Although TiO2 anatase phase has been widely chosen as the main photocatalyst, it presents high electron/hole recombination rate. However, today, what is sought is a semiconductor material with enhanced photocatalytic activity with higher photon to electron conversion efficiency by introduction of electrons trap dopants. In this paper, TiO2 nanotubes arrays obtained by anodization of Ti substrates were decorated with Ru via electrodeposition, and their photo-response was investigated. First, voltammetric experiments were performed to elucidate the route of Ru reduction on the TiO2 surface and to select the range of potentials for Ru deposition. The reduction potentials were used for controlling the amount of Ru distributed all over the surface. Although Ru was electrodeposited at potentials over the range from ??0.025 to ??0.188 V vs. Ag/AgCl, the deposition of 3.7 mC cm?2 at ??0.100 V for 30 min resulted in a tenfold greater photocurrent when compared to the recorded photocurrent for the undecorated TiO2 nanotubes array. Next, Ru-decorated TiO2 nanotubes with a length of 323?±?18 nm and inner and outer diameters of 91 and 104 nm, respectively, were characterized using SEM-WDS, SEM-FEG, XRD, and XPS. UV-Vis-NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) measurements, which revealed a maximum PL emission at 445 nm, showed that for the array of Ru-decorated TiO2 nanotubes, the electron-hole recombination may be effectively inhibited by the presence of ruthenium electrodeposited, which can make this photocatalyst even more attractive for environmental applications. The performances of the TiO2 and Ru-decorated TiO2 catalysts were compared in heterogeneous photocatalysis experiments for color removal of an azo-dye, which presented a pseudo-first-order rate constant more than twofold greater for the Ru-decorated TiO2 catalysts.  相似文献

Phase equilibrium measurements, correlations and predictions are presented for the binary systems (R,S)-1-phenylethanol/CO2 and vinyl acetate/CO2 and for the ternary system vinyl acetate/(R,S)-1-phenylethanol/CO2. Experiments for the ternary system were performed in the temperature range of 323–343 K and in the pressure range of 7–12 MPa, using a high pressure phase equilibrium apparatus with a high pressure visual variable volume cell. Phase compositions were determined by taking samples of each phase and analysing them by gas chromatography. Equilibrium data were correlated with the Peng–Robinson equation of state combined with the Mathias–Klotz–Prausnitz mixing rule. A good correlation of both phases behaviour was obtained with an average absolute deviation (AAD) of 6.80%. Predictions for the binary sub-systems and for the ternary system were performed using the Peng–Robinson and the Soave–Redlich–Kwong equation of state, with the predictive mixing rule MHV1.  相似文献

A gold(III) complex with N,N′-ethylenebis(pyrrol-2-yl-methyleneamine) (H2pyren) was synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic measurements. Density functional theory (DFT) studies and cytotoxic assays were performed. Infrared, mass spectrometry, and 1H, 13C, and {15N,1H} nuclear magnetic resonance analyses indicate that pyren is deprotonated and gold(III) is four coordinate in a square planar environment, with the pyrrole and imine nitrogens as donors. The structure was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction and confirmed as a minimum of the potential energy surface by DFT. Cytotoxic activity of [Au(pyren)]+ was active against three tumorigenic cell lines with IC50 values of 35 μM. Interaction studies with CT-DNA by fluorescence and competition with ethidium bromide (EB) showed a quenching of the emission band of DNA with a Stern–Volmer quenching constant value of (3.0 ± 0.1) × 104 M?1 and a decrease in fluorescence quenching of EB-DNA system, respectively, confirming that DNA is a possible target for the complex via an intercalative binding, which was confirmed by DNA conformational changes observed with circular dichroism spectroscopy.  相似文献

Gliomas are the most common malignant brain tumors in adults, characterized by a high proliferation and invasion. The tumor microenvironment is rich in growth-promoting signals and immunomodulatory pathways, which increase the tumor’s aggressiveness. In response to hypoxia and glioma therapy, the amounts of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) strongly increase in the extracellular space, and the purinergic signaling is triggered by nucleotides’ interaction in P2 receptors. Several cell types are present in the tumor microenvironment and can facilitate tumor growth. In fact, tumor cells can activate platelets by the ADP-P2Y12 engagement, which plays an essential role in the cancer context, protecting tumors from the immune attack and providing molecules that contribute to the growth and maintenance of a rich environment to sustain the protumor cycle. Besides platelets, the P2Y12 receptor is expressed by some tumors, such as renal carcinoma, colon carcinoma, and gliomas, being related to tumor progression. In this context, this review aims to depict the glioma microenvironment, focusing on the relationship between platelets and tumor malignancy.  相似文献

