A two-dimensional dynamic fouling model for milk fouling in a plate heat exchanger (PHE) is proposed. Emphasis is placed on fouling prediction based on the hydrodynamic and thermodynamic performances of the PHE. A 12-channel PHE with counter-current flows is used in quantification of the milk deposition developed inside the channels. The aggregation rate of unfolded protein is found to increase exponentially with increasing wall temperature and is accompanied by a substantial reduction in the heat-transfer coefficient.  相似文献

The 4,4 dimethyl amino cyano biphenyl crystal(DMACB) is characterized by its nonlinear activity. The intra molecular charge transfer of this molecule results mainly from the electronic transmission of the electro-acceptor(cyano) and electro-donor(di-methyl-amino) groups. An accurate electron density distribution around the molecule has been calculated based on a high-resolution X-ray diffraction study. The data were collected at 123 K using graphite-monochromated Mo Kα radiation to sin(θ)/λ = 1.24 A 1. The integrated intensities of 13796 reflections were measured and reduced to 6501 independent reflections with I ≥ 3σ(I). The crystal structure was refined using the experimental model of Hansen and Coppens(1978). The crystal structure has been validated and deposited at the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre with the deposition number CCDC 876507. In this article, we present the thermal motion and the structural analysis obtained from the least-square refinement based on F2 and the electron density distribution obtained from the multipolar model.  相似文献

This Note presents the derivation of the 2nd-order asymptotic expansion of the eigenvalues and the eigenfunctions of the operator associated to an interior elliptic equation supplemented by a Dirichlet boundary condition on a domain consisting of two cavities linked by a hole of small size. The asymptotic expansion is carried out with respect to the size of the hole. The main feature of the method is to yield a robust numerical procedure making it possible to compute the eigenvalues without resorting to a refined mesh around the hole. To cite this article: A. Macroscale three-dimensional modeling of fluid flow in a thin porous layer under unsaturated conditions is a challenging task. One major issue is that such layers do not satisfy the representative elementary volume length-scale requirement. Recently, a new approach, called reduced continua model (RCM), has been developed to describe multiphase fluid flow in a stack of thin porous layers. In that approach, flow equations are formulated in terms of thickness-averaged variables and properties. In this work, we have performed a set of experiments, where a wet \(260\hbox {-}\upmu \hbox {m}\)-thin porous layer was placed on top of a dry layer of the same material. We measured the change of average saturation with time using a single-sided low-field nuclear magnetic resonance device known as NMR-MOUSE. We have employed both RCM and the traditional Richards equation-based models to simulate our experimental results. We found that the traditional unsaturated flow model cannot simulate experimental results satisfactorily. Very close agreement was obtained by including the dynamic capillary term as postulated by Hassanizadeh and Gray in the traditional equations. The reduced continua model was found to be in good agreement with the experimental result without adding dynamic capillarity term. Moreover, the computational effort needed for RCM simulations was one order of magnitude less than that of traditional models.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that the states space of the Brownian snake and the states space of its tour are homeomorphic. We prove that the tour of the discrete snake (built on a geometrical Galton–Watson tree of size n) converges weakly to the tour of the Brownian snake. As a consequence, we obtain the weak convergence of the discrete snake to the Brownian snake. In a last part, we show the weak convergence of the geometrical width of the discrete snake to the one of the Brownian snake.  相似文献

Decanoic acid/expanded graphite composite phase change materials (DA/EG-PCMs) with high stability and excellent thermal conductivity were fabricated by blending expanded graphite (EG) and decanoic acid (DA). The structure, thermo-physical properties, and the formation mechanism of DA/EG-PCMs were investigated. The obtained results demonstrate that EG exhibits a network-like porous structure, which is superimposed of 10–50 μm thick graphite sheet. Therefore, DA can be effectively encapsulated through the binding between micropores and the surface adsorption of EG resulting in a relatively smaller DA/EG-PCMs particle with better dispersibility. In addition, adding EG into DA also increased both the thermal stability and the thermal conductivity while decreasing the charging and discharging time, which resulted in improved thermal efficiencies. Although adding EG can negatively influence the phase change behavior of DA, the temperature and enthalpy of phase change were still as high as 34.9 °C and 153.1 J g?1, respectively. Based on a combination of experimental results and a comprehensive analysis of the phase transformation kinetics, it is concluded that DA/EG-PCMs with 10 mass% EG with improved thermal properties can meet the requirements for efficient temperature control in low-to-medium environments.  相似文献

We propose an analytical and numerical study of the combined action of the thermodiffusion and the convection in a binary mixture. The combination of these two phenomena is called thermogravitational diffusion. We are interested in quantifying the separation in a horizontal parallelepipedic cavity filled with a binary mixture and subjected to a constant horizontal temperature gradient on the two horizontal walls, the other walls being thermally insulated and impermeable. This new procedure is different from the classical one where the cavity is vertical and differentially heated on the two vertical walls. To cite this article: B. Elhajjar et al., C. R.
