This paper introduces an exact algorithm for the construction of a shortest curvature-constrained network interconnecting a given set of directed points in the plane and a gradient descent method for doing so in 3D space. Such a network will be referred to as a minimum Dubins tree, since its edges are Dubins paths (or slight variants thereof). The problem of constructing a minimum Dubins tree appears in the context of underground mining optimisation, where the objective is to construct a least-cost network of tunnels navigable by trucks with a minimum turning radius. The Dubins tree problem is similar to the Steiner tree problem, except the terminals are directed and there is a curvature constraint. We propose the minimum curvature-constrained Steiner point algorithm for determining the optimal location of the Steiner point in a 3-terminal network. We show that when two terminals are fixed and the third varied in the planar version of the problem, the Steiner point traces out a limaçon.  相似文献

While flavor symmetries are useful for studying hadronic B   decays, symmetry relations for amplitudes and decay rates are usually violated by first order symmetry breaking corrections. We point out two cases in which first order symmetry breaking is suppressed by a small ratio of amplitudes: (1) An isospin sum rule for four B→KπBKπ decays, where isospin breaking is shown to be negligible. (2) An SU(3)SU(3) sum rule for pairs of B→KπBKπ and B→Kη8BKη8, generalized to pairs of B→KπBKπ, B→KηBKη and B→KηBKη.  相似文献

A model that combines an inventory and location decision is presented, analyzed and solved. In particular, we consider a single distribution center location that serves a finite number of sales outlets for a perishable product. The total cost to be minimized, consists of the transportation costs from the distribution center to the sales outlets as well as the inventory related costs at the sales outlets. The location of the distribution center affects the inventory policy. Very efficient solution approaches for the location problem in a planar environment are developed. Computational experiments demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed solution approaches.  相似文献

Dead Sea climatotherapy (DSC) is a well‐established therapeutic modality for the treatment of several diseases, including atopic dermatitis. Skin microbiome studies have shown that skin microbiome diversity is anticorrelated with both atopic dermatitis severity and concurrent Staphylococcus aureus overgrowth. This study aimed to determine whether DSC induces skin microbiome changes concurrent with clinical improvements in atopic dermatitis. We sampled 35 atopic dermatitis patients and ten healthy controls on both the antecubital and popliteal fossa. High‐resolution microbial community profiling was attained by sequencing multiple regions of the 16S rRNA gene. Dysbiosis was observed in both lesional and nonlesional sites, which was partially attenuated following treatment. Severe AD skin underwent the most significant community shifts, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus mitis and Micrococcus luteus relative abundance were significantly affected by Dead Sea climatotherapy. Our study highlights the temporal shifts of the AD skin microbiome induced by Dead Sea climatotherapy and offers potential explanations for the success of climatotherapy on a variety of skin diseases, including AD.  相似文献

Functional MR (fMR) imaging techniques based on blood oxygenation level dependent (BOLD) effects were developed and applied to a rat brain tumor model to evaluate the potential utility of the method for characterizing tumor growth and regression following treatment. Rats bearing 9L brain tumors in situ were imaged during inhalation of room air and after administration of 100% oxygen + acetazolamide (ACZ) injected 15 mg/kg intravenously. Pixel-to-pixel fMR maps of normalized signal intensity change from baseline values were calculated from T2 weighted spin echo (SE) images acquired pre- and post- oxygen + ACZ administration. Resultant fMR maps were then compared to gross histological sections obtained from corresponding anatomical regions. Regions containing viable tumor with increased cellular density and localized foci of necrotic tumor cells consistent with hypoxia were visualized in the fMR images as regions with decreased signal intensities, indicating diminished oxyhemoglobin concentration and blood flow as compared to normal brain. Histological regions having peritumor edema, caused by increased permeability of tumor vasculature, were visualized in the fMR images as areas with markedly increased signal intensities. These results suggest that fMR imaging techniques could be further developed for use as a non-invasive tool to assess changes in tumor oxygenation/hemodynamics, and to evaluate the pharmacologic effect of anti-neoplastic drugs.  相似文献

A novel multiplexing technique for fiber optic communications has been developed that supports multiple channels of optical energy inside an optical fiber by confining each individual channel to a unique spatial location. These channels can operate at exactly the same wavelength as well as differing wavelengths. The basic operating principle and experimental results for spatial domain multiplexed fiber optic communication systems is presented here. This technique adds a new dimension to currently available multiplexing schemes and has the potential to increase the bandwidth of existing and futuristic optical fiber systems by multiple folds.  相似文献

A search for a sidereal modulation in the MINOS near detector neutrino data was performed. If present, this signature could be a consequence of Lorentz and CPT violation as predicted by the effective field theory called the standard-model extension. No evidence for a sidereal signal in the data set was found, implying that there is no significant change in neutrino propagation that depends on the direction of the neutrino beam in a sun-centered inertial frame. Upper limits on the magnitudes of the Lorentz and CPT violating terms in the standard-model extension lie between 10(-4) and 10(-2) of the maximum expected, assuming a suppression of these signatures by a factor of 10(-17).  相似文献

Dipole antennas designed for operation at 10 m wavelength have been fabricated by optical lithography and their properties measured by detection of CO2 laser radiation in integrated thin-film bolometers. We find a remarkably strong increase in cross-polarized signal as the antenna linewidth is increased. The measured beam pattern is a saddle point at broadside (local minimum in the H-plane, local maximum in the E-plane) as predicted by standard method-of-moments theory.  相似文献
