Formation of Long,Multicenter π‐[TCNE]22− Dimers in Solution: Solvation and Stability Assessed through Molecular Dynamics Simulations

Purely organic radical ions dimerize in solution at low temperature, forming long, multicenter bonds, despite the metastability of the isolated dimers. Here, we present the first computational study of these π‐dimers in solution, with explicit consideration of solvent molecules and finite temperature effects. By means of force‐field and ab initio molecular dynamics and free energy simulations, the structure and stability of π‐[TCNE]₂^2? (TCNE=tetracyanoethylene) dimers in dichloromethane have been evaluated. Although the dimers dissociate at room temperature, they are stable at 175 K and their structure is similar to the one in the solid state, with a cofacial arrangement of the radicals at an interplanar separation of approximately 3.0 Å. The π‐[TCNE]₂^2? dimers form dissociated ion pairs with the NBu₄⁺ counterions, and their first solvation shell comprises approximately 20 CH₂Cl₂ molecules. Among them, the eight molecules distributed along the equatorial plane of the dimer play a key role in stabilizing the dimer through bridging C?H???N contacts. The calculated free energy of dimerization of TCNE ^{. ?} in solution at 175 K is ?5.5 kcal mol^?1. These results provide the first quantitative model describing the pairing of radical ions in solution, and demonstrate the key role of solvation forces on the dimerization process.     

The Tetracyanopyridinide Dimer Dianion, σ‐[TCNPy]22−

The reaction of 2,3,5,6‐tetracyanopyridine (TCNPy) and Cr(C₆H₆)₂ forms diamagnetic σ‐[TCNPy]₂^2? possessing a 1.572(3) Å intrafragment sp³–sp³ bond. This is in contrast to the structurally related 1,2,4,5‐tetracyanobenzene and 1,2,4,5‐tetracyanopyrazine that form π‐dimer dianions possessing long, multicenter bonds.     

Synthesis,bioactivity and functional evaluation of linker-modified allatostatin analogs as potential insect growth regulators

Insect growth regulators play an important role in integrated pest management strategies.The FGLa–allatostatins(ASTs)are a family of neuropeptides that can inhibit juvenile hormone(JH)biosynthesis by the corpora allata(CA)of Diploptera punctata in vitro,are regarded as insect growth regulator candidates.In the search for new potential mimics and to explore the effect of linker length on inhibiting JH biosynthesis,a series of AST analogs were synthesized by modifying the linker of K24,which was found to have a significant effect on JH biosynthesis in vitro in our previous study.Functional evaluation demonstrated that all the target compounds can activate the Dippu-Ast R,albeit with different potencies.Analog L6 with the longest linker(n=5),exhibited not only a promising effect on inhibition of JH biosynthesis both in vitro and in vivo,but also good activity in inhibiting basal oocyte growth.Structure–activity relationships(SAR)studies showed that longer linkers provided greater contribution to activity.     

不对称加氢制备手性3′-氯-苯丙醇的反应液的气相色谱分析

用不对称催化还原法以3’-氯-苯丙醇（CPNL）为原料制备了手性3’-氯-1-苯丙酮（CPNL）,并用气相色谱法测定反应液中产品及剩留的原料的含量。选用2-甲基-苯丙醇为内标物,并用化学键合β-环糊精为固定相的手性毛细管色谱柱CP-Chirasil-Dex-CB对产品及原料进行分离。在所选条件下,不仅使CPNN与CPNL,还可使CPNL的右、左旋对映体相互有效分离。由于采有内标法,因进样不准而产生的误差得以克服,测得CPNN及（S）CPNL的检出限（3S/N）依次为13.14,18.75 mg·L^-1。上述两种化合物的加标回收率依次为99.5%～101.8%及96.5%～100.4%范围内;两者测定值的相对标准偏差（n=6）分别为0.39%,0.74%（左、右旋对映体相同）。     

A method for the estimation of the film thickness and plate tilt angle in thin film misaligned plate–plate rheometry

This communication describes a general procedure for the estimation of the true gap and tilt angle in commercially available torsional flow plate–plate rheometers by simply measuring the torque and normal force acting on the plates when shearing a Newtonian fluid.
