Some results concerning approximation of regularized compressible flow

We summarize here some theoretical results for fictitious gas regularization of compressible flow and give error estimates for the finite element approximation to the regularized problem.     

Ab initio materials design for transparent-conducting-oxide-based new-functional materials

Based upon ab initio electronic structure calculations for delafossite CuAlO₂ and ZnO, we report on the design of new-functional materials for transparent conducting oxides (TCO), such as (i) low-resistive p-type ZnO and CuAlO₂ by co-doping, (ii) high-efficiency thermoelectric power in CuAlO₂ (ZT>3) by p-type doping, (iii) half-metallic ferromagnetism in transition-metal-impurity doped CuAlO₂ and ZnO-based diluted magnetic semiconductors, and (iv) CaO, MgO, SrO and BaO based DMS without transition metal impurities. Existence of solutions in variational relation problems without convexity

Two main existence conditions for solutions of variational relation problems are established without convexity. The first one is based on a finite solvability property and the second one on generalized KKM mappings. These conditions unify and strengthen several existing results in the literature on the topic. A model of satisficing process by rejection is considered which gives an economic interpretation of the introduced concepts.     

Equidistribution for meromorphic transforms and the dd<Superscript>c</Superscript>-method

In this paper we give an introduction to the notion of meromorphic transform. We describe some equidistribution problems and their solution, using the dd^c-method. In particular, we give some statistical properties of the equilibrium measure for meromorphic maps on compact Kähler manifolds: K-mixing, exponential decay of correlations and central limit theorem.     

Fast and continuous isolation of short-lived mercury isotopes from diluted sulphuric acid solution

The seconds living mercury isotopes have been isolated from nuclear reaction products arising in the bombardment of ¹⁴⁷Sm target with ⁴⁰Ar ions at the U-400 cyclotron of JINR-Dubna.

Three theorems of the alternative for abstract linear inequality systems which depend on random parameter are produced in infinite dimensions.     

Self-interaction correction in a simple model

We discuss various ways to handle self-interaction corrections (SIC) to Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations. To that end, we use a simple model of few particles in a finite number of states together with a simple zero-range interaction for which full Hartree-Fock can easily be computed as a benchmark. The model allows to shed some light on the balance between orthonormality of the involved states and energy variance.
