First we prove the existence of a nontrivial smooth solution for a p-Laplacian equation with a (p − 1)-linear nonlinearity and a noncoercive Euler functional, under hypotheses including resonant problems with respect to the principal eigenvalue of (-DpW1,p0(Z)){(-{\it \Delta}_p,\,W^{1,p}_0(Z))} . Then, for the semilinear problem (i.e., p = 2), assuming nonuniform nonresonance at infinity and zero, we prove a multiplicity theorem which provides the existence of at least three nontrivial solutions, two being of opposite constant sign. Our approach combines minimax techniques with Morse theory and truncation arguments.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a semilinear Neumann problem with an indefinite linear part and a Carathéodory nonlinearity which is superlinear near infinity and near zero, but does not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Using an abstract existence theorem for C1-functions having a local linking at the origin, we establish the existence of at least one nontrivial smooth solution.  相似文献

The notion of “strong stability” has been introduced in a recent paper [12]. This notion is relevant for state-space models described by physical variables and prohibits overshooting trajectories in the state-space transient response for arbitrary initial conditions. Thus, “strong stability” is a stronger notion compared to alternative definitions (e.g. stability in the sense of Lyapunov or asymptotic stability). This paper defines two distance measures to strong stability under absolute (additive) and relative (multiplicative) matrix perturbations, formulated in terms of the spectral and the Frobenius norm. Both symmetric and non-symmetric perturbations are considered. Closed-form or algorithmic solutions to these distance problems are derived and interesting connections are established with various areas in matrix theory, such as the field of values of a matrix, the cone of positive semi-definite matrices and the Lyapunov cone of Hurwitz matrices. The results of the paper are illustrated by numerous computational examples.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear Dirichlet problem driven by the p-Laplace operator and with a right-hand side which has a singular term and a parametric superlinear perturbation. We are interested in positive solutions and prove a bifurcation-type theorem describing the changes in the set of positive solutions as the parameter λ>0 varies. In addition, we show that for every admissible parameter λ>0 the problem has a smallest positive solution uλ and we establish the monotonicity and continuity properties of the map λuλ.  相似文献

In this paper we study second order elliptic equations driven by the Laplacian and p-Laplacian differential operators and a nonlinearity which is (p-)superlinear (it satisfies the Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz condition). For the p-Laplacian equations we prove the existence of five nontrivial smooth solutions, namely two positive, two negative and a nodal solution. Finally we indicate how in the semilinear case, Morse theory can be used to produce six nontrivial solutions. In this paper we study eigenvalue problems for hemivariational inequalities driven by the -Laplacian differential operator. We prove the existence of positive smooth solutions for both non-resonant and resonant problems at the principal eigenvalue of the negative -Laplacian with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. We also examine problems which are near resonance both from the left and from the right of the principal eigenvalue. For nearly resonant from the right problems we also prove a multiplicity result.

A simple, sensitive and accurate analytical method was optimized and developed for the determination of deoxynivalenol and aflatoxins in cereals intended for human consumption using high‐performance liquid chromatography with diode array and fluorescence detection and a photochemical reactor for enhanced detection. A response surface methodology, using a fractional central composite design, was carried out for optimization of the water percentage at the beginning of the run (X1, 80–90%), the level of acetonitrile at the end of gradient system (X2, 10–20%) with the water percentage fixed at 60%, and the flow rate (X3, 0.8–1.2 mL/min). The studied responses were the chromatographic peak area, the resolution factor and the time of analysis. Optimal chromatographic conditions were: X1 = 80%, X2 = 10%, and X3 = 1 mL/min. Following a double sample extraction with water and a mixture of methanol/water, mycotoxins were rapidly purified by an optimized solid‐phase extraction protocol. The optimized method was further validated with respect to linearity (R2>0.9991), sensitivity, precision, and recovery (90–112%). The application to 23 commercial cereal samples from Greece showed contamination levels below the legally set limits, except for one maize sample. The main advantages of the developed method are the simplicity of operation and the low cost.  相似文献

We study the complexity of approximating the smallest eigenvalue of -Δ+q with Dirichlet boundary conditions on the d-dimensional unit cube. Here Δ is the Laplacian, and the function q is non-negative and has continuous first order partial derivatives. We consider deterministic and randomized classical algorithms, as well as quantum algorithms using quantum queries of two types: bit queries and power queries. We seek algorithms that solve the problem with accuracy . We exhibit lower and upper bounds for the problem complexity. The upper bounds follow from the cost of particular algorithms. The classical deterministic algorithm is optimal. Optimality is understood modulo constant factors that depend on d. The randomized algorithm uses an optimal number of function evaluations of q when d≤2. The classical algorithms have cost exponential in d since they need to solve an eigenvalue problem involving a matrix with size exponential in d. We show that the cost of quantum algorithms is not exponential in d, regardless of the type of queries they use. Power queries enjoy a clear advantage over bit queries and lead to an optimal complexity algorithm.  相似文献
