In this paper five equations of state are tested for checking their ability to predict the Joule-Thomson inversion curve.These five equations of state are:Mohsennia-Modarres-Mansoori(MMM),Ji-Lemp(JL),modified Soave-Redlich-Kwang(SRK)equation of state by Graboski(MSRK1),modified SRK equation of state by Peneloux and Rauzy(MSRK2),and modified Peng-Robinson (PR)equation of state by Rauzy(PRmr).The investigated equations of state give good prediction of the low-temperature branch of the inversion curve,except for MMM equation of state.The high-temperature branch and the peak of the inversion curve have been observed,in general,to be sensitive to the applied equation of state.The values of the maximum inversion temperature and maximum inversion pressure are calculated for each component used in this work.  相似文献

The synthetic mineral Co(II)5(OH)6(SO4)2(H2O)4 (1), obtained by hydrothermal reaction of CoSO4.7H2O and NaOH at 165 degrees C and consisting of brucite-like Co4(OH)6O2 layers pillared by OSO3-Co(H2O)4-O3SO, is a ferromagnet (T(Curie)= 12 K, Hc= 580 Oe).  相似文献

[Mn(3)(OH)(2)(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)] and its deuterated analogue were synthesized by a hydrothermal technique and characterized by differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and IR spectroscopy. Its nuclear structure, determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis and Rietveld analysis of neutron powder-diffraction data, consists of a 3D network of chains of edge-sharing Mn(1)O(6), running along the c axis, connected by the apices of Mn(2)O(6) and SO(4) units. It is isostructural to the nickel analogue. Determination of the magnetic structure and measurements of magnetization and heat capacity indicate the coexistence of both magnetic long-range ordering (LRO) and short-range ordering (SRO) below a Néel temperature of 26 K, while the SRO is retained at higher temperatures. The moments of the two independent Mn atoms lie in the bc plane, and that of Mn(1) rotates continuously by 54 degrees towards the c axis on decreasing the temperature from 25 to 1.4 K. While the SRO may be associated with frustration of the moments within a Mn(3) trimer, the LRO is achieved by antiparallel alignment of the four symmetry-related trimers within the magnetic unit cell. A spin-flop field, measured by dc and ac magnetization on a SQUID, is observed at 15 kOe.  相似文献

Abstract

Separation of amino acids (AAs) and their simple and inexpensive determination/identification is an interesting topic in biological and protein science, different food industries, and drug factories. Also, the presentation of the chromatographic behavior of compounds in a predictive model can be effective to estimate the structural/chemical properties of analyte and mobile phases. In this work for the first time, retardation factor (RF) of 42 AAs in reversed-phase thin layer chromatography (RP-TLC) was modeled. Acetonitrile-sodium azide solution and 1,2 dioxane-sodium azide solution were two mobile phases which have been studied in this work. Results showed that the values of RF are correlated with the structural properties of AAs and these properties had some similarities and differences in two noted mobile phases. For the TLC data in two mobile phases, five parametric linear models were suggested (R2train = 0.93 and 0.97; R2test = 0.93 and 0.99). The models were also evaluated with different statistical approaches. It was shown that increasing the sum of geometrical distances between N and O in AAs causes decreasing their RF in RP-TLC using both mobile phases. Other structural effects of AAs on their separation in the desired RP-TLC system were also discussed.  相似文献

The crystal structures of the tetrahedral cluster compounds GaNb(4)S(8) and GaTa(4)Se(8) were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. They crystallize in the cubic GaMo(4)S(8) structure type (F3m), which can be derived from the spinel type by shifting the metal atoms off the centers of the chalcogen octahedra along [111]. Electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the electronic conduction originates from hopping of localized unpaired electrons (S = (1)/(2)) among widely separated Nb(4) or Ta(4) clusters, and thus these materials represent a new class of Mott insulators. Under high pressure we find that GaNb(4)S(8) undergoes a transition from the Mott insulating to a superconducting state with T(C) up to 4 K at 23 GPa, similar to GaNb(4)Se(8) and GaTa(4)Se(8). High-pressure single-crystal X-ray studies of GaTa(4)Se(8) reveal that the superconducting transition is connected with a gradual decrease of the octahedral distortion with increasing pressure. DFT band structure calculations show that weakly coupled cluster orbitals are responsible for a high density of states at the Fermi level. The correct insulating magnetic ground state for GaNb(4)S(8) with mu(eff) = 1.73 mu(B) is for the first time achieved by the LDA+U method using U = 6 eV and rhombohedral symmetry.  相似文献

Epoxy-timber composites have received increasing attention during the last decades because there are many advantages related to their uses as construction materials in applications such as timber bridges. However, the durability of epoxy-timber composites under outdoor conditions has become a concern for many epoxy resins. This study evaluated the chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties of two cured epoxies, the product of the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A with 2,4-trimethyl-1,6-hexanediamine (DGEBA-TMDA) and the analogous resin prepared with the hydrogenated diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (HDGEBA-TMDA), each mixed with 2?wt. % calcium sulfate (CS). We hypothesized that the use of CS, as an inorganic UV absorber, could decrease undesirable effects arising from exposure to UV light, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