Schistosomiasis is one of the major public health problems worldwide. Even though this is a common illness among preschool children in poor countries, treatment is carried out mainly through the administration of praziquantel tablets, which has some disadvantages, such as the strong bitter taste. As an alternative to overcome this problem, the development of new encapsulated praziquantel formulations is demanded. For this reason, suspension polymerizations are carried out for the in situ encapsulation of praziquantel into polymer microparticles, using methyl methacrylate (MMA) and cationic compounds (diethylaminoethyl methacrylate, DEAEMA, and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate, DMAEMA) as comonomers. This technique allows for the preparation of polymer microparticles with high encapsulation efficiencies (>90%) with characteristic sizes ranging from 0.5 to 1500 µm. Drug release profiles show that praziquantel is released from poly(methyl methacrylate) microparticles slowly due to the existence of strong diffusional resistance. On the other hand, the addition of cationic comonomers renders polymer particles sensitive to pH variations, allowing for faster release of praziquantel in acidic environments, as found in the stomach.  相似文献

In this work, we propose the utilization of scCO2 to impregnate ibuprofen into the mcl-PHA matrix produced by Pseudomonas chlororaphis subs. aurantiaca (DSM 19603). The biopolymer has adhesive properties, is biocompatible and has a melting temperature of 45 °C. Several conditions, namely, pressure (15 and 20 MPa) and impregnation time (30 min, 1 h and 3 h) were tested. The highest ibuprofen content (90.8 ± 6.5 mg of ibuprofen/gPHA) was obtained at 20 MPa and 40 °C, for 1 h, with an impregnation rate of 89 mg/(g·h). The processed mcl-PHA samples suffered a plasticization, as shown by the decrease of 6.5 °C in the Tg, at 20 MPa. The polymer’s crystallinity was also affected concomitantly with the matrices’ ibuprofen content. For all the impregnation conditions tested the release of ibuprofen from the biopolymer followed a type II release profile. This study has demonstrated that the mcl-PHA produced by P. chlororaphis has a great potential for the development of novel topical drug delivery systems.  相似文献

We present first-principles’ calculations of the structural, electronic, and effective mass properties of cubic Al1−x B x N ordered alloys. They are based on the density functional theory within the local density approximation, and the full-potential linear augmented plane-wave method. From such calculations we obtain the equilibrium lattice constants, the bulk moduli, the bandgap energies, and the effective masses along the (111), (100), and (110) directions. The results are used to give important information on characteristics analysis of AlBN-based quantum well devices, to provide the Luttinger-like valence band parameters and the effective masses of charge carriers, connecting the first-principles’ band calculations with effective-mass theory.  相似文献

Single dose of diethylcarbamazine (DEC) used in control programs is effective in breaking the transmission of filariasis. In order to investigate the effect of aggressive therapy on Wuchereria bancrofti (Wb) microfilariae, DEC was given to 29 patients who were positive for the circulating filarial antigen (CFA) assay but did not have clinical manifestations of filariasis, at 6 mg/kg/day for 12 days and again six months later using the same dosing regimen. For each patient, microfilarial density and serum CFA were followed up for two years. Ultrastructural analyses on Wb microfilariae obtained after repeated treatment with DEC were also performed. Microfilaremia and antigenemia decreased significantly after 12 months but returned to the initial levels after 24 months. This could indicate, as shown by other authors, that aggressive repeated therapy with DEC alone is ineffective in eradicating adult W. bancrofti, particularly in infected but asymptomatic individuals. The objective of the present study was to analyze the microfilaremic and antigenemic behavior and ultrastructural changes caused by different DEC concentrations in vitro in Wb microfilariae obtained from individuals who were sensitive and refractory to treatment. After in vitro treatment of the microfilariae using 5 and 10 μg/ml of DEC for 1 h, ultrastructural analysis revealed low levels of cell damage compared with embryos obtained from individuals from a different area who had never received DEC treatment before. The results obtained suggest that microfilariae from patients who receive repeated aggressive therapy are less sensitive to DEC in vitro.  相似文献
