Asymptotic behavior of vortices in axisymmetric flow without swirl

We investigate the confinement properties of bounded, nonnegative, compactly supported vortices of axisymmetric incompressible Euler flows without swirl. We show that along one direction of the symmetry axis, its support can grow no faster than O[(t log t)^1/2]. The rate at which it approaches the symmetry axis is also estimated. Together with the result of Maffei–Marchioro on the radial growth rate of the support, it is contained in a slowly expanding tubular region. The techniques of the above‐mentioned authors, Iftimie–Lopes–Nussenzveig and Iftimie–Sideris–Gamblin, are used. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

New chiral ionic liquids based on imidazolinium salts

The preparation and application of a new series of chiral ionic liquids are described. The salts are based on imidazolinium cations. Some of the cations also incorporated an axial chirality at the C(2) position next to the central chirality. These cations display a very high rotational barrier along the arene–imidazolinium axis. Furthermore, an analogue with a chiral anion was prepared. The salts have low melting points. Their potential as solvents and as chiral shift reagents was explored, resulting for the first time in an example of a chiral ionic liquid as a shift reagent for a neutral compound.     

PPY催化合成乙酸沉香酯

利用吡啶与二氯亚砜反应 ,制成双吡啶盐 ,进而与四氢吡咯反应 ,一步法合成 4 ( 1 四氢吡咯 )吡啶(PPY)。利用PPY为催化剂进行沉香醇的酰化反应 ,并对影响反应的诸因素进行了讨论 ,醇的转化率为 99% ,酯的收率为 88.2 %。     

An X‐shaped π‐conjugated polymer comprising of fluorene units and anthracene units with high efficiency. Synthesis and optical and electrochemical properties

A new X‐shaped π‐conjugated monomer comprising of fluorene units and anthracene units was synthesized, and it was used to fabricate the new X‐shaped π‐conjugated polymers and investigate the properties of the new polymers. Using different molar ratios between such monomer and a fluorene monomer gave three polymers that showed higher absolute PL quantum yields than the linear polyfluorene (PF) in the solid state. After thermal annealing at 200 °C for 4 h, the linear PF showed an additional bathochromic emission at about 550 nm, whereas such red‐shifted emission was fully eliminated for the X‐shaped polymers. The electroluminescent devices based on the X‐shaped polymers with a configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/polymer/LiF/Ca/Al displayed blue emission with low turn‐on voltage and high brightness. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The steady Navier–Stokes/energy system with temperature‐dependent viscosity—Part 1: Analysis of the continuous problem

In this first part we propose and analyse a model for the study of two‐dimensional incompressible Navier–Stokes equations with a temperature‐dependent viscosity. The flow is supposed in a mixed convection regime and considers an outflow region, leading to a strongly coupled problem between the Navier–Stokes and energy equations, which will be justified theoretically. The coupling in the continuous problem is treated by an outer temperature fixed point strategy. Existence results for a particular variational formulation follows from this study. The Besov Space B^{{0,1}}_{1} on Domains

Let Ω be a bounded Lipschitz domain. Define B ^0,1 _{1, r} (Ω) = {f∈L ¹ (Ω): there is an F∈B ^0,1 ₁ (ℝ ⁿ ) such that F|_Ω = f} and B ^0,1 _{1 z} (Ω) = {f∈B ^0,1 ₁ (ℝ ⁿ ) : f = 0 on ℝ ⁿ \}. In this paper, the authors establish the atomic decompositions of these spaces. As by-products, the authors obtained the regularity on these spaces of the solutions to the Dirichlet problem and the Neumann problem of the Laplace equation of ℝ ⁿ ₊. C60基Ebselen衍生物：合成及尤其对鼠胸腺细胞增强保护效应

丙二酸酯衍生物2用2-氯硒基苯甲酰氯和2-(2-胺基乙氧基)乙醇为原料，经三步合成制得。2与C₆₀的Bingel环加成反应制得C₆₀基Ebselen衍生物3，产率为42% (基于已反应的C₆₀)，¹HNMR、¹³CNMR、IR、FAB-MS和元素分析鉴定了其结构。为了证实3对鼠胸腺细胞的活力具有增强效应，C₆₀衍生物4和2被选择，并采用与3相同的方法来处理鼠胸腺细胞，结果显示：3处理组的MTT(OD)值(0.335 ± 0.021)高于4处理组(MTT(OD): 0.283 ± 0.031)和2处理组(MTT(OD):0.247 ± 0.025)，表明3在促进鼠胸腺细胞活力方面优于2 和 4。
