Mathematical conditions are proposed for each subspace Xλ to define a map gXλ:XλX which has the following property specific to the tent map known in the baker’s transformation. Namely, for any infinite sequence ω0ω1ω2, … of Xλ, λ  Λ, we can find an initial point x0  ω0 such that gω0(x0)ω1,gω1(gω0(x0))ω2,…. Self‐organization plays an imperative role in recent materials science. Highly tunable, periodic structures based on dynamic self‐organization at micrometer scales have proven difficult to design, but are desired for the further development of micropatterning. In the present study, we report a microgroove array that spontaneously forms on a p‐type silicon surface during its electrodissolution. Our detailed experimental results suggest that the instability can be classified as Turing instability. The characteristic scale of the Turing‐type pattern is small compared to self‐organized patterns caused by the Turing instabilities reported so far. The mechanism for the miniaturization of self‐organized patterns is strongly related to the semiconducting property of silicon electrodes as well as the dynamics of their surface chemistry.  相似文献

The coordination polymerization of silyl‐protected ω‐alkenols such as ω‐alken‐α‐oxytriisopropylsilanes 1 provides poly(ω‐alkenyl‐α‐oxytriisopropylsilalne)s with a highly isospecific microstructure ([mmmm] > 95%) when a combination of [OSSO]‐type bis(phenolato) dichloro zirconium(IV) complex 2 and dried methylaluminoxane is used as the precatalyst and activator, respectively. The resulting siloxy‐substituted polymers could be efficiently transformed into the corresponding functionalized polyolefins, which contained up to 90% acetyl groups and ≈7% hydroxy groups in the terminal side chains.

Atmospheric pressure waves are a notable phenomenon associated with explosive volcanic eruptions. They can provide us with information about eruption processes that are useful both scientifically and practically. In this paper, we give a brief review of studies that have been carried out on this phenomenon in the field of volcanology. Then, we introduce a prototype tool called ‘MOVE’ (Mobile Observatory for Volcanic Explosions). It is a remote-controlled vehicle carrying various instruments to observe pressure waves and the eruption processes. Inhibitors of α-amylase have attracted attention for their putative effects against diabetes mellitus. Although numerous studies have explored natural small molecule inhibitors, acarbose is currently the only compound with sufficient inhibitory potency and drug-like characteristics to be considered as a potential therapeutic agent. We have synthesized conjugates of the potent glucosidase inhibitor, 1-deoxynojirimycin, and glucose, with the aim of enhancing inhibitory activity against α-amylase. This synthetic conjugate showed increased inhibition of α-amylase compared to 1-deoxynojirimycin alone, suggesting that similar modifications of existing glucosidase inhibitors may yield more potent α-amylase inhibitors.  相似文献

PIPAAm-brush grafted glass substrates with various graft densities and chain lengths were prepared via surface-initiated ATRP. Temperature-dependent physicochemical properties of the surfaces were characterized by means of ATR/FT-IR spectroscopy, XPS, AFM, and contact angle measurements. ATRP conditions influence the amount of grafted PIPAAm and the surface wettability and roughness of the substrate. Fibronectin adsorption and EC adhesion increased with decreasing density of PIPAAm brushes. EC adhesion was diminished with increasing PIPAAm graft length. Thus, the preparation of PIPAAm brush surface with various graft densities and chain lengths using the surface-initiated ATRP is an effective method for modulating thermo-responsive properties of surfaces.  相似文献

A Rh-doped SrTiO(3) (SrTiO(3):Rh) photocatalyst electrode that was readily prepared by pasting SrTiO(3):Rh powder onto a transparent indium tin oxide electrode gave a cathodic photocurrent under visible-light irradiation (λ > 420 nm), indicating that the SrTiO(3):Rh photocatalyst electrode possessed p-type semiconductor character. The cathodic photocurrent increased with an increase in the amount of doped Rh up to 7 atom %. The incident-photon-to-current efficiency at 420 nm was 0.18% under an applied potential of -0.7 V vs Ag/AgCl for the SrTiO(3):Rh(7 atom %) photocatalyst electrode. The photocurrent was confirmed to be due to water splitting by analyzing the evolved H(2) and O(2). The water splitting proceeded with the application of an external bias smaller than 1.23 V versus a Pt counter electrode under visible-light irradiation and also using a solar simulator, suggesting that solar energy conversion should be possible with the present photoelectrochemical water splitting.  相似文献

2,3-Diphenylpropionic acid library for VLA-4 antagonist was synthesized on solid-phase. Comparison of the two synthetic routes via an orthogonal generation of two aromatic amino functional groups are discussed. From this work, several compounds were identified as potent VLA-4 antagonists.  相似文献
