt to Pd. The ORR performance of the Pd@Pt NPs strongly depended on the thickness of their Pt shells. The Pd@Pt NPs with 0.94 nm Pt shells exhibited enhanced specific activity and higher durability compared to other Pd@Pt NPs and commercial Pt/C catalysts. Testing Pd@Pt NPs with 0.94 nm Pt shells in a membrane electrode assembly revealed a single‐cell performance comparable with that of the Pt/C catalyst despite their lower Pt content, that is the present NP catalysts can facilitate low‐cost and high‐efficient applications of PEMFCs.     

沉淀剂对悬浮共沉淀法制备二甲醚催化剂的影响

以无水乙醇为溶剂,将Cu、Zn和Al的硝酸盐并流共沉淀在HZSM-5分子筛的悬浮溶液中,一步合成CuO-ZnO-Al2O3/HZSM-5双功能催化剂.研究了沉淀剂的种类、加入顺序和加入量对催化剂活性的影响.结果表明,以适量的草酸作沉淀剂,采用悬浮液并流共沉淀法制备的双功能催化剂,对CO2加氢直接合成二甲醚有较高的催化性能:在固定床反应器中,温度为270℃,压力为3.0 MPa,空速为4 800 h-1的反应条件下,CO2的单程转化率达到28.7%,二甲醚的选择性达到53.2%.BET、XRD、TPR、TPD和N2O滴定等对催化剂结构表征结果表明,双功能复合催化剂CuO-ZnO-Al2O3/HZSM-5的结构影响CO2加氢合成二甲醚的催化性能.     

Synthesis,X‐ray Studies,and Catalytic Efficacy of a Novel Iron Complex Containing an N,O‐Type Bidentate Thiazoline Ligand

The reactions of FeCl₃ · 6H₂O and 2‐(2′‐hydroxyphenyl)‐2‐thiazoline as a bidentate O‐N donor thiazoline ligand (thoz) afford a five‐coordinate Fe^III complex [Fe(thoz)₂Cl] with a distorted square pyramidal configuration. Complex [Fe(thoz)₂Cl] was isolated as air‐stable crystalline solids and fully characterized, including by single‐crystal X‐ray structure analysis. Complex [Fe(thoz)₂Cl] shows very efficient reactivity in the oxidation of sulfides to their corresponding sulfoxides using urea hydrogen peroxide (UHP) as the oxidant at room temperature in air.     

Topography and field effects in the inner side of microvia hole using ToF‐SIMS

We have developed a simple and powerful method, which is called ‘angled sample holder method’, to characterize a topographic structured sample such as microsized via hole of ball grid array using time‐of‐flight SIMS. The diameter of via holes was 100 µm and the depth was 70 µm. To remove the shaded area by incidence primary ion beam and to extract secondary ions from the bottom of a via hole, several types of angled sample holders with compensation steering plate were applied on the basis of simulation results using SIMION code. And the analyses using angled sample holder method enabled us to characterize the bottom and side wall of a via hole in clear. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