An accelerated aging chamber simulated natural weathering for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6?months. Chemical changes in cured epoxy systems over time in the presence and absence of CS fillers were determined using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Thermal degradation profiles before and after exposure to accelerated weathering were followed by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The glass transition temperatures (Tg) before and after accelerated weathering were measured, and the effect of accelerated weathering on the surface morphology of the epoxy systems was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In the presence of CS, after 6?months accelerated weathering the tensile strength of DGEBA-TMDA reduced by 23.8?±?2.4%, compared to 46.5?±?5.5% in its absence, while the corresponding values for HDGEBA-TMDA were 21.4?±?2.1% and 28.7?±?1.8%.  相似文献

A comparative study was performed on thermal stability of mesophilic and thermophilic α-amylases, and the effects of various denaturing agents, organic solvents, and stabilizers were investigated. As expected, the thermophilic enzyme showed higher resistance toward denaturation in water as its natural medium, but such a difference could not be detected in nonaqueous environments. Furthermore, stability of these molecules was improved by including various stabilizing agents. Of the compounds tested, sorbitol provided the highest degree of protection, which was found to be owing to its effect on increasing T m and its ability in totally preventing deamidation of amino acid residues in the protein molecules.  相似文献

Submitochondrial particles (SMPs) prepared from beef liver mitochondria were immobilized on concanavalin A Sepharose-4B (Con A Sepharose). The process of immobilization was optimized by choosing an appropriate buffer system containing Mn2+ and Ca2+. Adsorption of SMPs on Con A-Sepharose was found to be a reversible process, nonelectrostatic in nature, and responsive to the presence of methyl α-d-glucopyranose and α-d-mannose. The involvement of membrane glycoproteins in the adsorption process was thus demonstrated. Further analysis of the data obtained on competition of binding by sugar molecules provided competition constants reflecting the potency of inhibition by each individual carbohydrate. Positive-cooperative interactions for binding to the matrix were observed especially at high concentrations of SMPs. The immobilized preparations were used successfully in continuous catalytic transformations involving succinate-cytochrome c reductase (SCR) an enzyme complex of the inner-mitochondrial membrane. Best results were obtained when such operations were carried out at 37?C.  相似文献

Because of the growing importance of pH‐sensitive hydrogels as drug delivery systems, biocompatible copolymeric hydrogels based N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NVP) and methacrylic acid (MAA) were designed and synthesized. These hydrogels were investigated for oral drug delivery. Radical copolymerizations of N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NVP) and methacrylic acid (MAA) with the various ratios of cross‐linking agent were carried out at 70 °C. Azabisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) was the free‐radical initiator employed and Cubane‐1,4‐dicarboxylic acid (CDA) linked to two 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) group was the crosslinking agent (CA) used for hydrogel preparations. The hydrogels were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry and FT‐IR. Equilibrium swelling studies were carried out in enzyme‐free simulated gastric and intestinal fluids (SGF and SIF, respectively). A model drug, olsalazine [3,3′‐azobis (6‐hydroxy benzoic acid)] (OSZ) as an azo derivative of 5‐aminosalicylic acid (5‐ASA), was entrapped in these gels and the in‐vitro release profiles were established separately in both enzyme‐free SGF and SIF. The drug‐release profiles indicated that the amount of drug released depended on the degree of swelling. The swelling was modulated by the amount of crosslinking of the polymer bonded drug (PBDs) prepared. Based on the great difference in hydrolysis rates at pH 1 and 7.4, these pH‐sensitive hydrogels appear to be good candidates for colon‐specific drug delivery.  相似文献

A new and direct approach to verify surface heterogeneity as the microscopic origin of contact-angle hysteresis is demonstrated. IR-visible sum-frequency-generation spectroscopy (SFG) was used to selectively probe the molecules at the interface of an alkyl-side-chain polymer [poly(vinyl n-octadecyl carbamate-co-vinyl acetate)] with water. The spectra indicate that in contact with water, the polymer surface is heterogeneous (having areas of differing surface energies). This evidence of surface heterogeneity supports the hysteresis observed in the advancing and receding contact angles of the polymer surface with water. The same measurements made for the chemically and structurally similar surface of an octadecyltrichlorosilane self-assembled monolayer indicates a homogeneous surface at the water interface. In this case, contact-angle hysteresis measurements implicate surface roughness as the cause of hysteresis. Atomic force microscopy measurements of roughness for these surfaces further support our conclusions. The polymer-water interface was probed using SFG at above-ambient temperatures, and an order-to-disorder transition (ODT) of alkyl side chains at the interface was observed, which closely follows the melting of crystalline side chains in the bulk. This transition explains the increased wettability of the polymer, by water, when the temperature is raised above the bulk melting temperature. Furthermore, the irreversibility of this ODT suggests that the disordered polymer-water interface is the thermodynamic equilibrium state, whereas the before-heating structure of this interface is a kinetically hindered metastable state.  相似文献
