One of the simplest viable models for dark matter is an additional neutral scalar, stabilised by a \(\mathbb {Z}_2\) symmetry. Using the GAMBIT package and combining results from four independent samplers, we present Bayesian and frequentist global fits of this model. We vary the singlet mass and coupling along with 13 nuisance parameters, including nuclear uncertainties relevant for direct detection, the local dark matter density, and selected quark masses and couplings. We include the dark matter relic density measured by Planck, direct searches with LUX, PandaX, SuperCDMS and XENON100, limits on invisible Higgs decays from the Large Hadron Collider, searches for high-energy neutrinos from dark matter annihilation in the Sun with IceCube, and searches for gamma rays from annihilation in dwarf galaxies with the Fermi-LAT. Viable solutions remain at couplings of order unity, for singlet masses between the Higgs mass and about 300 GeV, and at masses above \(\sim \)1 TeV. Only in the latter case can the scalar singlet constitute all of dark matter. Frequentist analysis shows that the low-mass resonance region, where the singlet is about half the mass of the Higgs, can also account for all of dark matter, and remains viable. However, Bayesian considerations show this region to be rather fine-tuned.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] A practical synthesis for the large-scale production of the new carbapenem antibiotic, [4R,5S,6S]-3-[[(3S,5S)-5-[[(3-Carboxyphenyl)amino]carbonyl]-3-pyrrolidinyl]thio]-6-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-4-methyl-7-oxo-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid monosodium salt (ertapenem sodium, 1), has been developed. The synthesis features the novel use of 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine as base for the low-temperature reaction of a thiol, derived from trans-4-hydroxy-L-proline, with the carbapenem nucleus activated as the enol phosphate. Hydrogenolysis of a p-nitrobenzyl ester is effected using a palladium on carbon catalyst to give an overall yield for the two steps of 90%. The use of bicarbonate in the hydrogenolysis was key in providing protection of the pyrrolidine amine as the sodium carbamate improving both the performance of the reaction and the stability of the product. This discovery made processing at manufacturing scale possible. Experimental evidence for the formation of the sodium carbamate is provided. A remarkably expedient process for the simultaneous purification and concentration of the aqueous product stream relies on ion-pairing extraction for the removal of the water-soluble 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine. Crystallization then affords 59-64% overall yield of the monosodium salt form of the product.  相似文献

By setting the quadratic divergences to zero, four mass relations are obtained for the Standard Model generalized to two Higgs doublets. These four mass relations are obtained most simply in terms of the original fields in the Lagrangian, before spontaneousSU(2)×U(1) symmetry breaking is applied. Femtosecond pump-probe second-harmonic generation (SHG) and transient linear reflectivity measurements were carried out on polycrystalline Cu, Ag and An in air to analyze whether the electron temperature affects Fresnel factors or nonlinear susceptibilities, or both. Sensitivity to electron temperatures was attained by using photon energies near the interband transition threshold. We find that the nonlinear susceptibility carries the electron temperature dependence in case of Ag and Au, while for Cu the dependence is in the Fresnel factors. This contrasting behavior emphasizes that SHG is nota priori sensitive to electron dynamics at surfaces or interfaces, notwithstanding its cause.  相似文献

We consider inner metric spaces of curvature bounded below in the sense of Wald, without assuming local compactness or existence of minimal curves. We first extend the Hopf-Rinow theorem by proving existence, uniqueness, and “almost extendability” of minimal curves from any point to a denseG δ subset. An immediate consequence is that Alexandrov’s comparisons are meaningful in this setting. We then prove Toponogov’s theorem in this generality, and a rigidity theorem which characterizes spheres. Finally, we use our characterization to show the existence of spheres in the space of directions at points in a denseG δ set. This allows us to define a notion of “local dimension” of the space using the dimension of such spheres. If the local dimension is finite, the space is an Alexandrov space.  相似文献

The NuTeV experiment at Fermilab has used a sign-selected neutrino beam to perform a search for the lepton number violating process nu(mu)e(-)-->mu(-)nu(e), and to measure the cross section of the standard model inverse muon decay process nu(mu)e(-)-->mu(-)nu(e). NuTeV measures the inverse muon decay asymptotic cross-section slope sigma/E to be (13.8 +/- 1.2 +/- 1.4) x 10(-42) cm(2)/GeV. The experiment also observes no evidence for lepton number violation and places one of the most restrictive limits on the cross-section ratio sigma(nu(mu)e(-)-->mu(-)nu(e))/sigma(nu(mu)e(-)-->mu(-)nu(e)) < or = 1.7% at 90% C.L. for V-A couplings and < or = 0.6% for scalar couplings.  相似文献

Electron spectra of various metastable rare gas atoms systematically measured on a Pt(111) surface with Rb coverages ranging from submonolayers (3%) to multilayers are presented. The different decay channels of the excited particles are discussed in terms of resonant electron exchange processes between the substrate and the projectile in relation to the work function. It is shown that below a certain value of the work function a highly excited negative rare gas atom is formed which can undergo different de-excitation processes. A careful discussion of the branching ratios into the decay channels offers a natural explanation of the variations in the electron spectra induced by alkali metal adsorption. Additionally, an attempt is made to extract information about the alkali metal chemisorption state from the observed electron spectra.  相似文献
